There's a lot to say about location.
It was s(c)ituated in a premier spot, easy access, thanks to the sand piling up in front of our stairs (my family having grown up in Scituate, have been to every beach their is and agreed it was sandy, nice...and no rocks!) , and directly across from the store was so much fun (and safe) for the kids, they loved it!
I had great communication with the host..I made a comment about the lack of seating for eating, as other renters mentioned in their comments, and he found a table for 4 plus the 5 bar stools worked out quite well, with still plenty of space to more around!
One thing I might suggest is a outdoor dining table with bar top height chairs so can see over the horizontal railing. ( I did bring 4 folding chairs for the table he said was near the grill and that met our needs for outdoor coffee, games, etc.)
I will definitely rent again
Thanks

Amazing location right on the beach and steps from an adorable corner store/ice cream shop. Brief walk away from restaurants and the light house. The house had some quirks but all of those were more than over looked by how amazing Bob and his family were at making our family feel right at home for the week we were there. We could not have asked for a better week.
Suggestions for future guests: The lighter sleepers should sleep in the back 2nd floor bedrooms, closer to the living room tended to hear the carried noise.
Yes, there is only seating for 5 people for eating in the house. Bring folding chairs if you need/want more. we have no issue with laps.
Yes there are TVs but we couldnt find remotes. But all of the TVs had HDMI cords for easy laptop hook ups. We didnt spend a lot of time with TVs. The Xfinity Wifi was stable and great.
The Cell service is not great in the back deck or beach area (not the houses fault, its a beach). Verizon was a problem, TMobile was less bad. Plan accordingly.
Bring Sheets and bath towels. Things provided: FULLLL kitchen (including all grilling items, crockpot, coffee maker, pots/pans, cutlery, it was impressive). Also, pillows, comforters, 2 fans in the master, hand towels, and beach towels. also 2 life jackets for the 1 person kayak.
Quirks- the light switches dont make sense to most of us, it was a running joke, but thats mostly a new england thing. oh and dont park UNDER the house. its thick sand and your car may get stuck.

If you looking for a place to stay to look at ocean this place works. The house is showing rental age but works! I am not a fan of bringing own sheets and towels so be aware of that. Little more or different seating on deck would be great - maybe a bar chairs so you can get a full water view. Along with having more tables for eating. We were only family of 4 so it worked but if you had more people there isn’t a lots of sitting and being able to put a plate down. Kitchen was nice and gas stove was very nice. We stayed outside all day so that was perfect and spent a day in Plymouth which was very nice. Again ocean view is priceless

Wonderful location and gorgeous sunrises. Only speed bump was check in as no information was forwarded prior and requests to owner went unanswered. Needed to contact vrbo which came through for us! Overall good experience.

Even with the extreme heat, we were able to enjoy another year at this wonderful property! Can't wait for next year!!!

I was notified 1 day before leaving that they double booked the week we were there so we were losing a whole day of stay.
Bedroom TVs didn’t work, the fans didn’t , an either did the dish washer. When it rained the windows leaked we had to make sure we kept cleaning jt up. Screen door broke. Only one king bed the rest is all twin bunk beds. Wish we knew that sooner as well.

The house was great. Only a short walk to downtown to shops and restaurants. Has a great deck with a large outdoor sectional that’s great for relaxing.

A Beautiful House in a Great Location
The house was clean and bright with high ceilings, and full of light from the wall of windows overlooking the ocean. We loved the open floor plan with a large kitchen island with seats for 5. The living area was comfortably furnished with attractive, easy-to-clean seating. The kitchen was well-equipped with all the cookware and utensils that we needed. One reviewer mentioned that there was no dining table other than the kitchen island. I agree that would be a good addition. We did find a folding table in the closet which we used on the deck, so that helped. Maybe some folding chairs, too? We were there during a period of excessive heat so we welcomed the central air conditioning. It was so refreshing to walk into the house! The a/c did not seem to extend into the bedrooms unless the doors were left open, but that was not a problem for us. One bedroom had a fan which helped. The master bedroom had it's own balcony and we liked to leave the sliding doors open at night to listen to the sound of the waves. There was a large deck with comfortable furniture and a grill. The deck overlooked the beach which was just amazing! It was so convenient having the General Store right across the street....ice cream and candy for the kids, and supplies and adult beverages for the grown-ups. We have rented a number of vacation homes in the past, and there are always pluses and minuses. This one checked all our boxes and more! On a more serious note, the host was kind and helpful when we had to deal with a medical emergency, and we are very grateful. Fortunately, there was a happy ending. All in all, a great vacation in our beloved Scituate. Hoping to return next year!

