Really enjoyed my stay here. I wasn't expecting much to be honest, and the Mayflower way exceeded my expectations. There is so much personality and vibe to this hotel. It's clean, comfortable, and comes with a nice breakfast. There's also a mini market next door.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Bed was comfortable.
The hallways and breakfast room were very cold—mostly unheated (room was fine, though)

The price absolutely. We stayed in a 4-person bedroom which provided us with a king sized comfy bed, a single size bed and a bunker bed. Besides the bunker bed, the bed were comfortable and good sleep in. We were provided with free breakfast with toast, boiled eggs, ham, jam/peanut spreads, coffee etc. Was pretty good for an uncharged meal. Wifi was very fast.
The location was pretty high in the middle of the hill, but was doable with walking (not so convenient to push the tourist bags around tho). The furnitures and the place it self seemed pretty old. Bed near the window got pretty cold during our stay.

The location was walking distance to Union Square and public transport. The staff were friendly and helpful. The old world charm of the hotel, our room was very comfortable, the water was hot. Having a kitchenette was a great cost saving and convenience, as was the deli market right next door. continental breakfast is included every morning too. The manager let us store our luggage after check out and use the common area while we waited for a late flight. I would highly recommend this hotel for comfort on a budget
I would have loved an electric kettle in our room, that would have been a bonus!

Parking garage was cool, amazing, and wild to navigate!
The hotel is a historic classic and kept nice and clean.
Breakfast was great, too!
Cool elevator!

Really wonderful stay. The place was so clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent and willing to help in anyway. It’s an old building so it’s not a “posh” place, but it’s perfect for a clean and quiet place to sleep. Location is right on the perimeter of the Tenderloin. I felt completely safe. Yes, there are a lot of homeless people a few blocks from here so if that is intimidating for you, you may need to consider doing more ride shares, but we felt comfortable walking day and night. This was the most economical place for us to stay and I would do it again.
I really have no complaints, but if I was to pick one negative it would be the breakfast. It’s was basically toast and a few pastries, hard boiled eggs that were really difficult to peel and some ham and cheese. Certainly enough to eat, but more of a snack breakfast than a hot breakfast. Easy to have this be a snack and then do an early lunch - there’s no shortage of amazing places to eat in SF.

good spacious clean room, convenient location for lots of lovely places to eat. Great well stocked store next door. Proper cutlery, plates and glasses in the room. Hester was really helpful with directions to get us around and tips for places to eat and drink, such a lovely lady.
The nylon/polyester sheets, very hot and uncomfortable. Breakfast was very basic, add some cereal and bagels and would improve it 100%.

My daughter and I arrived past midnight and the front desk attendant was very courteous and patient. We were very happy that there is an elevator and that the room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The location is excellent, we felt safe and is close to the attractions we were interested to access. I would not hesitate to recommend it.
Minor problem--- the toilet paper was placed closer to the shower tub than to the toilet itself. One have to reach to get it. We wondered what was the reason why it is located away from the toilet.

The hotel was as I expected it to be from the details and the reviews that I had read. It was basic and quite dated, but the room was clean and the bed was really comfy. The only issue that I had was that I asked a couple of times about booking a taxi to the airport and was told at least twice that I couldnt reserve in advance and that it would only be around 5 mins from ordering. I mentioned that the marathon was on and was advised that it would be fine - however my taxi took nearly an hour to arrive. I would have expected the staff to firstly know that the marathon was one, and advise me to make allowances for any delays - as the delays happens every year so the taxi driver told me...

The staff let us check in as soon as we arrived even though it was super early in the morning and the complementary breakfast was satisfactory. They explained a lot about the surrounding area of the hotel and what to do. The room was very nice, and they had really cute drawings around the wall and the room gave off a very nice vintage hotel vibe. There was a whole closet room that was very spacious. Lastly, checking out was very convenient.
Wish they had blowdryer in the room. Also sometimes the keycard to the room didn't work so we had to try it multiple times to get in.

What I like about that it has a kitchenette with microwave & refrigerator.
Pros: Kitchenette with microwave oven & refrigerator.
Cons: Poor lighting such as the room is too yellow. Not enough outlets. Not enough lamps.

The deco is vintage, which we appreciate. If you only like beige wall and white sheets, then this is not for you. Staff very nice and helpful. Girls are thrilled to see their stuffed animals well arranged.
Our room's window does not have a view. But that's ok

The room was comfortable and quiet with a very nice view to the south. We appreciated the microwave and minifridge, dishes, and small sink in a little kitchen-like area. We could walk to most of the places we wanted to visit or they were a short ride away.
The room smelled very musty when we arrived. Luckily the windows open. Airing rooms out would be a good idea.
