The breakfast was amazing. Always starting with local cheeses and jams, bread, tea and coffee. Then a lovely hot breakfast always different but always delicious. French toast one day, an egg and mushroom skillet the next etc. Extremely welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The whole house is a furnished in a 1920-30's style including the speakeasy in the basement. I was warned by the host this experience would ruin our expectations of other bed and breakfasts. And I have to say David... You were right!! Thank you for helping make out getaway special.

spacious suite, comfortable bed, fireplace, tea and coffee station and small fridge.
The breakfast was a feast and delicious
a little TLC needed in the back and front gardens. The inside more than made up for it but you do judge a book by its cover.

the high steps at the front door

The 3 course breakfast was not only delicious but beautiful and detailed!
Everything was very satisfying. Probably the only thing I could mention was a thicker more comfy bed pillow. There was 2nd one that I also used in the closet.

Staying at Gatekeepers Retreat was a very special treat from the minute we walked through the door.
The house and furnishings is comfortable, eclectic and interesting. There is a little bar downstairs that is like a speak easy....so unusual and quaint.
David has such a wonderful flair. There were little unusual touches throughout the home
The food was truly delicious...I mean who makes a 3 course breakfast? Everything was locally sourced as possible (in February). We were smacking our lips and full all day.
David is a collector of teas. His tea pantry is open all hours and there are dozens of teas

the suite was wonderful, with all the amenities we needed. David even provided us with an excellent restaurant recommendation where we had two wonderful meals. Plus he contacted us when we accidentally left my husband’s jacket and cell phone, and stayed home until we returned to pick it up.
the step up to the door is a bit high, but other than that it was great

Gatekeepers is a unique house with character and charm in every room and was so easy to feel relaxed in from the moment we were warmly welcomed by David. It was clear that creating this space was a labour of love and we wish we could have spent longer taking it all in. David created fabulous breakfasts for us (the tea collection was amazing!) and we really enjoyed his company and informative chat. And the beds were SOOO comfy!
Nothing. We loved it all.

The room was beautifully appointed and the bed very comfortable. The entire home was extremely well kept and clean. We are not antiquers but can imagine that many guests would enjoy the care taken to select particular pieces to create a certain style throughout the house. Our host was welcoming and attentive. The breakfast was outstanding.
Parking is a little challenging. No real space to be outside.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Panache mid November. We felt welcome, so comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our time.
The breakfasts were delicious and fresh (the butternut squash pancakes were particularly tasty!). Everything was super clean and the decor charming. We would happily return anytime!
Thank you for a lovely stay :)
