Location was decent, staff were good but smell of old wood was overwhelming and lobby and common areas were too cold.

Another truly memorable stay at what has become perhaps our favourite hotel, not just in Portland but anywhere. This hotel is not just top-notch in terms of comfort and service, but has a fascinating history too, and well deserves its status as an iconic Portland landmark.

Bathroom vanity was very small, but it is an older landmark hotel. Mattress was extremely comfortable. Restaurant service and food was quite good.

The lobby was very nice and clean. The room itself did not look like it was thoroughly cleaned before we got there. I even found items that belonged to the previous people staying there. The lobby was supposed to have coffee in the morning but always ran out when we came down and wouldn't replace it for the guests. The tv was extremely basic which is surprising to see in 2024. Didn't realize how loud that street was at night and the room we got was extremely loud. The staff were all very nice.

I paid for parking ahead of time one my Hotels.com app and then when I arrived the parking was $49 a night . I would like to be refunded the $15 I paid for parking in the app. I would take a credit as well

The Benson is a classic vintage hotel, but our room was very nice with modern updates and conveniences. You don’t always find that in older hotels.

Amazing service. I felt incredibly safe and valued as a customer staying here. $50 for valet parking but worth it for the safety of our vehicle. The history alone of the hotel is worth the stay.

Amazing hotel. Lobby is very elegant. We booked a corner room. The room is very big, comfortable and clean, but the bathroom is very smaller.

Excellent location, the restaurant’s food was good, and very friendly staff. I just didn’t get the boutique vibe and the bathroom was tiny. Overall I’m not disappointed and would stay again.

Let down by lack of room service and fresh towels. There were quite a few angry guests in the lobby which made the stay uncomfortable.

I recently stayed at the Benson Curio Hilton hotel and had mixed experiences. Upon check-in, the female front desk staff was not very welcoming, which set a somewhat uncomfortable tone. In the room, I encountered several issues: the hair dryer was broken, there was debris on the sheets, and the comforter had a noticeable stain.
While the mattress was comfortable, the pillows were oddly sized and not very supportive. The room felt stuffy and humid, prompting me to request a fan. Additionally, the shower design led to water leaking onto the floor, which was inconvenient.
On a positive note, the hotel is in a great location. However, given the issues I experienced, I wouldn't recommend paying more than $150 a night. It's advisable to check the sheets before getting into bed.

Clearly understaffed for full house. No assistance on parking, Simply said, good luck parking in garage downtown. We cannot help you with valet TOO BUSY
BTW, parking and walking in downtown Portland is NOT a pleasant or safe experience.

Hotel in the center of downtown. We were about 10 blocks from everything we wanted to see and enjoy. Breakfast in the morning is excellent. Boobie is a fantastic server, and enhanced our stay with suggestions of other things to experience. A great stay!

Hotel is really nice, had a lot of character and history and the room was clean. Staff are great, incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Kevin! He was great. Beds are decent, the pillows are oddly small and square. Rooms have a few dings and dents here and there but overall it was pretty good. Easy walk to lots of food trucks, coffee shops and restaurants. Ride share (Uber/Lyft, etc) are never more than a few minute wait. The area outside is dirty, smells like pee, there’s lots of garbage and transient people walking around, smoking drugs, sleeping on the sidewalks, urinating in the middle of the road, etc but was never harassed by anyone.
