Summary of reviews
Amazing lakefront property with spectacular views, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds. Great for family vacations with water activities and beach access.
10.0
Wonderful location. Well equipped for water sports and family. Good for swimming but fish nibble! Everything included for a relaxing time.
8.0
View of the lake from back deck was spectacular. Accommodations were better than advertised. Kitchen well supplied with everyday needs. Setup with bunk house worked great for our group. Looking forward to next year!

The cottage was perfectly located half way between Montreal and Toronto so that all families could meet up for a birthday party! The weather was rainy, but the lake was warm so it didn't stop anyone from jumping in for most of the time! The cottage was well-equipped so everyone could sleep comfortably and eat all together!
The property manager was communicative and accommodating to our needs and would highly recommend this location for a short or long term stay!

We had a large group of family members and were quite comfortable in this large cottage even though the weather was simply awful this year. The cottage is located in a very nice location on the lake with great views of the water and a nice little beach with docking for a boat. The cottage is well equipped with kitchen supplies and a nice dishwasher to make cleanup easy. Overall, a very nice place to vacation for a large group and I would definitely recommend it. We plan to return once again next Thanksgiving.

This property is all about the view and access to the lake. Spectacular views and peaceful, quiet setting. Loads of seating on deck & around fire pit. Firewood was provided.
Setup of the main house good for bigger group. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking (utensils & pots/pans). Bbq provided with extra propane tanks, if needed. The separate living space is perfect for a couple with baby/small children. As mentioned in other reviews the mattresses in a few rooms could be replaced for more comfortable sleep.
Lots of movies available but no device provided to actually play. Mentions games but did not see any which was fine as we had packed our own.
Party member left behind personal item and arrangements were made quickly and easily with property management for return.

Good property that we would rent again. Great kitchen and kitchen supplies. 5 bedrooms were good for the 11 guests. 3 refrigerators/freezers are sufficient to hold a weeks worth of food. Nice sandy beach for the kids and the watercraft were well used.

Very comfortable upgraded cottage. All 11 of us were happy with the accommodations and have booked again for 2023. The cottage was well stocked with plates and cutlery for a large group like ours. All the appliances worked well including the dishwasher which was very valuable given our numbers. The cottage was nice and clean notwithstanding the fridge which needed to be better cleaned. The beds could use some renewal with better quality mattresses. The owner was very responsive to any questions and minor problems we had. Many of our group took advantage of the kayaks and paddle boat over the course of the weekend. As well, we used the firepit every evening. The kids loved it to roast marsh mellows.

Overall we (all 11 of us) were very comfortable at this cottage. It was nicely upgraded and well stocked with dishes and cutlery for our large gang. It has a nice big kitchen table so we could all eat together for our Thanksgiving dinner. We made good use of the kayaks and enjoyed the firepit each evening. Beds could have been more comfortable (higher quality mattresses required) and the fridge could have been cleaner. The owner was very responsive to our questions and was easy to reach. Overall, our entire family was pleased with the accommodations and want to return next Thanksgiving.

An amazing weekend the whole family loved it

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view and lake waterfront was amazing. We enjoyed the exterior activities such as canoe, kayak, paddle boat and swimming. The interior could have been a little clean and a few of the beds will soon need to be renewed. All in all we had a great time. I recommend this place.

It’s a gorgeous cottage, great location and wonderful vibes!!!
The cottage is at the end of a gorgeous country road with a fabulous view to the lake.
Two separated place great for us because of the kids, they could have a quite place to sleep while adults are enjoying the night. Pet friendly and comfortable beds.
Clean and all the kitchen stuff!
We had a great weekend and I would come back here some absolutely sometime end of September so the are would be more colourful with the leafs still on trees.

Wonderful stay
The cottage is very nice and spacious. Very beautiful peaceful lake.
Well stocked with your necessities. Detailed cleaning is a bit lacking.
Room descriptions need a bit of an update- pull out couch?
I would definitely return.
Thank you for a wonderful relaxing getaway

Perfect getaway
We had an awesome time. Everything was provided for us when we got there. Plenty of choices for activities in the water, which we had so much fun.

Great for big families
The property is perfect for big family getaways, especially with the separate bunkhouse. It is well equipped in the kitchen, has plenty of linens, ample lake toys/life jackets. We had an issues with the hot water but Don was responsive and super helpful. We loved hanging out on the dock and the kids loved the shallow entry. Like another reviewer said, it was too weedy to swim off the dock, however, which was a bit disappointing. The only thing I would say is that it wasn’t the cleanest, especially the bathroom in the second bunkhouse. Overall, we had a great weekend.

