Love Townsend TN but wouldn't stay here again.
Interior of our cabin was clean and comfortable. Shower was good. Free breakfast at the Apple Valley Cafe was delicious. Gift basket was a nice touch. Convenient to have a few dining choices on the property.
The grounds were well maintained but the exterior of the cabins just looked dark and dreary. Our cabin's back porch was full of cobwebs and no comfortable furniture. Nowhere good to relax outside. Too expensive to not have a pool or hot tub on the property. Some cabins do have a private hot tub but our unit did not. Asked for feather-free bedding but did not have request honored. Wifi did not work at all.

Lovely cabin in the woods with all the modern comforts of home
Beautiful cabins on a wooded hillside. The pictures don’t do it justice. While the restaurant was closed, the setting and menu looked outstanding. Great welcome basket when we arrived Truly is the quiet side of the Smoky Mountains when compared to Pigeon Forge.
Wished the restaurant was open— but totally understand they need a day off!

Wonderful weekend away in a beautiful location.
Very friendly staff, very clean and in a great location. Were very gracious about removing all the feathers from our room (allergies). And gave us delicious dining ideas. Would definitely stay again.

Got overcharged for Christmas Eve dinner at Appalachian Bistro
Great friendly staff, good breakfast. BUT.....we ate Christmas Eve dinner at the Appalachian Bistro at the Dancing Bear Lodge. The meal was wonderful, as expected, we have eaten there a couple of times before......however, after reviewing our credit card charge on-line, I saw that we were charged for a $66 bottle of wine that we did not order, plus the approximately $13 tip that resulted from the $66 charge. I know we should have caught this mistake upon checking out of the restaurant, but we didn't. I did call the restaurant and ask them to remove the charge and I understand why they did not......we can't prove we didn't drink the bottle of wine. But we didn't. So, just be aware and check your tab carefully.

it was spectacular and I can’t wait to go back!
this is a beautiful setting, and the cabin was wonderful and rustic, but with amenities. The Appalachian bistro was spectacular in appearance, and the food was amazing. The coffee Bean was spectacular and I love the fireplace is everywhere at this resort. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
