About this cabin rental
Buckstone Log Cabin is rustic yet luxurious. It is well appointed with an industrial style kitchen, open plan dining, and living area with a cozy wood burner. There is an additional utility area with a fridge, freezer, ice machine, washer dryer and preparation area for any BBQs and outside activities.
There are 5 bedrooms, each with crisp white bed linen and towels. There is one en-suite in the master bedroom, other bedrooms are linked to a shower block of contemporary design with private cubicles accessed via the main corridor. The Log Cabin enjoys private grounds of half an acre, perfect for family games and BBQs.
The cabin sleeps 14 and has proven particularly popular with multi-generation families and small groups (3 sets of parents with up to 8 children is perfect). Adult only groups are ideally a maximum of 10 adults sleeping in the cabin as the bunkrooms are designed for children and you may find it a little cosy.
The property is for a maximum of 14 people. If your group is larger than 14 (including adults and children) please enquire for additional information and costs for camping.
The cabin is dog heaven, the grounds are fenced (although not totally dog proof). And there are lovely walks in the woods straight from the front door. Usual dog rules apply: please bag and bin any mess, and do not allow dogs on the furniture / beds / sofas. If you would like to bring dogs there is an additional £20 per dog per night.
Please note this is NOT a party house. Noise travels easily in the countryside and we do have neighbours with whom I would like to stay friends.
Rates
£1400 minimum two night stay
£1700 three night stay (additional £300 per night thereafter)
* Minimum 3 night stay on Bank Holiday weekends.
* Christmas and NY are charged at a higher rate. Please email for details.

Exceeded expectations. The photos cannot capture the true glory of the setting: an extended log cabin nestling in a large grassy area, surrounded by forest. We had beautiful weather, which helped, but even if the weather hadn't been so good I think we would still have had a great stay. Lots to do and see and in the local area: the Forest of Dean, Wye Valley, Coleford and Monmouth within easy reach. We also went swimming and had. a sauna at Keeper's Pond in the Brecon Beacons near Abergavenny - a 40 minute drive. The 6 and 3 year olds in the party had a wonderful time playing outside and exploring the forest, while the adults relaxed, ate outside, sat around the fire in the evening. Catherine, the host, is incredibly helpful and easy to communicate with. She came to visit on the first evening to check we were ok. The one upstairs bedroom is very warm in warm weather, but the occupants slept with the stable door half open. The cabin has an unbelievably well resourced kitchen; we even baked a cake! And tv's in every room, although we never really used them.
We would definitely go back. It is the best family rental that we have experienced. If you like nature, quirkiness, getting away from it all, you'll like this.

We had a wonderful weekend staying at Buckstone. The accomodation was clean, spacious and magical and catered for everything we needed to celebrate my Father's 70th birthday with 7 adults, 7 children and a dog. We were able to tick everything off the planned list including meals around the huge dining table, camp fires, a bbq, a game of rounders and a woodland walk. The surroundings are lovely and scenic. I would highly recommend staying at Buckstone. Thank you Catherine! ⭐️

Catherine was a great host- left us to it all weekend but was available on the phone etc.
Cabin was great- facilities to cook for a large group of adults and comfortable beds for everyone, even adults in bunks.

Buckstone Log Cabin is situated in a stunning, rural spot. Catherine was very communicative and helpful with advice and local information. The cabin was spotless, spacious and has superb cooking facilities. It was a shame our stay was not a bit longer so that we could have fully appreciated the cabin and local area. Thank you, Catherine.

This was our second stay at this wonderful property. Catherine the owner is a lovely lady, very attentive and accommodating. The location in the middle of the woods was perfect for us, peaceful and secure for the children and dog to wander in the large paddock without us worrying. Super to have such a range of wildlife on our doorstep. The children loved spotting deer and badgers and the birdwatcher in the family had a wonderful time. The cabin is comfortable and had everything we needed to cater for all 14 of us. This is a really super place to stay and we hope to come back for a third visit.

Catherine was very helpful during booking and right through to our checkout, she is a lovely person relaxed and friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable. The cabin was perfect, safe for our children, comfortable, and well equipped including the ice machine and football table! We all loved the camp fire and large secure grass are to play in. Set right in the heart of the woods we really enjoyed exploring the woods and were delighted to see badgers. Thanks for a perfect short break. All 13 of us loved it.

The cabin was fantastic, spacious, so clean and a great layout with everything you could possibly need for a perfect group stay! Catherine was welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The kitchen/dinning/lounge combination was a great communal space & the kids loved both the football table and outdoor freedom ! Thank you Catherine … it could not have been a better! Pictures on the site don’t do it enough justice!

Lovely! Super for a fairly large group, very well equipped. Extremely comfortable beds and spotless white bed-linen with plenty of towels. Ample toilets and showers with hot water. Lots of fridge/freezer space and good cooking facilities including bbq and fire pit. Good communication with host and immediate replies to queries. Would thoroughly recommend

This lodge is amazing. So peaceful and quiet and surrounded by lovely walks. Close distance to the local pub and a short drive to a super market and other amenities. The lodge has two double rooms, a twin room and two further rooms with 2 bunk beds in each. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large table and benches. Comfy sofa and sky TV are a welcome addition. As is the outdoor space and outdoor games supplied. If I had to pick one thing, the push button showers were disappointing - but there were plenty and they were lovely and warm. Highly recommend!

Living room/dining area much bigger than photos show. Extremely well equipped with everything you need for a long weekend family get together. We were two families and grandparents - 6 adults and 4 children 3 to 5 years old. Very safe and they had a wonderful time running around outside and going on the woodland walks without us having to get in a car. We had the same sense of adventure as camping, but with the ease of a well equipped house. Cooking over a great fire pit with some wood provided.
