The staff is really nice. The location was also great, right at the beach. I had a wonderful time here and met a lot of people

First of all - incredible hospitality and super welcoming owners. The location is perfect just on the beach. Bed was comfy and room spacious. Place to come back :)

Lovely owner!
They'll help you with everything you need and invite you to various events. I came during off season which is why I had a whole dorm for myself. A homestay like experience in a local village paradise :)

Great hospitality and hosting, you feel at home.
If you are obsessed with hygiene, you may struggle

Suzi and Matty are great hosts. They are super friendly and will always be willing to suggest activities and things to do during you mr stay here. I would definitely stay here again if returning to M’pay Bay, no doubt.

Staying for a few days at Cocohuts made me feel like I was part of the local life on the island, something that you will not get at The Cliff for example. You will meet the friends and neighbors of Suzi and her son, you will be invited for yoga classes or boat tours from the next door guesthouse, you will start to love all the sweet doggies coming to the huts… Walking distance from amazing bioluminescent plankton! I had a lovely relaxing stay and it made me fall in love with this island.
At the time of my visit there were a lot of sandflies/mosquitoes. We tried to light an incense spiral stick every night before sleeping and it helped a lot.

Very nice dorm with separate beds, each with an own fan and a mosquito net (both of which you will need). The owners are really friendly and helpful and they organise delicious dinners (cooked by a chef in-house) a couple of times a week.
I would've liked a small light at each bed, perhaps. Also we kept running out of toilet apper in the shared bathroom (which I know would've been fixed promptly if we asked, but I felt a little awkward to ask).

Everything! The location, the vibe, Suzi & Matty who take you in like you’re part of the family. We only spent 3 days here but would’ve stayed longer if we could! Will definitely be back!

M'pai Bay is already a quite beach, and this hostel is in the most quite part of it. So it suits every person wanting to just rest and chill. There are sofas and pillows and tables. It's really nice. There are only 6 beds in the dorm, and good mosquito nets. Every bed has a fan (which I prefer, because there are power outages everyday and ACs are slow). The owners, mother and son, are very nice, and Matt makes very nice cocktails. Also, something you should know - a surprising tropical storm came to the island while I stayed here, and the dorm survived it perfectly. No leaks (unlike other hostels on the beach).
I think the main thing that bothered me was the the level of cleanliness... This hostel is volunteer based, and has no professional staff, so nothing is really ever properly cleaned... Under and around the beds, the lockers... All quite dirty. The drains in the showers were clogged as well. Sometimes having to ask for toilet paper and hand soap... This hostel is not the cheapest in this beach, so the cleanliness should suit the price. Also be aware there is no wifi nor hot water.

Suzie and Matty are the kindest people I have ever met. I instantly felt at home. The beds were very comfortable with soft pillows. There is a ocean breeze , so I didnt use the fans half the time. Everything is perfect. The only thing that s the downsize is ya may have to leave .

It's a beautiful new place right at the beach. The dorms are super comfortable and big. The common area is perfect to hang out all day, make friends and take an occasional swim. The owners Matthy and Suzie will make sure you feel at home at all times and will provide you with lots of tips what to do in MPai Bay and be part of the friendly community there.