Had a great time , def will return for another year
The time we spent at this cottage changed the way we feel about livng life and retiring early. From beautiful sunsets to clear and calm waters. The cottage had everything you could ask for along with a fully stocked kitchen and pantry. As well as access to kayaks, canoe, even life jackets. The kids loved the sandy shore and shallows and there was so many fish great for the angler on you. We enjoyed the camp fires overlooking the lake roasting marshmallows and eating smores. Great family vacation ..we are coming back for another visit...also had a great host and property management. We only have one life to live so on that note you should rent this cottage as you will not regret it.

A quiet spot by the lake where we thoroughly enjoyed a family get away. The cottage had a large room where we could all sit and relax. The cottage was well stocked with dishes and supplies.

We love this place! Our 3rd year here and we hope to be back next year!
4.0
It's a great place, all necessary equipment, lots of recreational equipment, water toys, etc. The lake is good for boating, fishing, and little kids playing in shallow, sandy beach. It is less good for adult swimming, due to abundant weeds beyond the beach. Still, we had a great time. Owner was prompt and responsive to questions. I was not happy with VRBO lack of response, and refusal to put me in contact with owner so I could get some questions answered prior to final payment.

Our stay couldn't have been more perfect!
Everything about Hummingbird Haven was perfect for our family. It's a well equipped rental with a great location and a super view of Whitefish Lake. Every member of our family of 11 had a wonderful time there!

We needed this!
An amazing Canadian vacation. We loved the lake home and had a great time. Well decorated rooms, very homey and comfortable. Well stocked with household supplies, pillows, blanket, etc. as well as, outdoor activities like Kayaks, canoe, paddle boat and well stocked with firewood. The lake is gorgeous, the water is crystal clear. A great place to bring the family.

Great Setting for family vacation
Great spot. Fishing wasn't great (that's just how it is sometimes). Available kayaks, paddle boat, canoe were a big plus. The location on the lake was fabulous. Everything was provided (sheets, towels, etc. even spices for cooking) Had great outings to Ottawa and Kingston (with free ferry ride to Wolf Island for lunch). Great place to get the family together. (3 brothers, 2 sisters and spouses)

Spacious and Well-Equipped
This cottage is well-appointed and spacious. Technically two cottages in one, there is ample room for everyone to relax and unwind whether it be inside, on the deck or by the water. The bunkhouse comfortably provides a separate living area if you were two families renting together. The cottage had just about all the comforts from home - from a well-stocked kitchen, to board games and books. A wide sandy beach makes for easy access to the water and the dock was perfect for our ski-boat rental from Len's Cove Marina. The owners were more than accommodating, even taking me out for a ride on the skis! We strongly recommend the Rock Dunder trail nearby which offers a bit of a hiking challenge as well as a great spot to cliff-jump into the water. Everyone had a great time, kids and dog included, and we will be back again.

Great stay. Great Waterfront location.
Very nice stay. 3 families with 1-5y old children.
Proximity to to the lake with pedal boat, canoe and kayaks was a plus.
Cottage was comfortable. Be aware that there are 2 buildings which are not connected (2 double bedrooms and 1 single in one building, and 2 double bedrooms in another one). Which worked well for us, but we hadn't realized it before we got there.
We enjoyed the view, the lake, cottage life in general and went up for a lovely hike at Charleston Park. Proximity to Seeleys Bay and its little supermarket + LCBO is very practical!
Owner was very friendly, responsive and flexible! I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family!

Lovely retreat with something for everyone
Lovely cottage on a quiet lake that has something for everyone. There is beach for sand castle builders with a place to swim. There are kayaks and a canoe to paddle around the calm lake, water toys for swimming and lots of opportunity for fishing. The kids even saw otters swimming by one day. Lots of deck space for relaxing in both sun and shade. We were two families of four and had lots of room for all of us. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for a wonderful week. We were also lucky enough to have perfect weather. We recommend checking out Wendy's Country Market for wonderful locally grown/raised food.

Relaxing Summer Getaway
Very well equipped, clean, comfortable beds, and includes everything you need other than yourselves, food, and some beverages. Great walk-in beach suitable for children and pets. We had a wonderful relaxing time... the view up the lake was amazing. All the firewood you need is included and we enjoyed a wonderful evening down by the beach in front of a nice fire enjoying the sunset. The dogs loved the beach and the water. As a bonus for us the weather was amazing. Don the owner was great... he showed us around upon our arrival and was very accessible during our stay answering questions and assisting with a couple of minor issues. We would highly recommend this property to others. We left feeling very relaxed and happy.