What an amazing week! Only one rain day and that was OK too. Property was everything the listing said it was. Hoping to be able to rent again. Thanks for a great week!!!

The house was spotless when we arrived. The kitchen was well appointed and the location could not be beat! We would have liked a dining table (in or out) but other than that, we could not have asked for more and we hope to return next year.

Although the house’s view were amazing, we were quickly disappointed. It wasn’t enough that we had to pay an extra $1,000.00 bc we had 13 ppl in a house that advertises 14 ppl, they had no coffee pot, no kayak, no canoe, broken TV’s, broken ceiling fan (which I read about in a previous review), no outside grill utensils, no thing but plastic utensils in the house, the kitchen sink and faucet were put in wrong, 6 coffee mugs for 13 ppl, only gave us 3 kitchen size garbage bags, even though we recycle we had to go out and buy special bags sold by the Town of Scituate, in all the years I’ve rented houses for my family this was the worst house. But the view was very nice.

Great location, disappointed with cleanliness of house
We arrived to this house very excited and we were quickly disappointed with the condition it was in. We came upon many little issues which just seemed to pile up. The first thing we noticed was that the linens were not clean. The master bedroom blankets and pillow cases had stains and things on them (that could be scraped off with your fingernails). The masterbedroom also had an incredibly horrid strong smell that we had to air out for almost an entire day. The blankets or sheets in the other bedrooms were the same so we spent the first few hours of our stay washing them. The washing machine drawer where you put detergent in is broken so when you pull it out, water spills all over the floor. The dryer also took several cycles to dry (and yes, the lint trap was cleaned each time). The dresser in the master bedroom had old food in the top drawer and the other drawers were caving in. The bathroom door of the bathroom in the upstairs hallway did not shut. The other 3 bedrooms did not have dressers but did have closets. However, the closest were so full of junk (two of them literally top to bottom, and one of them the entire floor covered) that they were unusable. Everyone, including those in the master bedroom, lived out of their suitcases for the week. The floors were dirty, one of the ceiling fans is missing a blade, the master bedroom shower handle is about to fall off. The white furniture is ripped and stained and the deck furniture was pretty gross. Along with the grill. There is also no firepit on the deck as pictured. There was food left in the fridge, and dying flowers left on the counter. We were not happy to have paid what we did to show up to a place where we had to clean much of the first evening/night of our stay. I immediately took pictures and sent them to the property manager, within an hour of our arrival, who chalked it up to wear and tear and said he uses a highly respected cleaning company. I understand wear and tear, but dirty linens, closets so full you cannot use them, and broken items that could be fixed l cannot chalk up to wear and tear. I am hoping they took a good look at these things and cleaned some of it up for the next renters.
The biggest pros to this home are the location and the size. Being steps away from the beach was great. It is relatively quiet. The lighthouse is close and we caught some beautiful sunsets. Kids loved having ice cream across the street. We tried to make the best of our time

Great house and a great view
The house was in great shape and the owners were very easy to deal with and they gave us a ton of suggestions of things to do and places to go.. The neighbors and other locals were so nice and inviting. Such a laid back area and great escape for my family.
thanks Sharon

My family and I loved it here! So close to everything. Nice convince store with ice cream right behind the place. Beautiful views. Kids walked the beach for crabs, played in the ocean and took a short walk to the lighthouse. Took day trips to Plymouth and rode the t into Boston. Over all a great time was had by all. The owners were very helpful and their house had everything you needed including beach towels and beach chairs, nice family friendly area.
