Beautiful lobby and great staff in restaurant.
We were asked at check in if we wanted to pay $35 extra per day for an upgraded room. We declined. The room they gave us was old and the rugs and upholstery smelled. No coffee pot, microwave, or refrigerator. Tub was dangerous to get in and out of. Wish we had taken pictures of peeling paint. Bait and Switch!!!!!

Not a bad experience, but for anyone booking here for the first time, please read my review. Overall, the place was very nice, well kept. Had issues with checking in that were more than aggravating. Wasn't informed about the $25 food and beverage credit per day until check-out, which wasn't a huge deal, but it would've been nice to know. Also, when booking, i wasn't informed about the $100 per day security deposit, so that was relatively unexpected. My room didn't have a fridge, which was surprising given the price we paid to stay (booking did NOT say there would be one, so it wasn't misleading, just odd considering). Also, there was no coffee pot, but there was coffee on the main floor. The new pool was very nice. Most of the staff i dealt with was nice. There was just one that I had a lot of issues with, and I wish I could remember her name. The room was small but clean. The shower had nice pressure, and the bathroom was clean. Internet was good, high-speed. Parking pricing is $54/night. There are several places within a 2 block radius to park for cheaper/free. The first brownie recipe was pretty good. If you aren't looking for all the extras associated with this hotel, then I would recommend staying somewhere else. If you are looking for all the extra entertainment and amenities, then this is a great place to stay because there is plenty of that. It wasn't a bad experience I just don't know if it is worth the money for my scenario.
See above.

Lovely hotel. Loved the art deco and the history.
It's an old hotel, so don't look for things to be brand spanking new.
3.7
Completely nothing
Not clean, not maintained and very outdated

location and historic significance.
No breakfast for the price, I’d rather stay in a holiday inn.

The history of the Palmer House is undeniable. The ornate decor and lobby was beautiful.
The room wasn’t very clean. The wallpaper was peeling, the shower grating was caked with dust, and sink drainage full of black debris. The person who checked us in was unable to explain the $25/day required resort fee and how that was charged (which was included in the Booking.com payment, but the person at reception said it was an additional $75 charge). There was no way to opt out of the resort fee which had to be used to purchase things within the hotel, but also didn’t roll over between each day. This left a really bad first impression. The fridge was unable to be used in the room because it’s full of weight sensor mini bar items and no room for personal use.

餐厅的食物和服务很好
办理入住的人员说的不一样,一开始说每天能免费提供两瓶矿泉水,后来又说不行

Historischer Bau, perfekte Lage am Wabash.
Schlechter Service
Kein telefonisches Durchkommen, roomservice kam nicht trotz Aufforderung.

We got upgraded because we were getting married the next day. They took our luggage up to our room! The lobby was very beautiful and stayed open for a night cap.
It took almost an hour for us to get checked in. Then it took another 30 minutes for the luggage to make its way up to our room. There's also some hidden fees - a "$25 credit" at the spa and the bar/food that's actually just a $50 charge they add to your bill regardless of whether or not you use it. We were upgraded to a room that was down three different hallways, with the tiniest bathroom. You couldn't open the door and have someone standing at the sink. Don't believe the photos in terms of room size or amenities.

Beautiful as always. My first visit was 1952.
Really small bathroom for our king room.

The building was pretty and the breakfast was good.
Customer service was poor and we were overcharged

Every staff member I interacted with was very pleasant and helpful. Many of the attractions I visited were in close proximity to this hotel making moving about easy during my stay.
The room looked dirty especially the bathroom. Also, the way the outlet was installed in the bathroom made it impossible to plug in the hair dryer 🤣
The bedding was not very plush…
The furniture looked stained!
On my first night I ate at the Lockwood - mushroom crostini - and was sick later in the night. Could be a coincidence but 🤷🏽♀️

Location was excellent
I reserved a Room with a King bed, but my room was not available at check-in, they offered us a room with a queen bed and a roll out bed, but the extra bed was not brought until a day later, and we had to sleep in a queen bed our first night. Only and after 5 phone calls to guest services and one visit to talk to the lobby staff the extra bed was delivered, the queen room was small and could barely fit the extra bed. Restaurant closed too early.

It was super close to the festival we attended ( Lollapalooza )
They told us we would be upgraded to the executive with 2 beds but they were supposed to be bigger as I had my sister with me and we originally had a 2 bed booked. Anyway we go to our room and it’s a king size single bed. We asked about it and they said they had no more 2 beds they could give us. The price we paid for what we got is pure scam

beautiful historical building, lobby area has impressive ceilings
rooms are small and badly in need of renovation. One of our party had their wallet stolen out of her handbag on the back of her chair in the lobby bar

The food was amazing! The facility smelled so good and clean. Best hamburger I e ever had was at palmer house!
Did not see much staff at all, the tablet navigator in the room wasn't charged so I couldn't figure things out. The room was alot smaller than I thought.

We love the location! we also love how large The Palmer House is. The new pool was excellent!
We didn’t like that there were not fridges, microwaves, or coffee pots in the room. The rooms need updated. Our bathroom had multiple issues. The shower curtain did not prevent water from leaking so our bathroom flooded after every shower. The metal at the bottom of the sink was bent and coming off which was unsafe for our 2 year old. The toilet didn’t flush well. There were other small issues such as dust in the corners, dirty walls, and the carpet wasn’t vacuumed well.
