The house was warm and inviting. The architecture, endlessly interesting. Everywhere you turned was another well thought out detail and thoughtful design that always invited a constantly moving stream of refreshing air. Our thanks to Rachel for being such a thoughtful and attentive host. We look forward to coming back to our Santa Barbara aerie in the future! A real gem.

First of all, the pictures of this property do not do it justice. The views are spectacular from this home and the neighborhood is as cute as can be (and extremely quiet). It's near the Belmond El Encanto for drinks and dinner and just a hop, skip, and a jump to the Mission and its rose gardens, Upper East, Upper State, and downtown Santa Barbara. We have a couple of friends who are real estate agents who were dying to see the inside of this home because the architect, Jeff Shelton, is quite well known in SB. We also frequently saw people walking by and taking pictures of the home and landscaping (which is spectacular and really fits in with the style of the house). We loved the neighborhood so much that we ended up buying a home just a block away from this place. We will miss our stay here but we won't be far away. Rachel was an incredible host and whoever rents this home out next is really going to love it. Maybe I can still pop up for a drink on that balcony with the breath-taking ocean views!

Spring Vacation in the Riviera neighborhood with our golden retriever, Finnegan
From beginning to end, it was a smooth process. The owner was very responsive to any questions. It is an absolutely incredible home & the neighborhood is wonderful. Relaxing, quiet, and beautiful view! We would highly recommend it, and plan to book again next year!

Excellent
We truly enjoyed our stay. Rachel is an exceptional host. She is so attentive, responsive and welcoming. Spectacular views of the ocean, city and Channel Islands. But the true highlight was enjoying the breathtaking sunsets daily from the outdoor deck. We definitely plan to stay here again.

The Ultimate Santa Barbara Retreat!
This architectural gem offers the ultimate Santa Barbara experience. Local architect Jeff Shelton and his brother David Shelton create recognizable retreats around Santa Barbara. Here all the living spaces are on the second floor where you find the best views of Santa Barbara, Channel Islands and unbelievable sunsets viewed from the canopied veranda. The owner has a fully equipped kitchen, dining and living room all in one, all with great views. Also, upstairs, the Master bedroom has a piano, over-stuffed reading chair and cross-ventilation between east and west balconies. The Master bath includes separate room for toilet, shower, plenty of closet space, jets in the tub and a washer/dryer both upstairs and downstairs. Downstairs there are two guest rooms and another full bath. My husband and I enjoyed walking around the neighborhood, walking to drinks at the El Encanto Hotel and movies at the Riviera Park Theatre (SBIFF). This is a great location. You can drive anywhere downtown in 5-10 min. or for the adventurous even walk. So much to do and so easy to get around. THANKS, Rachel, we loved our time here while waiting for repairs to our home on the Riviera.
