The inn is beautiful and we loved the histric character and ismall size. We didn't have breakfast at the inn but had dinner in the restaurant. The food was delicious and the atmosphere of the bar and restaurant were lovely. Beautiful view, attentive staff - we felt well-taken-care-of. Our room was wonderful - loved those huge shuttered windows that opened to a romantic river view. Inviting linens and nice toiletries. We had a great walk in the morning along the river.
The location was also so convenient to our event- a 3 minute wait for an Uber and a ten-minute ride there.
Only would have been better if we could have stayed longer.

Convenient location. Nice room with view of the river.
The only bad thing about the stay was that my clean clothes were stolen from my room and my room was left open by cleaning staff. But management reimbursed me for the loss with a minimum of fuss.

Beautiful building, great location for walking and easy access by car. Staff was friendly and kind. Coffee ready by 6am. Loved the river location and bridges.
Would have enjoyed a few breakfast items available in lobby.

Staying in a hotel on an island in the Mississippi River was exceptional! The area was lively, but also quiet--a perfect combination.

Stylish place. Comfort room. Very friendly staff. Exceeded my expectation.

Everything especially the location and the history of the place.
Nothing.

Very nice hotel. We loved the location. The bed was xomfoetBle and it was a great value for the money.
Bartender was rude and complained to another table about how upset he was that it was going to be busy for the firework display. He shared multiple times how he didn’t like fireworks and thought it was stupid that people were already setting up to watch them. He seemed so unhappy to be working and complained the entire time I was eating, I was there for light appetizers while I was waiting for my husband to join me. When he was ready to eat, I recommended we try another place because it was clear the bartender didn’t want customers. I thought it was a great menu and loved my appetizers but e chose not to eat there the next day too, just in case he was working again. Hopefully he was just having a bad day and maybe the firework display was more work than I understand but it would have been nice if he just kept his frustrations to himself. We were lucky to be in an area with several great restaurant choices off the property.

Very clean, we'll maintained.
Excellent location without a lot of noise.
Limited control of air conditioner. It was turned as cold as possible, but in the early morning would be warm in the room as the air only runs with motion. Not enough movement while sleeping, so the room got warm.

I enjoyed room service, restaurant and bar
I would have liked access to water

the outdoor spaces
room and hotel smelled musty, room was dusty

I love old classic hotels and this one did not disappoint! High ceilings, sumptuous textiles, and a gracious stairway with a thick patterned rug. Yet, good wifi, free coffee in the morning, and an efficient and kind host at the front desk.

Location and property were both desirable - GREAT onsite bar.
Nothing - I'd stay again

The staff set it apart. Ann and Cory to name a couple. I wish I knew more names to mention them all.

Great location with exceptional staff.
I preferred a firmer mattress .

The desk staff were excellent and we particularly enjoyed chatting with Willie Jackson. He was very helpful and quite personable.
We found the location to be ideal for the event. Others may not think so, but since we like to walk, the distance to Target Center was quite easy.
For a heritage building, it was warm and quiet.
The air units in the rooms tend to be a bit loud and there didn't appear to be a way to turn them down or off while we slept.

We had the BRUNCH on Sunday, December 25th. The food was ok but very expensive...but being Christmas it was convenient and the staff were always attentive. The dinner on Friday night was very good and more to our liking as it was a full menu. We enjoyed the music in the Bar (relatives of the owner) on 12/23/22 and playing TRIVIA in the bar with fam on Saturday, 12/24 afternoon. They need to stock some Cream Sherry in the bar....just a suggestion.
Staff and other patrons were very nice about our two dogs (Welsh Corgi and Cavelier King Charles Spaniel)....they enjoyed it for Christmas Day when we all...including the dogs....wore our Christmas PJ's to the lobby (and Brunch for the 2 legged members of our family) for a photo shoot done by Jenny, Nicollet Island Manager. Jenny was very helpful and a delight!
My daughter and I had an in-room WONDERFUL massage from HALO masseuses (Danielle and Sam). They were skilled and lovely ladies to help us get our kinks out!
We would do it all again!!
Wish there were refrigerators and micros in the room....BUT....they kept our bagged leftovers in a fridge in the kitchen so we were able to take it all home with us as we live in St Paul.

Beautiful location, facility and room. Wonderful staff and food. Couldn't have been nicer!!
Bed was too hard.

There was no breakfast offered.
Upon entering the room it was a very strong smell of dampness. It certainly is understandable being an island in the Mississippi and being a stone building that moisture is retained. There was no breakfast offered. And there was a very limited menu for dinner.
