Convenient location
Safety concern. No lock on the inside. Maintenance person knew the door code and walked in without knocking. Do they change the lock code?!!

Location it's great.
Wasn't really clean. The beds moves a lot.

Check-in/check-out were very straightforward. Kitchen and bathroom were equipped adequately. The location is awesome: next to the Commons, to public transportation, to shops and restaurants... ("Democracy Brewing" next door is highly recommended, great food and IPA).
Although well maintained, the place has a lower standard: carpet detaching from floor, stains on the chairs, holes in walls and doors. The bedframe is not stable, one person moving will be felt by all 4 sleepers. The AC unit is (very) noisy and its performance is barely adequate.

Loved the location, we were in walking distance to everything! The response time of the host was excellent, any concerns I had were addressed immediatly.
I traveled with my 3 adult children and the room had two very comfortable double beds. I would have liked an additional sleep space and while the small couch in the room was sufficient, a full sized or pull-out sofa would have been more comfortable.

The A/C and heater makes crazy noises. but its effective.

It is very centrally located and is just across from the Freedom Trail and Boston Commons, next to Democracy Brewing and down the road from Boston Harbour and Quincy Market.
The AC/heater unit is very noisy on its automatic function. Because of the AC/heater unit, the window is open slightly, which meant that through the night you could hear the buses, the people walking down the street, the cars, the sirens, etc. I did not expect it to be so loud but we could barely sleep with all the noise.

Felt harassed by emails from the property. Demand after booking for my credit card, photos of my ID/passport, $300 hold on my card which was not stated in ad. Then so many emails from property…including instructions for cleaning up after ourselves—to hang towels and straighten up—before leaving property. Felt micromanaged. I literally didn’t have time to deal with all the emails from this property. I’m a 50 year old professional who just wanted to book a clean, comfortable room for myself, my husband, and another couple to do historical sightseeing. Also very disappointed that second bed, a foldout couch, was not even full size, and property did not include appropriate linens for it. College student accommodation and micromanaging for premium price. Not ok.

The general areas were dirty.
The lift sounded like it was going to crash and stopped working whilst we were there - we were on the fifth floor: a bit inconvenient!!
TV was not working when we arrived. There was only on fork provided.
I have stayed in budget hotels but would never stay here again and certainly do not recommend it.
Just about everything! I did not feel safe and actually got a wedge to put under the door to feel a bit safer. Had I been travelling alone I would not have stayed.

The room I was in overlooked a rooftop with several HVAC units. When I contacted the office to let them know that the room I was in smelled of natural gas and that I thought it was coming from the HVAC units just outside my room, they sent someone over to check it out. He didn't notice much of a smell during the time he was there. I noticed it was worse when I was in my room around 11am - 1pm. I was afraid to stay in the room because I got light headed. I have never before wished that I had a portable Carbon Monoxide or even Oxygen meter on me.
To make a long story short, they put me in another room on the 5th floor and it overlooked the street. The room didn't have a bathroom or kitchen like the one I paid for but at least it didn't smell of natural gas and wasn't dangerous. For the cheaper room, they allowed me to stay an additional night to make up for the price difference.
Improve ventilation in room 407. This room overlooks HVACs that appear to be in a kind of closed alley with little to no air movement.
Ventilation throughout the building is also needed. The whole building smells kinda funny. Not sure what that smell is. It was similar to the subway smell....

Location was good
The room was very very run down - was dirty in the bathroom and all floors were not clean. Lobby and hallways smelled like garbage very strongly. Furniture looked like it was pulled out of a dumpster. Looks nothing like the pictures. Bathroom was stained in tub and really badly refinished. I would be embarrassed to have someone stay here with a place in this state. None of was acceptable and the host just made excuses for the mess and conditions. Would could not use the sofa as it was full of stains that looked like urine?

Great location close to everything. Comfortable beds. Pretty quiet room with the fan & AC running
There was a standalone AC unit for the living room/common area but no AC in the bedroom. Kitchen equipped with a large fridge, big coffee pot and a blender. Very basic cooking equipment available. The hair conditioner dispenser in the bathroom was empty and didn't have a shampoo dispenser (only body wash).

excellent location
AC is loud , if you are lighter sleeper. It seems fine with my kid though.
3.5 / 5.0
The room was a good size, as were the beds, there was a good sized fridge and kitchenette, everything we needed was there as far as an iron, hairdryer and so on.
The air conditioner was good but kind of noisy. It would be great if there was a kettle and tea available. Also, more complete information about the entry codes (we didn't know we had to press * at the end of the code, this info wasn't provided to us in advance).
