Jambo Mara is right on the footsteps of one of the Mara entrances. A nice property that is accessible and will allow you to relax after a long day of "safari-ing"! Both dinner and breakfast were up to standard, and a picnic was packed for us for the full day safari! We were pleased with it all. Thank you!
We didn't stay long enough.

The hotel had a very beautiful garden, the room was very clean with all the necessary facilities, the hot shower was perfect after the game drive, the staff were very kind and gentle
The variety of food can improve

The staff were the courteous ones I have ever encountered at a hotel. Right from check-in to check-out they were friendly, cooperative, and accommodating. The staff helped us celebrate our daughter's birthday with Masai touch and a cake at no cost. Hot water is available all times and power availability was no issue. There were table tennis and snooker tables that kids enjoyed after safari trips. Food was fine also. Soft drinks and water were all included in meals.
None that I can think of.

Value for money. We stayed at glass cottage. Spacious with a sit out at the back. Nice bath with running hot water and electricity throughout.
We were quite apprehensive based on feedback provided by other travelers regarding hot water and electricity. That would have been in the past. When we stayed we didn’t find any problem with hot water and electricity.
Food options are fine. Good varieties for vegetarians as well.
Courteous staff.
Overall we liked the stay and recommend.
Packed food for gaming can be improved. We asked for specific item which was noted and they said they will pack. However that was not available when we opened the boxes. This happened on both the days despite them agreeing. We are not very particular but it may be not agreeable for others.

Really nice and clean. Location is best for wildlife sightings.
Food could have been better.

It was clean and people were very helping.
Shortage of Indian food options

Excellent location, good food, friendly staff
No hot water provision in the resort. It gets very cold in masai Mara specially in the morning when the temperature is around 10 degrees Centigrade. The resort does not have hot water in the shower, also the staff did not arrange for hot water which was inconvenient to us.

the chefs lee and Patryk and all the restaurant staff went above and beyond to make sure you were fully satisfied
the slimy penny pinching manager Daniel. firstly after a long flight and a 5 hour drive from the airport we get to the Masai Mara gate. the hotel had advertised that you only pay park fees in the days you go on safari and that they had guest passes to enter, this is a lie. they tried to charge us $160 to come through the gate and we waited 2 hours for the hotel rep to come to get us in and he then tried to get us to pay. we get to the hotel and instead of the solar power they advertise they use a generator which they turn off for 6 hours in the night, 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. I don’t know how they have the cheek to claim to be 5 stars. the room has no air con, no telly not even mosquito nets but plenty of mosquitoes. you can have a fan on but since the electricity is cut for 10 hours a day it’s not much use. this also cuts off the Wi-Fi so there is nothing now for you. I arranged a safari with an outside company. the manager would not let them through the hotel gates to collect me so forcing you to have to use the hotels safari service. I had to threaten to get a refund and move hotels in order for Daniel to agree to let us have electricity for longer time. when you then leave they tried to charge $800 park fees for the days we didn’t go on safari. it’s a disgrace and there is no point staying in the park as you’re nowhere near the animals anyway, might as well stay outside then only pay entrance fees to go on safari. we paid £200 a night to have nothing there then get the $160 a day charge to have the privilege of staying inside the park in a room with no electricity and no amenities. total rip off

Lovely pool, great setting.
Poor WiFi throughout the hotel.

Lovely experience. Was about 12 km from the main gate (Sekenani) on a bumpy dirt road. We had a Rav 4 and it took about 45 minutes to reach the lodge. (I now know that we could have left the car at the gate and the hotel could have arranged better transport to get us to the lodge!) We rented 2 of the glass cottages - one for me and my husband and the other for his 80 year old mother. When the staff heard that she was coming, they went out of their way to care for her (and us! Exceptional service). They gave us cottages near the dining hall, offered her room service, and took extra time to walk us to the cottage with flashlights at night. Meals were included and tasty. Lunch and dinner consisted of buffets with usually had rice, potato, pasta, vegetables, meat (beef or lamb), chicken, and fish. There were salads at dinner and fruit and dessert. Good food! Daniel arranged for a game drive for us and told the driver to go carefully because of mum. They packed us a lunch while we were out on the safari. The following day, we visited a Maasai village and got to learn about the culture and had a chance to buy some authentic souvenirs. Great location for access to both of these activities. Felt safe and secure. The facilities were fine, but it was the staff made this place stellar going out of their way to ensure our comfort. They even packed us a lunch to go when we checked out since we didn’t eat lunch at the lodge on the first day of arrival.
The showers are heated by solar, which meant they were fairly chilly during our visit - we had more rain and clouds than sunshine. Robby at the front desk arranged for hot water to be delivered in a bucket for mum’s morning shower, which was appreciated.
You have to go through the gate to get into the park / access road, but this lodge is technically outside the park so for a foreigner, it’s $80 USD a day. Worth it, but also important to know for your budget!
The electricity is run by a generator, which was turned off from 12-5 am. Was plenty of time to charge all electronics, but my husband was not able to sleep with his cpap.
These things were not deal breakers - it was a lovely place with wonderful staff. Just good to have reasonable expectations!

