Amazing location and views, friendly staff and delicious food.

The location was amazing. We had delicious breakfast and dinner daily at the property and the dinners were 5* and really gourmet food.

There were only 2 small negatives. More than 2 towels would have been great and there was no mirror with seating and lighting for my wife to do her makeup.

A stay that will never ever be forgotten - what an experience

What a wonderful stay and the views are just absolutely amazing. Between our hosts and their staff, they ensured our stay will remain a memory for life. And then the dinners , well these were superb. What an experience.

There is absolutely nothing not to like here. And if there was any issue , we know it would have been attended to immediately.

An absolute gem nestled in Gansbaai, Romans Villa surpassed our expectations! The breathtaking sea views were the perfect backdrop to a truly unforgettable stay. Tucked away in a gated community, the private beach access added an exclusive touch to our experience. The accommodations are not only modern and stylish but also very comfortable, ensuring a restful retreat. However, what truly sets this establishment apart is its exceptional staff whose genuine warmth and attentiveness made us feel like cherished guests throughout our stay. The culinary offerings are nothing short of exquisite, with both breakfast and dinner exceeding all expectations.

Very nice but a bit pricey compared to other similar options at the Western Cape.

Wine choice was extremely limited—despite extensive wine list. None of the wines I ordered were available. That made the dinner a much less pleasant experience. And something which can easily be avoided.

Die Lage war perfekt, direkt am Meer . Wir waren das zweite Mal dort und wir wurden wieder mit großer und herzlicher Gastfreundschaft empfangen. Das Essen war sehr gut, das Zimmer wieder einwandfrei. Aber was am wichtigsten ist : der persönliche Kontakt zu den Gastgebern war wieder hervorragend, besonders zu betonen sind dabei die Weinkenntnisse des Gastgebers, der immer wieder zu überraschen weiß.

Great location above the sea

The location is absolute fantastic in a gated area really save. The staff including the owners was very nice with Avela always having a smile on his face. The rooms are nice but even nicer is the overall location of the guesthouse above the sea. The breakfast was outstanding and we very much enjoyed the stay. Thanks to Nynke and Ernst and all the staff for a great stay

If there are small criticisms we would make the following small improvement possibilities; 1.) The terraces of the two Mastersuites could be separated and 2.) maybe there could be a little chain to clarify that the terraces are not for the public. 3.) The windows which we on the back of the room were not able to darken. But this is only little improvement possibilities

Romans Villas was just beautiful and the view took our breath away. We enjoyed everything about our stay, from the walks along the private beach to the amazing dinners prepared by our fabulous hosts. The attention to detail in everything was truly appreciated.

Great accomodation!

The property was amazing, the views were great, a bit of a shame that the weather was overcast whilst we were there but obviously this can’t be helped! Welcome drink and wine in the room on arrival was a lovely touch.

The property is quite remote - we only stayed for one night as we were driving along the garden route but would recommend hiring a car if staying for longer.

Frühstück/HP waren sehr, sehr gut und ist absolut empfehlenswert. Die komplette Location, unser Zimmer und v.a. der sehr persönliche, herzliche, unkomplizierte und immer aufmerksame Service, um besser zu sagen, das wundervolle Staff, Ambiente, Style....sind rundum super. Uns hat gar alles so gut gefallen, dass wir direkt wieder gebucht haben.

Lovely relaxing place with wonderful staff!

It’s a lovely villa just above the sea with great views! A little walkway leads directly down to the beach - perfect white sand and blue waters (cold ;)) Everybody at the Romans Villa is friendly and will help You with anything You ask. Food is delicious and the Bar is equipped very well (even 4 different Grappas) Thank You everybody at the Romans Villa for lovely days in Gansbaai - we will be back!

I highly recommend having a (rental-) car as the location is remote - relaxing of course but You need a car to get anywhere.

A perfect stay in Gansbaai

Romans Villa was a surprise with its great location, views and facilities. The staff all very pleasant and helpful esp as they gave us a later check out as we had got up early to go shark diving and needed a shower.

Sehr freundliche Hosts und wunderbare Lage des Hotels. Wale können von der Terrasse aus beobachtet werden. Wir haben abends sehr fein gegessen. Der Style des Hotels ist top.

Wir haben ein Luxuszimmer mit Meerblick gebucht. Das Zimmer war eher mit teilweisem Meerblick. Das nächste Mal würde ich besser drauf achten, welches Zimmer ich buche und eines mit Balkon und nicht mit Patio buchen. Unser Zimmer war etwas hellhörig.

The main areas of the guesthouse are amazing and the staff were fantastic.

Beautiful estate and wonderful views. Friendly staff and excellent food and cappuccinos.

Unfortunately there was a mix-up with the room we were allocated and sadly the room did not live up to our expectations. However the friendly staff made every effort to make our stay a memorable one.

Everything except .... the humidity in the room. Otherwise the room is great. Service and location was awesome. It's like having a private beach with crystal clear water to yourself. The restaurant there was also very good.

The most luxurious and friendly place to stay in the Gansbaai area.

Our hosts and their staff were wonderful. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and will return again in the future. We have already recommended it to our friends. Our room was superb and the meals including breakfast were 5 star. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. Next time we will stay longer!!
