The setup was spacious, and the bedrooms were comfortable. Everything looked nice. There is no air conditioning in the bedrooms, but the fans did a nice job. The frogs were really loud at night. You felt like you were in the middle of the rainforest. We had little lizards on the walls. That was fun.
I didn't like all the ants in the kitchen. We ate and cleaned up but the next morning they were all over the table. They got into my pill container. It was gross. The only bad thing about not having air was that nothing ever felt dry.

Staying here really felt like being part of a family! The host is extremely welcoming, people will have breakfast in the dining room whenever they feel like it and still there's the privacy of your own room. It's an amazing place.
One thing that I'd like to mention is the exceptionally well done labeling of everything in the house, so you will know immediately how to deal with whatever situation you're in. That was very useful when I arrived late in the night.
Also, a big shout out for the Host Diana, who did go through a lot to help me out with some company issues I had. That was awesome and it saved me a lot of trouble!

Proximity to Hawai'ian National Volcano Park. Common areas were large and cozy.
Only the right front burner worked on the stove. Oven had a sign that said, "Do not use". Dishwasher had sign that said, "Do not use". Went to get ice out of the ice dispenser, no ice. Looked inside and found that the ice maker had been removed. Bed had a mattress, but no box springs.

The owner was away, but her friend Cheryl was looking over the place, and she was a very helpful and friendly host. We really enjoyed talking with her, such a nice genuine person! The place was like an old school homey BnB. We had a wonderful time.

Amazing 9 days stay at this beautiful accomodation. We immediately felt like home and received the most warm welcome of Diana, the owner. The rooms and bathroom are nice and comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped, we didn’t miss anything. Thanks again for the extraordinary stay, we will forever remember your delicious oatmeal and the home grown fruits.

Diana was great and very helpful
The room was big, well organized with a side door to a joint veranda.
She also offered us some breakfast groceries including fresh fruits from the garden trees.
Above all the price was by far the best we had in ourxwhole trip in Hawaii
The location is about 4 to 5 miles from town however with a car it is a minor problem

Everything was amazing. Diana was incredibly nice and generous. The house is very nice and comfy, and the organization for everything the guests may need was perfect. We also got to meet other great guests. Simply, among the best places I've stayed.
Nothing. Just an amazing time if you can keep a clean environment and follow the very simple rules of the house.

I understand it is a Jungle environment. However, the frogs were unbearable. Loud, invasive to the point that I could not sleep. We stilted in Hilo to avoid a 2hr drive at night but was less relaxing because I could not sleep because of the frogs.
Room was humid inside with only a ceiling fan, and we couldn’t open the windows because of the frogs. Additionally, the Television did not work so we couldn’t even turn the TV on to drown out the frogs

We had a lovely 1-week stay at Diana’s house and were able to tick all our day trips on our to-do list as the Hawaiian Ohana Home is ideally situated.
The airport, city, shopping centre, Volcano National Park… are very easily accessible.