Beautiful location and glass windows to enjoy the park. Right inside Masai Mara. Buffet was good nightly.
There is NO power from 11 pm till 5 am everyday. Also from 2-5 pm NO power. The showers were NOT hot and barely warm which makes it very difficult to shower on cold mornings with no heat at all. Ran out of soda flavor but they didn't bring in more. This place is close to being highly rated but the no power and no hot showers isn't acceptable for the price. Pool is also ice cold and unusable for more than a minute

Great pool and other facilities to relax ... friendly staff and good food selection ...
The light sensors in the modern glass cabins are an annoyance ... old school light switches would be better ...

This hotel completely exceeded our expectations. The hotel is 3 years old, so everything is super new. They have a very nice gym, pool, rooms ( made out completely of glass) and the installation are amazing. My highlight of this place is the service and food. A big applause to Daniel, Patrick for making our stay amazing and to Olle for being the best guide ever.
Regarding food I cannot understand why there is comments saying that it is not good. This is not the case. It is very healthy, with a lot of spices and lot of options. We loved the food.
I cannot thinks of anything. Amazing hotel!

nothing...
It was full board hotel and Breakfast lunch dinner all of them were terrible. Me my wife and my child we couldn't find to eat anything. They were serving not fresh meals from the previous days. As the hotel located in rural area we couldnt find any other option to eat. We suffered a lot and we couldn't change the hotel due to non refundable option. We payed a big money for a day. Totally dissapointment...

Jambo Mara Safari Lodge was the best choice for a weekend out with family. The staff members were amazing! very kind, helpful and very professional; Mr. Daniel, Mr. Danson and Mr. Robinson really stood out. The best part is that the hotel helped me surprise my husband on his birthday with cake and a maasai celebration! this was memorable. We got a free room upgrade-this room was spectacular. The location of the lodge is ideal! we got to experience one of the best game drives courtesy of Mr. Daniel (thanks again). Great place! great staff! great food!

We got an upgrade from the wooden cottages to one of the glass cottages, which were amazing. Such cool design and really comfortable. The staff, especially the gentleman that served us at the dining hall, were extremely friendly and helpful.
The food was good and the chefs were always keen to chat about their meals.
The hotel has one huge beautiful pool, perfect for a midday cool down.
We sat on the deck a couple of evening having sun-downers, with such a serene and beautiful view.
We booked a Safari through the lodge, and the safaris are spectacular. I would do it again any time. We saw the big 5 before lunch time, which is unprecedented. Having a picnic in the middle of the Masai Mara with a giraffe in the distance is just something you can't explain to anybody - definitely a highlight in my life. The guides are all also in constant contact, so they actively make a plan to get you to the wildlife sightings - you won't be able to do this on your own.
The payment of the safari became such a mess that it took away a lot of the wonderful sights we saw earlier the day. The quoted price was $180 dollars (which is already a steep price). We did the entire safari and when we got back they suddenly wanted another $160 on top of the $180, with all kinds of stories and explanations. It was really uncomfortable and gross to say the least. And it felt like nobody at the hotel reception would assist us with this, even the morning we left this continued. Please don't treat your guests like this, it detracts from the absolutely beauty of the place.

The lodge ambience and the staff service were exceptional
Though located in the wild Masai Mara Reserve , the lodge makes you feel at home and cozy . With an additional fee; they can plan a safari tour with a masai guide and provide picnic for your tours .
Worthy of mention is the manager; Mr Daniel and Dunson - the dining supervisor ; they were really kind. Would visit again and recommend facility for a wonderful safari and holiday experience.
The light goes off at mid night and comes back on at 5am; because they have to conserve energy; but on the brighter side, it helps your sleeping

The beds were very comfortable I slept withing seconds and the food was decently good

The Lodges are amazing, it is safe and secure, the staff is amazing very welcoming and helpful to the maximum. The place is amazing, the bed is comfortable, hot water is there. Dason from the restaurant is amazingly helpful and provides a very welcoming customer experience.
The electricity cuts are an issue, there should be some rechargeable lanterns probably or any alternative since it gets absolute darkness at night. The pool was not very clean and the food isn’t diverse, but got the same feedback about the food from most properties in Masai Mara.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly more than anywhere I have ever been
We were actually sad to leave
The rooms were clean and had an amazing view
The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable which was very important after a long day on game drives
Sound isolation in the room itself was decent
Overall I absolutely loved it and my expectations were exceeded
While the food was great the variety was a bit lacking
Prepare to hear everything that is happening in the bathroom next to you 😅
