Probably the proximity of the church with the painting of Caravaggio.... The catacombs also can be reached by foot. Small food shop is very close. Parking wasn't a big problem.
The owner speaks no language exept Italian. There was no kettle and no iron. We hardly found two different tea cups in entirely different places... Early in the morning we asked for a kettle and one more cup. The owner, who works in the cafe 300 m. away (and were you have your breakfast) brought some cups at 15:30, right in the time we took a short nap after excursions. The kettle and the iron never came... The breakfast actually is a pastry and a drink, but there was no information (and nobody told us this also on check-inn) that the cafe is closed on Mondays! Just imagine when you are comming to eat quickly before checking-out and a long trip and find out that it's their day off! It was good that the target wasn't airport that day, as we were half an hour late! As for the apartment itself: 1. It isn't a two-bedroom one! One of the beds appeared to be a sofa-bed standing at the entrance, so there was no place to sit except the kitchen; 2. An attempt to create cheap chic, but the cleaning is on a very low level (it was really unpleasant to open the shelves in the kitchen). 3. You can hear the neighbours (as well as the street) very well and they are pretty noisy. The district is unpleasant: dirty and smelly. We were happy that the stay was short.

Breakfast was taken in a coffee bar and the products were tasty.
We ended up at this location by mistake and stayed because the owner didn't want to refund our money. Unfortunately, we didn't look at the other people's reviews either, only at the high score it has on booking, namely 8.6. we arrived at 23:00 at the location, right from the entrance we were hit by a musty smell that was everywhere on the walls and ceilings. In the bathroom, the shower tub is rusty, there is mold on the shower screen, the toilet bowl was dirty, the faucet in the sink was broken and rusty. There were also cockroaches in the bedroom. Lucky I only stayed one night. I certainly do not recommend and advise the owner to make the necessary improvements so that this apartment can be used under normal conditions.

A friend and I really enjoyed La Casetta di Morena in the first place because we prefer solitude and freedom as if we inhabit our own home. Its location was very convenient to us as it is at a walking distance away from everything noteworthy in Syracuse, starting with Ortigia, going through the Archaeological Park of the Neapolis and finishing with the train station for trips to nearby beaches. The flat was equipped with all necessary kitchen appliances and toilet accessories and we noticed it could actually comfortably accommodate up to 2 more people, while at the same time looking aesthetically pleasing as becoming to Italy. As the home is of the solitary type, we saw little of our host, Danielle, but in the short time we did he made us feel extremely welcome by constantly showing his extreme joy of having us as his guests - not to mention the excellent breakfast of choice he provided for us in his cafe just about 2 minutes of walking distance away. A highly recommended place to rest in.
Noises from the neighbors could be heard.
