I really loved this place. It is surrounded by nature, and you can hear birds singing and other animal sounds day and night. It is run by kind and helpful people, and there are two friendly dogs and a parrot in the house. I enjoyed an excellent vegan breakfast every morning. I recommend this bed&breakfast for those who are seeking counterbalance to the city life.

Probably best stay in my life. Very charming, homely location with pool, hammocks, and view of the wildlife Good breakfast and great dinner cooked by Maureen. Hosts very helpful by sharing information and booking activities. Loved the many stories and wildlife knowledge of Charlie. A must stay in the region.

We had a spacious room connected to the house. The fan was more than enough to keep you cool. The outdoor living space was fantastic. You still felt quite private and it overlooked the beautiful gardens of the massive block of land were you can watch all the different birds fly through. The blue healers were gorgeous and friendly. The owners are very helpful with fantastic recommendations. Make sure you have dinner here. Its the best you'll get in costa rica. A perfect place to come back to after exploring all the nearby activities. Small village nearby if you need any supplies.
No belgium chocolate on my pillow!

the main house is overlooking a beautiful garden in which we had a lovely small cabin with a veranda to watch the birds and wildlife… Breakfast at the main house was very nice, sitting at large tables with other guests. Perfect
location to visit Rincon de la Vieje NP and other places in the area.

This place was amazing the energy was exactly what I was needed. The staff was there for us all the time, they helped us to book the activities. The dinner was delicious and I love the common area you can share experience with other travelers!!! Birds were around I felt in paradise.
The shower was cold, but I didn’t report or I’m sure they would take care :)

This is a property that is very cared for, and loved. As is said, in the title, it is planted in yLang ylang trees, orchid itrees, another aromatics. It really feels like home and the dogs and parrot make it even more so. Has been mentioned, it is very well situated as far as close to the park and to the tour for the waterfall. One of the best parts of the trip was having dinner, which was delicious, but in addition, because Campo seems to attract, interesting people, dinner was delightful, informative, and especially warm in terms of our conversation. Breakfasts were great and filling; often lunch was not really necessary.

The hosts were very kind and let us check in early and they had craft beer for sale
It was perfect

tranquil and relaxing
annoying dogs, pool looked little inviting for a swim, no lunch/dinner

Nice location with a lot of birds in the garden. Breakfast is ok, you can also have dinner here, by joining the home cooked meal (excellent). Which is also a nice way to meet other travellers, as the meals are served at one big table. But the owners don’t push this, they also happily point to nice restaurants in the area. Cabinas made out of old sea containers are well made, with semi-outside showers.
Cabinas can use some maintenance, the years are beginning to show. There is no aircon, which at night is no big issue as it cools down quite nicely, but during the day the cabinas get quite hot.

casa rural was remote and quiet- with incredible people who took care of a diverse, international group of folks visiting CR for experiencing the region
that I couldn’t stay a little longer

very peaceful location, perfect for visiting the waterfall and the airport. The central common area is lovely and cosy with dogs and a bird and homemade meals for dinner are lovely and feels like home.
Bedroom decor needed updating, also hot water in the shower only lasted a couple of minutes and then went cold. no hairdryer etc.

The peace and quiet and the location to the national park, the nice people - both staff and guests, the two dogs, the parrot Cookie, the wonderful garden, the cosy atmosphere in the courtyard, the rocking chairs and hammocks. The idea of living in a container-based cottage in the middle of the forest. The breakfast was also good. And the tips for activities and restaurants in the area were fantastic!
We unfortunately had a lot of ants (I mean a lot) and also larger spiders in the room. This is certainly to be expected in nature to a certain extent. A better sealing of the door and the outside shower against (smaller) insects and a mosquito net would have been good. Also, it would have been nice to point out that the pool is not always filled and that there was no wifi or any kind of mobile access in the cottages. It would also have been great if Booking would have more clearly marked the taxes that are added to the price.

