Building and decorations were lovely
Host that checked us in was energetic
Easy to find parking
Room was stuffy and Heater in room couldn’t be turned off
Mattress was a little lumpy, if you normally have a memory foam topper or pocket springs at home you will notice the difference,
The milk in the tea set was 6 months past expiration date,
The room ‘James Joyce’ was in close proximity to the check in area and there were loud telephone conversations up until 9pm

Very stylishly decorated. Nice lounge with open fire. Breakfast was tasty.
Our room (Sr.Alyoisius' room) behind reception was disappointing. Small, dark and very noisy from early morning with the kitchen just outside the window and reception outside the door. Every conversation at reception could be heard word for word throughout the day. The only windows looked out on a small yard which is used by kitchen staff for their breaks. I opened the curtains in the morning and a member of the kitchen staff was just outside looking back at me. This meant we couldn't keep the curtains open in an already dark room. We mentioned the noise/privacy issues to reception staff and just received a resigned shrug in response. The other rooms may be better bug I suggest avoiding Sr.Aloyisius' room if you can.

Everything was absolutely stunning. Upon arrival we were greeted by Emmett who was extremely helpful and welcoming. We hadn’t been in Derry before and he was very good to recommended things for us to do during our brief stay. The rooms were just so so beautiful and I loved the theme of Irish literature. Would highly recommend spending an evening in the Oscar Wilde room. Unbelievably luxurious hotel for such a reasonable price. You’d be silly not to book here when staying in Derry! So close to the city centre.
I couldn’t fault the hotel at all in any way. Enjoyed every second.

Hotel was of an extremely high standard. Breakfast was excellent quality and beautiful presentation.
Nothing negative about our stay

The location was perfect for my work at the University of Ulster next door. Breakfast was not available as there were not enough guests. When my taxi back to the train station was half an hour late the lady at reception offered to drive me there herself, in the snow, totally beyond the call of duty, it was very much appreciated.
It would have been nice to have the option of breakfast, a chair in the bedroom would have been useful.

We were greeted upon arrival by a lovely gentleman named Emmet. He brought us on a tour of the property to introduce us to the space. Gave us some background and information about the surroundings. Very friendly and knowledgeable man. The room and the facilities were top class. Everything fresh and clean. Breakfast was delicious, breakfast is scheduled and has plenty of options, I found it to be very efficient and enjoyable. Would definitely return.
Nothing.

This is a beautiful converted convent - tastefully decorated to a high standard
Nothing it was fabulous

Rooms were comfortable and tastefully furnished. Team friendly and professional.
The breakfast menú seemed to confuse everyone
A single line at the top explaining how to make choice would make things much easier.

Beautifully decorated but all the period appointments made the room - already small despite being the superior - claustrophobic. Moved the furniture around so we didn't trip over stuff on the way to the bathroom. Huge, soft towels but nowhere to put them when used. Indeed, no room for two people to maneuver - or to accommodate luggage. We propped the door open overnight. Luckily, had a fan so we could open the windows and get some air flowing. Otherwise would have been too stuffy to sleep.

Staff was wonderful! The property is very beautiful and well appointed. Location is good and central to lots that Derry has to offer.
Expect the rooms to be a bit small, but that’s standard!

Beautiful rooms, excellent breakfast, convenient location. Very good value for money.

The decor and ambiance. However, it was the friendly, authentic welcome which really impressed us.
There wasn’t anything that we really didn’t like about the property.

Not your average b&b. The Lawrence is beautiful! Decorated & finished to a very high standard with antiques & luxurious soft furnishings. Breakfast was excellent with a broad menu of choices. The place is very classy. On top of that, Oona & Aleisha, 2 of the lovely staff I had the pleasure of crossing paths with, are worth their weight in gold! They couldn’t do enough for us & went out of their way to ensure our stay was relaxing & enjoyable. Thanks ladies 🌹🌹
Please add some towel hooks/rails & a shelf in the bathroom.

No issues whatsoever.

The property and our room were stunning. The bed was super comfortable and the staff could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was beyond excellent with beautiful, fresh options. Would highly recommend this property. Jut a short walk into Derry.

The property is amazing. It is spotless and staff so welcoming . The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. The sitting room was is wonderful coming in late at night , enjoying a wee beverage- staff advised we have a seat there when we arrived in after an evening out in Derry. We travelled by train but there appears to be parking available.
The heat in the bedroom was unbearable- we actually didn’t sleep . It’s actually difficult writing anything negative about this accommodation but if the room temperature was turned down / off, we’d stay again, the property is amazing.

Nothing wrong with the hotel. Was perfect

First impressions were great, very well decorated a classy stay, the room was perfect for what we needed as we spent most of the afternoon & evenings out with friends.
The bed was really comfortable and we enjoyed a good lay in as they serve breakfast all the way up to 10:30am
The breakfast is well worth it, good selection of choices from a full Irish breakfast to Salmon poached eggs etc it tasted amazing and was cooked perfectly
10/10 overall
Nothing.

John and his team have created a real gem pf a place to stay. Superb is an understatement. One if the best places we have ever stayed. The staff cannot do enough to make you comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. Colin on the desk was both helpful and and added to the welcome experience.
The accommodation is on another level and the effort to make it such a great place to stay is clearly evident. We will definitely visit again to be sure.
Nothing whatsoever.

Wonderful and sympathetically restored building with a great history which hadn’t been forgotten during the upgrade.
Interior was perfect and in keeping with the building and the owners put their guests first with the product and also their welcome.
The little personal touches didn’t go unnoticed.
We were fortunate to experience their first foray into providing breakfast for the guests…..everything you could have wished for was on offer and the owners attention to detail and genuine interest in their guests experience made for a perfect stay.
Highly recommended all round.
