About this house rental
Summary:
This sleek, stylish Victorian home in central Exeter has a cool industrial edge. From the rich dark walls, to exposed brick and weathered wood throughout. Many recycled or reclaimed materials have been used throughout the renovation too. There's ample space for 6 guests, spanning across 3 bedrooms and homely living spaces. You’re tucked away in the quieter streets of suburban Exeter, but still just a short walk away from the city’s best amenities. Free parking for one vehicle.
The Space:
Located on a quiet street in St Thomas, this recently renovated Victorian home is an exciting, modern retreat. Step inside to a cool display of texture and colour - from exposed brick walls to weathered wooden floorboards and rust steel beams. All of which are stylishly complimented with dark walls and industrial fittings. Having been recently renovated, much care and consideration have been taken to use recycled or reclaimed materials, whilst repairing and restoring many existing original features. It's got all the mod cons too, with an Alexa smart home system in every room allowing you to play music, control lighting, heating and more!
The open-plan layout of the living room and kitchen is great for sitting back and relaxing after a long day exploring - or for evening socialising around the kitchen island. The contemporary kitchen is the real heart of the home, with so much space to rustle up delicious meals and all the tools you’d need to boot. Plus, on warm days, fling open the floor-to-ceiling bi-fold doors and enjoy a spot of alfresco dining.
Style and comfort continue upstairs where you’ll find 2 of the 3 well-sized bedrooms all individually kitted out. The Master bedroom features a comfortable king-sized bed with wall-mounted smart TV, as well as ample storage space so you can really make yourselves at home. There is even air-con for those hot summer months! Next door is a twin bedroom, meanwhile downstairs, there is an additional double bedroom. For added luxury, the huge family bathroom boasts an impressive dual walk-in shower, as well as dual sinks and a roll-top bath.
Exeter High Street, with its long list of shops, restaurants and cafes is a fifteen-minute walk or five minutes in the car. Alternatively, you can catch the train from Exeter St Thomas and set off for days on the coast. Free parking is available for one vehicle.

The Neighborhood:
The house is located in St Thomas, a friendly neighbourhood near central Exeter. Within a 5-minute walk, you’re at the Quay where it’s a simple wander across the bridge and over into the city centre. Straddling the banks of the River Exe, the Quay area feels like you’ve left the city entirely and are instead in an oasis of calm populated by offbeat cafés and antique shops. Come night time and the place is teeming with bars, clubs, and is the perfect place to enjoy dinner by the water’s edge.
Exeter is a small, yet bustling city which is famed for its pretty Cathedral and charming historic buildings. Cafes spill out onto the green, where you can enjoy delicious alfresco lunches during spring and summer. Meanwhile, in winter, the courtyard twinkles with the lights of Christmas market stalls. The nearby high street is filled with shops and restaurants - a mixture of chain and independents - so you can shop till your heart's content. As well as the high street, there are a plethora of cobbled back streets and hidden gems to discover. From JK Rowling’s inspired The Old Fire House pub to the quirky Glorious Art House cafe and the charming Gandy Street - all are a must-visit.
One of the brilliant things about Exeter is its proximity and access to the countryside and coast. Within 15-20 minutes you could be wandering through the quaint streets of Topsham - a fishing village where you’ll find some fantastic antique shops. Or, tucking into fresh fish and chips at the famous Dart’s Farm. Enjoy days spent on the beach at Exmouth, Sidmouth or Budleigh Salterton - and make sure to stop off at Lympstone Manor, a beautiful manor house hotel run by Michael Caines.

We rented the house for 3 nights, we were a family of 3. Due to a family emergency 2 of us had to leave after the first night and return to the United States. Big disappointment since the house was so comfortable.
10.0 / 10.0
Very nicely decorated house that was easy to live in as a family with two dogs. House was well equipped and in a good location for the city and the very local M&S Food Hall made self catering a pleasure too. We had an issue with the plumbing but this was sorted out very quickly - even on a Sunday. All in all a very nice stay.
