My room was gross - not clean, wallpaper coming off walls, mold in the shower. Wi-fi did not work. Pool area was very outdated and dirty - lots of film and debris floating in the hot tub. The only area that looked nice was the lobby.

The staff are very nice, from the front desk to the cleaning ladies. We’ve stayed every December for my company’s annual Christmas party, the past 6 years. The hotel is clean and easy to navigate once you’ve stayed a few times.. The rooms are newly renovated, although this year we had a couple of hiccups. The door to the balcony wasn’t properly sealed so there was a draft coming in, we had to keep the heat up especially because we had our 10 month old with us. And the bathtub wasn’t draining and we ended removing the drain plug because it was 11pm and getting a set of pillows took almost 45 mins, we didn’t bother calling for maintenance at that time. Aside from that it’s always a pleasant stay, I’d recommend the Chelsea to anyone staying in the downtown area, looking for a reasonably priced hotel, comfortable hotel

Hotel lobby was amazing. Nice restaurant and cafeteria type eating.
The room was clean and fairly modern. Only thing I will say was that the beds were uncomfortable and the room was dim even with all the lughts turned on. I rarely have problems with hotel beds, but I woke up with a sore back and shoulder.

The hotel was nice and friendly; however I found the cleanliness to be wanted. Hairs in the bathroom, Etc. photo

We had a great stay, just one minor thing, not an issue! The instructions for the underground parking state to use the 5 level but the garage has only for levels!
These instructions are from the email of confirmation:
The 5-level underground self-parking is located on the South side of Gerrard Street West (West of Yonge Street, East of Bay Street). Please note we cannot accommodate oversized passenger
However, a very kind and patient employee assured me I wasn’t losing my mind but in the parking garage has only 4 levels.
This was my first stay at this hotel and over all a great stay, including our rowdy neighbours.

This hotel was fantastic, its possibly the busiest hotel I’ve ever stayed it but there was more than enough staff to accommodate every quest.
All the staff were super friendly and helpful,
Eating the Elm street bar and restaurant is an absolute must.
It does have an indoor pool, sauna and gym although we didn’t have time to visit these facilities so I can’t comment on those.
We visited from the 4th to the 7th of December. The hotel was beautifully decorated. They had a Polar express train running a Gingerbread house completion going on they even served free Mulled Wine and a chance to have your photo taken with Father Christmas most evenings,
Well worth staying at this hotel if your visiting Toronto

Everythinh was great but here's 2 minor details:
1- You should remove the popcorn in the celling of the room... This doesn't feel like a 300$ room.
2- The sign to let me know i was at room 2441 was confusing because there are 2 signs with left/right and the first sign from the elevator ends in deadend... You should correct this error. (First sign should point to the right for all rooms)

No bottle water provided was told safe to drink tap water or to buy a bottle of water from their shop in lobby for 5$
They do offer free water bottles only to certain clients like airline crews , not a friendly comment which I was told at reception

I would recommend this to any families with young kids or even a bit older! The kids check-in idea was adorable, it made my kids (4&5) feel so special. The separate pool for families was also great. The waterslide is only opened on the weekends, which was a bummer but we had plenty of fun without it. We went just in the beginning of the holiday season and just before check out, Santa visited the hotel! They offered hot chocolate and candy canes as well as a little toy to pick out. Location is perfect for walking and checking out Toronto! The food options at the hotel were great as well if you wanted to stay in for a meal or two.We will definitely be staying here again.

The location is perfect for a downtown experience. 5 minute walk to the Eaton Centre.
Nice family pool for kids, with a sliding tube, and there was also a craft area for children.
There was even a Santa present for a few hours a day. Hot chocolate and mini candy canes were given out to all.
All service was excellent!!

I have personally stayed at the Chelsea a number of times over the past decade and I often book on behalf of visiting guests when I can't host them at home. This was an especially unsatisfying stay and I would think twice about booking here again.
The room was serviceable, but very small. We had called down to see if there was a possibility of getting a bathrobe but they said no, they are for executive guests only and to use the towels in the pool. The pool attendant was friendly but very strict about only one towel allowed so it was not super comfortable and kind of awkward trying to dry off with a damp towel.
We were woken up very early by renovations in the floor above. There was no in-room literature about the hotel, what floor the amenities were on and their hours, info about check-in/check out times etc. My guest called down to the front desk to double check what time check-out was and whoever she spoke to was remarkably rude! It was unpleasant enough that we made a point to speak to the front desk about it and they said we'd have to talk to a manager. We waited and they said there was no manager and offered a breakfast voucher instead. Not great!

Staff was welcoming & friendly, convenient location, clean room.
Hotel itself is in need of updates, rooms were dated, heat was not controllable in the room, was a very uncomfortable 80+ degrees

We loved the property. The breakfast was amazing and staff was very accommodating. Our only issue was that we were driving an SUV and the parking garage max height is 5'5”. They have 6 oversize parking spots available and they were all taken. After speaking to management they let us park at one of their loading docks, which we were very greatful for, but we had to pay an additional $10 to park there. Other than that it was great!

Great hotel. Very large but quick service. The only complaint I have is with the cards for opening the doors. They get easily demagnatized and this happens quite often (on both my stays) where I have to go back to the lobby. They really need to replace that system cause they know about it.

Bustling lobby, completely done up for the Taylor Swift concerts! Loved the neighborhood. Staff was great, and they upgraded my room for a small fee on check-in.

Pros: great location, close to transit, good food options, rooms were nice check in was easy and quick, elevators properly spaced out because it’s a large hotel
Cons: WiFi was spotty and wouldn’t connect all the time, my last night there was a weird smell in my room, toilet kept making noises like it was trying to reset water

Visited during the T Swift concert, but we weren't there for that. Even though it was a super busy weekend, the staff handled it amazingly well! Got an upgrade at check in, without even having to ask. Great service in the restaurants. Will return 10/10

We reserved an executive room for four nights, but when we arrived very late on night one straight from the airport they said an executive room wasn’t available and we’d have to move the next day. Annoying. When we got to the first room it was shockingly bad! Tiny, smelled terrible, felt like a cheap motel room. THANK HEAVENS the “executive” room we moved to the next day was night and day different! It was actually very nice and much bigger. It was like it wasn’t even the same hotel. It was SO weird. Also a bummer, the water slide for the kids pool was never on during our trip. That all being said, the hotel is in a cool location near stuff downtown. I wasn’t sure how to rate. First room? 1.5 stars max. Second room? 4 stars.
