This is our third year at this property. The location and house continue to be wonderful. The home is comfortable and very clean. The caretaker is friendly and approachable. We've truly enjoyed our time at this house.

We arrived and thankfully Tina was home but did not have any idea we were arriving. After a bit we were able to get in and unpacked and start our vacay days. The lake is amazing! We took full advantage by renting a boat for a day and also using the kayaks!!

Quiet neighborhood. Easy access to the lake. Close to state park with lots of hiking trails.

Loved location and access to lake. Kyaks were great. This was obviously a pet friendly house, as was apparent from the pet smell. Would go back because of lake access. Clean enough

I enjoyed the house. The location was awesome. The house offered great amenities. The kitchen was nice. The only thing. There was left over condiments and food in there. Not sure of Vrbo rules. We brought food and drinks but got rid of what we brought in-upon leaving to family that lives close by.Very kid friendly with games and chalk boards in the dinning room and on the hallway doors.Previous messages were on all the boards. I would leave those cleaned off for use to new families coming in.The smell from a previous review is still there. Was there the whole 4 days. The bedroom linens did not feel fresh and the hallway bathroom did not smell fresh and disinfected.Mirrors in the bedrooms would be nice. Very beautiful area. Enjoyed the views.

The house has a strange smell. The hostess said it was from a former group cooking shellfish, but the smell never went away. The sides of the stove were covered in dirt and scum. Should be cleaned, may help. Otherwise a nice place.

Location is quiet and relaxing with an amazing view. The floors, kitchen and bathrooms were clean and bed was very comfortable, but there were cobwebs and spiderwebs on some windows. The interior really could use a fresh coat of paint. the front patio, overlooking the lake, is nice. Has a fire table, grill and heater.

Excellent, except for the lighting. We like to read but had to go out and buy a desk lamp because the lighting was not suitable for anything but watching TV. In addition not all lighting worked. But otherwise enjoyed the stay, clean house, nicely decorated and furnished. Good location with lots to do in the area

Our group of friends was very happy with our accommodations at this property. The home was spotless and very comfortable. We loved having coffee on the deck in the morning and sitting out in the evening to the beautiful lake vista. The kitchen was well appointed and we were able to grill and cook meals at our leisure. The property manager was very friendly and available to us to answer questions.

Peaceful, Quiet location
This home & location was very quiet and peaceful. The Home was spacious enough for my family of 5, the beds were all very comfortable. The neighbor & caretaker Tina, was nice and available when needed. Couple things we were informed about upon arrival... you could not use the washing machine due to low water levels. The coffee pot was taking 2 &1/2 hours to brew a pot of coffee so program it the night before, not a huge deal unless you forget to program it... And no pets on the furniture. These are all good things to know ahead of time. Otherwise our stay was very nice.

Disappointed
The house was extremely hot. Ceiling fans or A/C is needed for comfort. Found out upon check in that you can’t do laundry and take showers in the same day. There is a road that separates the house from the beach. The property manager is very nice and allows you to use her beach because the owner doesn’t have one. The floating dock wasn’t in. The only way to swim is wading through the rocky water, not easy to navigate. There is a state beach 5 minutes away that is beautiful. The water has a sandy bottom and there is a huge playground for the kids.
I did enjoy sitting on the deck every morning to watch the sun rise. The view is very pretty.

Family vaca
House was as listed. We had a great vaca despite the rain. Kayaks were a great addition, and hiking at point au roche. Would recommend rental.

Lake house getaway
Overall we had a great stay, checking in, we were told to contact Tina (next door neighbor) who would assist with getting us checked in. She told me the house was booked and she didn’t have me down. This gave us heart failure after traveling 5 hours. Turns out there was a mix up, but still had to wait 30 minutes for Tina to clean the house. When we met Tina she pointed out the inaccuracies in the listing and clarified them. The house was good sized and fit everyone comfortably. Some of the description, wasn’t accurate, washing machine cannot use if you want to use the shower. The photos of the beach area and dock are not part of the property. The “beach area” is across the street, and is not that swimmable due to the rocks. City of Plattsburgh beach is 13 min away and really nice for the kids. The kids loved the chalkboards and piano. The hammock was the biggest hit! Tina who takes care of the property is immediately next door and was really nice.

Quiet family vacation!
We were looking for a getaway this summer where we could truly relax. This property was perfect for that! We had a blast playing in the lake, fishing and peaceful kayak rides. The yard was a great size for the kids to play. We loved sitting by the fire each night and watching the stars. Tina (who takes care of the house) is fantastic! She was very helpful throughout our stay. We would highly recommend!

The house has a great location on Lake Champlain. Beautiful small quiet private beach, and great place to use kayaks or paddle boards. The state park Point au Roche is close by with numerous trails to walk around the lake along with a beautiful beach with life guards for swimming .Only downside for us was one bathroom to share with 8 people. The master bathroom had plumbing issues and owner had difficulty getting a hold of a plumber.

Beautiful spot and spacious happy place
The home was so much spacious than we expected. It was open and clean. We had a family birthday celebration and my adult children stayed at the home while we stayed on our boat. Tina next door was very gracious. And the owner was a joy to work with.

Was nice to wake up and see the Lake each morning. Nice stay. Disappointed to not have dock or some of other outdoor amenities but we had a nice stay.

Great stay, very relaxing
We had a great week in Jong's cottage. It is very clean, spacious, well equipped with new appliances and the beds are very comfortable. It was a treat to use the kayaks to go all the way to the conservation area and the marina. Being on a dead-end street, traffic is limited during the day and almost non-existent at night. We really enjoyed the view (of the lake and the horses next door) from the patio during the day and the fire pit at night. The only downside, which is out of the owner control, is the shallow shoreline with algae that makes swimming uncomfortable for some. There's a state park nearby with a nice beach if swimming is important to you. Tina, the next door neighbour who is taking care of the cleaning, has been very nice and helpful to us, giving us advice on things to do in the area and making sure nothing was missing during our stay. We will definitively recommend Jong's property to our friends and would come back next time we visit Lake Champlain.

Beautiful spot and very pet-friendly
Our group (including dogs) really enjoyed our stay. We used the kayaks, fished and went to many attractions close by. There’s so much to do and the house is on a beautiful location.

Zen Views!
LOCATION! The view while relaxing on the front porch was amazing! Being provided with kayaks was also a bonus. The trails nearby are also enjoyable. We took the ferry to Burlington VT for dinner one night and returned the next day to enjoy North Beach and a local brewery. We even drove up to Montreal for the Jazz Festival and a gourmet dinner in Old Port followed by July 1st fireworks! Amazing vacation!
