The gardens are lovely and peaceful, and the bed was comfortable.
We stayed here a little over a year ago and liked it well enough that we booked it again, but the property has gone way down hill. The hot tub is apparently permanently broken (and weirdly boarded up) (we knew it was broken when we booked, but assumed that a spa hotel would have it fixed by a month later, but I later read reviews saying it's been broken since last July!); the pool was full of leaves our first afternoon; the shower flooded our bathroom every time we showered; the door opened into the toilet (and shower) so even as small people, each of us could barely fit in the bathroom. For the same price as super nice places down the road, this is not worth it.

Cute retro motor lodge with nice looking restaurant on site. The pool was nice and the room was large. Nice robes were provided. Beds and pillows were comfy. I like that you are dog friendly even though I had no dog. Pool was nice.
The bathroom tub/shower tile was in desperate need of grout cleaning. A lot of black mold and soap scum was on the grout and behind the sink. The toilet seat was super worn and in need of replacement. Walls were in need of paint touch up and the carpet was stained. The price was too much for these types of problems. For the price, I expected very clean and luxurious. Retro is great but not dirty and worn. I was really disappointed. I manage a bed and breakfast and I would be embarrassed if my rooms looked like this. I would rate this a 2 vs 4 star motel.

The noise from outside.

Excellent staff. Very friendly and accommodating. Free beverages for your room. The property has a nice courtyard by the pools. Loved the lighting in the courtyard. It poured rain both days but the pool was open and being used. Bikes were also available for free to use. The interior design was spot on.
The shower only had a half glass door but it was still nice.

The hot tub was out of order and the pools were not hot enough. My wife swam for a while but the water wasn't warm enough for me. The whole trip was to get into warm water.

We come here all the time. Mainly for the pools.
Jacuzzi under construction. Would have been nice to know this. Wouldn’t have booked. Room was facing the road. Lots of noise in the early morning hours.

Calistoga itself is a charming NorCal town, and the Motor Lodge & Spa did not disappoint. Great location, lovely rooms.
Rates felt a little higher than expected — even booking in advance. Know Napa is a desirable location and prices reflect that, but was still a lot.

It has a nice charm to it! The pools were great! The spa was excellent. We had an amazing massages by Genevieve and Mac
My husband and I arrived on a Friday night and just walked into our room for a quick minute because we had dinner reservations we were running late for. Immediately when we walked into our room we noticed it smelled bad and musky. We were surprised by the location of our room it was all the way at the end of the lodge and oddly there was a shipping container right outside the window and a couple of others too, the bathroom was very small and had a shower curtain that didn’t look right. We went to dinner and when we came back we decided to go ask at the reception desk if we could please move. Allison was very helpful and moved us to another room right above the restaurant however we were charged to “upgrade”. The room had 2 queens which we decided to settle for since we definitely did not want to stay in the first room. The room was much better however there was loud music playing ALL night coming from the restaurant :( it was very hard to sleep. The second night was much better! Inside our room the coffee pot did not work and was leaky, and the speaker didn’t work either :(
I am a huge fan of a hot tub but unfortunately the hot tub was out of service as well as the sauna.

Nice room.
The TV and WiFi didn’t work but they tried to fix it.
They hadn’t taken onboard our request for a quiet room on an elevated floor at all.

Across from construction , terrible pillows and overall poor quality for the price we paid. Very disappointing.

Kind of dated decor

I like the room we stayed in and the size of the rooms (king camper studio). The bed and pillows were very comfortable and feel like a brand new. The bathroom was beautiful, very clean, comfortable. There were two big screen TVs with different channels and on demand. Every unit is a separate house. And the cute table and two big armchairs. Love all of these.
They changed me $134 extra for some kind of insurance. I'm not sure what is that. If they will not return me that money I'm going to phone them. Also the pool was not enough for the size of this resort. Lots of people on weekend in the swimming pool. I don't know if a lot of guest on workdays. The charge for the pet is $75. Its more than other hotels have.

The pool was wonderful.
There was mold in our room upon arrival and after we changed rooms there was water leaking near our bathroom. There was little to no communication from the team at Calistoga Motor Lodge and not once did a manager take the time to ask us about our stay or reach out.

This time was a catastrophy. No pool, no other access to fix the problem, construction.

Comfortable beds, nice pools, plenty of space to lounge, big room
Poor communication: the TV didn’t work, and we didn’t ask for a tech guy, but one showed up unannounced; they shut off the water for at least a half an hour without telling us they were going to do it; they didn’t tell us that the hot tub would be out of commission; cleaning service banged on our door before we had a chance to check out. The linoleum in the room could use an upgrade.

Clean room
Not good value, room should be $200/ night at best, not a $400. Underwhelming decor / ambiance but at least it’s clean.

mineral water pools.
although it was a four person room, there was only enough supplies supplies for two people. The hot tub, which we came to primarily enjoy during the evening hours, was 12° above what was safe. Although we had attempted to get someone to help, initially we were told simply to get out if it didn’t feel safe. However, with persistent complaining, they were eventually able to call someone in to make the necessary adjustments.
we were offered an hour late, check out, but when one of my adult grand children came in to get the key re-magnetized, he was told that it was already check out time

The room was nice and clean. The food was outstanding and the service was great.
The prices offered at the spa were much higher then other local spas.

Helpful, friendly staff, the selection of pools, cleanliness, location, the soap, shampoo and lotions, the coffee, and although we didn't get to use the fire pit for roasting smores or popcorn, it's nice that you had the option available.
the heating/cooling system was noisy.

The location is fantastic - right at the end of the main drag in Calistoga, my favorite town in Napa. It’s surrounded by beautiful mountains, and walking distance from a nice hiking trail into the mountains. The pool facilities were very nice. Loved the free water bottle filler. Everyone was friendly. Room is a nice size. Great shower, comfortable beds and pillows, very quiet at night.
There was not enough bikes for us to rent one day.

It was my 2nd time at the Calistoga Motor Lodge and I'll be back for a third! The first time I visited with girlfriends and the second time I brought my husband and 4 month old. Both experiences were fantastic and I highly recommend the Inn!

Excellent spa, dinner at the restaurant was very good. Fire pits outside were a bonus! The retro vibe is fun.
the heating in the room was not great, but we were there during unprecedented storms. It was a little pricey for a motel
