As soon as you step through the front door you’ll be greeted by memories of staying with your grandparents. This place is meant to be your home away from home, not somewhere that is stark and sterile. The house itself covers just over 1,100 square feet and sleeps 8 people. There is a queen sized bed in the master bedroom, 2 twin bunk beds in the spare bedroom, and a queen sized sofa sleeper in the living room. The mostly level yard is perfect for kids to play in or you can relax on the large covered front porch.

This was my third stay a
at this property. Fall of 2019, July 2024 and this stay: August 1-10.
Asvolunteers at The ARK Encounter this place is totally perfect! Clean, close, pretty and very safe neighborhood. The little store just before your turn off for Sunset Drive and the Mexican Restaurant almost right beside The ARK were handy with good food and hours.
Can hardly wait to return around this time next year!

Oh my birds greeted us, a squirrel had coffee with me (I was enjoying the quiet porch sitting), I went in to fix breakfast and a baby deer was in the backyard eating grass, & then our final day there 2 small baby jack rabbits were wishing us well on our trip as they ate grass & frolicked in the morning dew. Best stay ever!

This little cottage is exactly as you see in the description and that was a relief. This was my first experience with VRBO and was a little reluctant, but found out there was no need for that. We enjoyed it so much and there were so many things provided that we didn't even need to pack all we did. I especially LOVED the bed in the main bedroom, it was so comfortable, much more so than in my own home. We have nothing but good things to say about this home. Well worth every penny.

We were traveling from New Hampshire to Florida and wanted our two grandsons to see the Ark. I found the sunset cottage, which was close by and it was perfect for our two night stay. The boys loved the fact that there were games and puzzles and Amy and Charles thought of everything. It was a very comfortable stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night lodging. It provided perfect accommodations for my family. The house was clean, spacious, and a very sweet reminder for my mom of her childhood.

Property was SO close to the Ark Encounter! It was great. We were able to come back to the house for some lunch and a break before going back for more! (Just make sure you keep your parking receipt and that you get wristbands before leaving the park and you can get right back in.)

Great rental. Wasn’t sure about the neighborhood when we first arrived it all was well. The property provided a much needed break for us!
Loved the close proximity to the Ark.

Our stay here was amazing! The home was roomy and comfortable for us visiting the ark encounter. We loved the location and property the house was on. The kitchen was by far my favorite, it made me homesick for my grandma's home with the vintage table and pie safe. Thank you for opening up such a snuggly nook of Kentucky to our family!

When my youngest was small he told his Pops his name was Farmer John and he farmed chickens down on the Strawberry River. (He was about 4 and had never been to or that we knew of even heard of the Strawberry River.). His Pops called him Farmer John a lot after that and my son still brings it up often. His Pops has since passed so on this trip when we passed the Strawberry River sign it brought up memories, but, after seeing that sign, pulling up to this old style farm house and walking in and seeing all the chicken deco was great for him! He said “welcome to Farmer John’s chicken farm”. The house was great and the neighborhood was perfect. No noise no traffic in and out of the subdivision other than those that belong. We had a very pleasant stay. The host were caring enough to call and check on us during the storms we were having, that was great of them! If we are ever back in the area again we will definitely hope to be lucky enough to stay at the “Chicken Farm’ again!

We wanted a place to stay near our destination and thought this cottage would be convenient, but we underestimated how wonderful the lodging would be! The cozy living room was perfect for TV watching, and the kitchen table was a precious meeting place. Friendly neighbors and breathtaking views along with the soft creaking of the solid wood floors made for some precious memories!

Our stay at this lovely home was wonderful and cozy. A simple, homey place awaits you during your stay in Williamstown.
We were 5 minutes down the road from the Ark Encounter, which was our main destination during our stay. We ate in for breakfast and dinner, which worked out just fine. Our two kids enjoyed the bunkbeds and pretended they were “pirate ships” the whole time. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable to sleep and live in. We had regular communication with the owners- very kind people and attentive to our needs. We would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The Christmas decorations were a nice touch, as well as the little things provided for our stay. They had a snack basket, toiletries, bedding, dish soap, garbage bags, towels, wash clothes, coffee filters and so on. We even enjoyed there being only one television in the home. After our days of being out at the Ark and Creation Museum, we enjoyed movies in the evening as a family. The home was located close to everything we needed. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This home reminded me of visiting my grandmother. It was nice and cozy with a family feel. It was close to the Ark Encounter.

This property was close to the ARK Encounter. It was fun staying in the home with the older style kitchen. Brought back many memories. The only problems were the dog next door was barking all night our last night there which made it hard to sleep. Also, I slept on the hide-a-bed in the living room. Two of our nights there was a storm that went through at night with lots of lightning. Made it hard to sleep when the blinds don't cover the entire window.

Hosts were excellent! From general communication to recommendations they were quick to respond. House is very well maintained in a quiet neighborhood. Minutes from the Ark and short 40 min ride into Cincinnati (zoo and aquarium). Would definitely stay again if in the area!

Clean, quiet and quirky. The bed in the master suite was comfortable with lots of supportive pillows. Bathroom a little small with an old fashioned feel. Overall: a charming throwback to visiting Grandma’s house.

The neighborhood was more crowded than I expected but it was quiet. I was however, woken on multiple occasions during the night by trains.
The location was great. Very close to the Ark and not very far from the Creation Museum. A nice place to stay if you are visiting both places.

A quiet atmosphere in an old country home! Charles and Amy have created a cozy place to get away, and the access to the Ark Encounter and the interstate are so easy.

We came to stay at this house as we were visiting the Ark Encounter with our grandkids. We all enjoyed the house, the beds and the bunnies in the back yard. That was so fun! The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and eating needs. Great dishwasher. Disappointed that there was no washer and dryer, but the stay was great.

This sweet and comfortable country home was in a quiet neighborhood. It was a central location for the town, restaurants, the Ark Encounter, the Creation Museum and to Lexington for a Bourbon tour. We would end our day with peace and quiet on that front porch. Very enjoyable stay!
