The staff were very friendly, professional, and courteous. Prime location, quiet, and walkable to 32nd st. And easy access to Long Island city. Hotel was clean.
No gym and WiFi was not included.

I usually stay in cheap hotels, but splurged for this one for a weekend visit. The room/hallway was very quiet and exceptionally clean. Staff was very kind. I felt very fancy staying here. And safe, too. Heated toilet seat, wow!
Room was beautiful, but a bit too dark.

Very comfortable rooms and excellent staff. The location is perfect (walking distance to Grand Central, Bryant Park, Times Square, and near lots of coffee shops and restaurants). The rooftop bar is awesome too! Will definitely stay here again!

The Kitano is wonderful hotel with a level of sophistication that is perfectly attuned to their Park Avenue setting. The staff are professional and friendly. The rooms are spacious and well thought out. It is a quiet, boutique hotel that invites you to soak in their deep bathtubs. I loved it.

it’s clean, nice rooms
it would have been nice to know that all of the restaurants are closed for renovations for several months

Got to the hotel early in the AM, well before the check-in time. They kept my luggage for me and after I checked out too, for which I was grateful. The hotel lobby looked modern and sophisticated. I was only in NYC one night and only was in the hotel just to sleep. I didn’t get to try any of their services.
When booking, the app talked about the hotel being “feet” away from the office. Not accurate because it was a 15-mins walk, I didn’t like that. While the lobby was modern, the room looked dated. The mini bar wasn’t fully stocked — I was looking for just water and I had to call to get some, which they brought up so I was grateful.

I reserved a corner room which is quite large and although I was only on the 6th floor, there was no outside noise from traffic which was great. Heating worked well even though it was bitter cold outside. There was also an additional plug in heater (which I actually had to use once- cross ventilation cold air) which did it's job. The lobby is elegant with classical music playing in the background. In fact, the entire hotel has an air of hushed elegance which is the nature of Japanese service culture. And of course, there is the marvel of the Toto toilets in the bathroom! The bathroom is a good size and the bathtub is actually usuable!
I think the hotel could use some upgrading especially with the electrical plugs which were difficult to use because they were practically falling out of the wall and the lack of usb ports anywhere. The hotel is far behind in technological conveniences. The televisions should be replaced with newer models. The entire lighting system could use an overhaul as I found myself going around the room to turn off lights on and off individually because the entry and bedside switches leaves you in the dark. I had to call someone to come and explain how to turn on the shower as it is a somewhat antiquated system. My biggest complaint was that the Kitano Jazz Club was not open and neither was their restaurant, leaving the somewhat mediocre rooftop bar the only option for eating in the hotel aside from room service.