I expected another room (separate unit), but as it was low season and I was alone in the whole hotel, so I got the room in the main building.
It was more than ok though. The property owner were very nice and helpful, breakfast was good. Recommendations about attractions nearby were great.
nothing especial

Location was super close to Las Pailas sector of Rincon de la vieja national park as well as Catarata La Leona. The owner was very helpful and kind in offering recommendations/suggestions. The room was very private, comfortable and surrounded by nature. Coffee in the room!! Breakfasts were delish and if you get to have dinner, do it! The dogs, Blue and Lily, and the parrot Koki, were an added bonus. Blue and Lily are so friendly and Koki is constant entertainment.

Beautiful surroundings, tasteful colourful decoration, lovely people running the hotel, a lot of information about the area and recommendations about where to eat, lovely animals, lush garden, beautiful natural pool, nice hammocks and relaxing atmosphere
Room: we did not know that the toilet was not in a separate room- this was a bit uncomfortable. There was no door to the toilet, it was separated from the rest of the room with a wall. Also our room was in the main yard and at night it was very noisy as people stayed in the yard till late, which they did, at the communal yard area- if we would have known the setup we would certainly have booked one of the containers. Lastly, we would have liked it if there was room service (= our room being made up after we leave for the day)
Breakfast: delicious but not much

The property is really unique, it has a lot of character and the garden is beautiful. Everything was really clean and comfy, we really enjoyed our stay!
The gardener was really friendly and showed us around letting us taste some local fruit and sharing it with him :)
The dinner was really good but a bit expensive for the amount of food. Also the breakfast was delicious but again not enough…

Beautiful location, including walking trails, very kind and helpful host who'll make you feel at home and share his local knowledge

Breakfast was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful staff. The couple who run this place makes you feel like home. Its a great cozy place in the middle of greenness. The room was clean but was old and could use some touch up to improve comfort, specially on bed. But overall very lovely experience staying in this place and I would definitely go back again.

The common areas are very nice and well decorated, it is very calm, the breakfast is good. The location is great if you want to be close from the Rincón or La Leona.
The room seemed in better state on the pictures: the paint is not very fresh and the furniture looks old.

Stylish accommodation with a unique atmosphere.
Excellent location near the NP and other destinations.
Breakfast was quite small ...

The container is very comfy and is very well equipped. I loved the big bed, the chairs on the terrace, the outdoor shower, the petanque spot and the natural swimming pool the most. Not to forget the fantastic meals prepared by Maureen and the helpfulness of the host family.
Just a recommendation: some additional hooks or possibility to put wet towels to dry would be great.

Set in beautiful surroundings, with gardens everywhere and a lovely little natural dipping pool to cool off after hot days. The room we had was really nice and private, with a semi-outdoor shower and a nice deck for birdwatching. We had to leave very early the day of our departure, so they packed us a great breakfast to-go.
If you are not traveling by car, it is definitely located a bit out of the way. Just be ready for lots of walking/biking!

Quiet area, very good breakfast and dinner. The shower in the cabin was wonderful. The host is very kind and helpful.
Dirt road entry to the property a bit rough, best if driving AWD, but like other areas in Rincon de la Vieja.

Very good breakfast (we had the tico breakfast). Beautiful garden with lots of birds to see. Very helpful and attentive owners. Two very cute and cuddly dogs were a plus!
The toilet doesn't have a door and you have to walk to the other side of the room to get to the sink. The matress of the bed was very uncomfortable. Hardly any wifi coverage. The hotel is located in a remote area without any food options at night, so it would be helpful if the hotel would offer some snacks to buy, or access to the kitchen to fix your own dinner.

Everything was perfect for us, the nice room, the great food cooked by Maureen and the area was spectacular. We will be back soon.

The hostel is really beautiful and surrounded by lots of nature! I could probably spend a full day on the terrace there and not leave at all. The host was also very nice & had great recommendations for dinner spots.
The room itself wasn't the most comfortable and clean in our opinion. It was ok, but with the price we expected maybe a little more :)

Incredible food and great location, we were very close to beautiful hikes and also enjoyed sitting on the terrace watching the birds. The check in was very easy communication was great.

Very accommodating owners and excellent food. Very warm decor
Drive up to the property a bit bumpy. Glad we had 4 wheel drive.
