The keys were in the front door so access was very easy. An excellent basket of assorted items, along with a freshly baked loaf & flapjack, was a pleasant & welcoming surprise.
The WiFi & internet connection was not working according to the laminated sheet provided & even when we piggy backed on to the next door property’s connection,it was very weak.
The water pressure on the shower was a problem which Edward was going to rectify at the end .

Great location, very friendly greeting and generous basket of food items including lovely home made loaf. A ideal location for exploring the River Wye and the Forest of Dean
No issues with our stay.

Gorgeous views, cosy cottage, nice welcome basket. Toddlers were accommodated with stair gate, high chair and travel cot.

Ideal for exploring the Wye Valley, well appointed, high quality accommodation in a lovely spot with breathtaking views.
Not much to not like, could hear conversations/TV in the next door cottage but not really an issue.

The views, the attention to detail, the quality of the fixtures and fittings; all top notch
We loved the underfloor heating but found it difficult to control.....admittedly it was unseasonably mild but we were too hot especially during the night. Hot water pressure was very weak.

Stunning location, fantastic cottage, lovely helpful owners. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and can't wait to be able to return to the peace and tranquillity of Valley view. The cottage is very well set up and is ideal for wheelchair users. I appreciated that it was all on one level with no odd steps which you often find in cottages. The welcome hamper was stupendous and tailored to my dietary needs. Marion's home made spelt bread was delicious and so were the oaty bars! I couldn't have wanted more.
The weather, it did rain a lot!

Beautifully crafted, well maintained apartments. We rented two apartments for our group (unlocking the connecting door allowed our travel group to easily mingle between apartments). The back lanes require a car, confidence and a GPS for most to negotiate - but the lanes had little traffic. The apartments are spacious, well stocked and simply so comfortable that I could see settling in for a long stay.

Beautiful scenery. A quiet location with plenty of land to walk a dog. Comfortable beds, and amenities to a very high standard. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Edward took us to the local pub, where We had a lovely meal, and then picked us up as well. Also, a welcome basket of goodies and a freshly baked loaf of bread. were much appreciated.

The location of the cottage was perfect. Easy drive to Brecon Beacons, Wye Valley and Malvern Hills. Beautiful views from the property's patio. Welcome basket was waiting for us, full of some tasty goodies, including home made bread, cake and marmalade. They were all delicious. Lots of green space around the property for our dog to run around in. Lovely local pub The Royal Arms offering some delicious food. Beautiful and peaceful surrounding. Thank you to Marian and Edward.

Thatch Close Cottages are situated in rolling countryside and provided much needed peace and quiet. The cottage was extremely well equipped and met all our needs. We particularly enjoyed the welcome basket with delicious home made bread, biscuits and mince pies! There are also lovely walks on the doorstep.
Couldn’t fault it.

We had a wonderful stay at Thatch Close, and I could not recommend the cottage highly enough. Both the cottage itself and scenery were wonderful, and just what we needed. Marion and Ed our hosts were also fantastic company, and could not do enough to ensure we had a lovely stay, and Marion's home made bread is to die for!
4.8
The hospitality from Edward and Marion was exemplary. Edward was an absolute pleasure to chat too! The property had the best view and overlooking a combine harvester go back and forth while drinking a cup of tea was a joy to behold. Plenty to do nearby and to take a dog with you. Also a good area for children.

Cosy, spotless and well equipped. Hosts very friendly and accommodating. Welcome pack exceptional, tea, coffee, cheese, butter, eggs and bread.
Simple things like cling film, kitchen roll and tin foil also in the property.
Would recommend this property to anyone. Caters for disabled people with all equipment accessible.
Good walking in the area particularly in Symonds Yat East. Easy access to Ross on Wye and Monmouth ( when restrictions allow)
Would definitely stay here again.
There was nothing to dislike about this property
