A little bit noisy at night
9.0
Extremely relaxing. The private onsen was far better than expected, and it was exceptionally nice being able to use it anytime it's convenient for you.
Staying the night in a more traditional Japanese building was a special expensive.
- Hard bed (pretty standard). Asking for extra bedding to cushion the bed is helped considerably.
- Thin walls. (luckily most guests are respectful)
-The machine wasn't working when I tried to use it, wasting the free pod (single one supplied with the room) in my attempt.
These pods were weirdly expensive (especially for Japan) at 300 yen each.
Considerably cheaper hotels had far more capable/expensive machines which could be used for free.
This wouldn't be an issue (and let's be honest it's extremely miner) if coffee shops in Japan didn't open at around 10am or later.

private bath and the dinner that can see chef cooking
i like the old japan style hotel
7.0
One of the staff speaks good English and she is patient to explain everything to us during orientation. Meals are good, esp for dinner it is omakase full of surprises, breakfast is also good. A great experience if you have not tried any onsen hotel in Japan before. The private onsen is good and available easily, I like the effect of the kin water.
Nothing really, but compare to my previous meals at other onsen hotels, i feel it is not as value for money. Also note that they have a sister hotel Goshobo which has a better public onsen.
