The main floor layout is very cozy and inviting. I like that they have the restaurant, coffee shop, and bar in the building so you can choose to stay in the comfort of your hotel and still be sociable and have a nice time. The Decor is also nice. I also liked that they locked the entrance doors of the hotel from the outside after a certain time, made me feel safer.
The room size is pretty compact which I wasn’t the biggest fan of but decided to appreciate it for its cozy size. The option of a closet would also be nice and they didn’t have an iron but they did have a steamer, I like to have an iron it’s quick and no fuss.

Location , clean rooms and amazing front desk personnel.

lovely staff - great restaurant
No room service, rooms were dark - very very dark

Nice rooms
For a hotel that describes itself like this “The Woodlark hotel redefines luxury in the heart of downtown Portland.” You might think they’d have room service, or a restaurant open for breakfast, or even coffee making facilities in the rooms. But no. This is the other kind of “redefinition of luxury”. The one that’s more concerned about cost control than customer satisfaction.

Great location, super clean, friendly staff.

The Woodlark is the hotel of choice for me when traveling for business to Portland. I am in the City a couple of times each month. The interior is beautiful, the staff so friendly and accommodating, and the bed divine. They continue to make amenity enhancements the make each stay even better. Champagne or wine upon arrival. The coffee delivered to your door at the time you request. Good Coffee and their pastries are simply fabulous.
Bullard, the restaurant has changed the menu and took off two of my favorite items. The Beet Salad and the Pavlova dessert. Bring them back...... :-) Seriously, I can't think of anything I don't like about The Woodlark. Great location. Awesome staff. Wonderful rooms.

Beautiful property, comfy beds, great coffee.
Valet parking at $50 plus tip (because that’s the right thing to do) and a mandatory technology fee (for what? Staff didn’t know) is an excessive additional expense.

Bridgett at the front desk is awesome ! She is so kind and helpful, gave us great restaurant recommendations and information about the area to make our stay magical.
That we had to leave !!!!

Location.
The staff in the coffee shop in the lobby were not helpful or friendly.

I liked that there was a restaurant and cafe on location. I LOVED the boutique look. The bathroom decor was so glamorous.
Valet was supposed to send me a text/email with information to retrieve my vehicle but I had to mention twice (one the day I arrived and once the morning I left) that I never received the text. It was finally fixed about a half hour before my departure.
The room was smaller than I had expected, which would have been a problem if I was staying as a couple but thankfully this was a solo trip. I don't know that the price point was worth the available space.
The area around the hotel seemed fairly safe but a few blocks over it didn't feel safe at all (aggressive homeless and open daytime drug use) and so I stayed at the hotel for my dinner and breakfast, so thankfully there were options on site for that.

Both charming and stylish. Staff were friendly and efficient. Room was small but comfortable. Beds were excellent. The shower was to die for!
There is a lot of construction in the immediate area right now (June 2023). Also there are no coffee making facilities in the rooms, and few electrical outlets, but this is probably because it’s a wonderful old building and it’s hard to put in new wiring.

The Woodlark continues to make improvements that make the hotel a better experience. And the staff is incredible.

Hotter than heck in the tiny rooms not a chair or spot to put a suitcase. Service in the restaurant was terrible the staff was rude serving the over priced food. The wait staff in the bar were nice. Over all we will not stay again

Amazing decor, comfortable and clean bedrooms. The staff at the front counter and the front door were always super friendly. The cafe downstairs was an absolute treat!
Cannot think of a single thing to not like about this hotel!

Absolutely wonderful front desk staff, ambience of the lobby was inviting, coffee at the coffee shop was superb
Room doors slam shut and the noise from other guests coming and going was pretty loud

The staff was AMAZING. Especially Rafa and the MOD (3/10). So accommodating and welcoming. They made us feel fancy and relaxed.

Decor was incredibly beautiful - the furniture, wallpaper, and glassware at the restaurant. The bed was comfy, the location was very convenient (except the location required valet parking, which was a less-than-pleasant experience). The person who worked the happy hour at Abigail Hall on the Sunday night of our stay was so lovely. Almost lovely enough to erase the other stuff that was happening! I'd go back just for those cocktails and that burger.
I'd like to preface this by adding that we DID share this feedback upon checkout and they did end up reducing our bill. It took a LOT of things stacked to cause the disappointment overall. The biggest issue was the valet. It's just wrong to blame the customer for a miscommunication between VALET and HOTEL staff. The initial approach was more aggressive than we expected considering we'd already taken necessary steps and shared our information that was requested to receive valet parking. Another issue was the lack of transparency upon check-in (1 - daily guest fee for extras such as "robes and slippers or extra towels, fitness room, hotel overhead, staff pay (<

Such a cool, stylish hotel - the big windows invite you in! Once inside, it's a great space to enjoy. I love the quaint, classy bar-Abigail Hall. I love just sitting in the open lobby spaces with a cup of coffee. The hotel rooms have a super cool vibe and the location on Alder is perfect to get anywhere.
This is a great place to stay but the construction of the very large hotel next door is noisy come Monday morning. Very smart of Woodlark to have a white noise machine in the room for early morning.

lovely coffee shop in the lobby
paid for larger room, wasn’t worth it, decor made the room seem cold

Great modern style, great bar, great coffee in the morning.
Took me a while to find the blow dryer.
And the team fixing the (really good) coffee in the morning was a bit uncoordinated, which made them take 10 minutes to fix a Flat White.

The staff were amazing and accommodating. I asked for an early check-in and was able to come in at 9:30am! From greeting & opening our car and the front hotel doors for us every single time, I really couldn’t ask for more. I forgot the name of the sweet front desk lady who had helped us, but she even sent complimentary wine to our room since we were celebrating my bf’s birthday! We went to check out the coffee shop in the lobby and i ordered a matcha latte which was great. Great place to chat, study, work, or just vibe out. The decor was stunning. Our room was clean, beds comfy, nice city view, and the decor was everything! Be sure to also check out Abigail Hall (a speakeasy feel bar in the lobby) the espresso martini was fantastic. I needed to run off all the good food and cocktails I had so I also went to the gym. It was small but they have everything you need. I’d def stay here again!

Can’t say enough about how great the staff are. There’s Good Coffee in the lobby with exceedingly good coffee. Furniture was nicely appointed. Bathroom fixtures are luxe. Location was amazing.
The valet parking was super expensive.
