My family and I enjoyed returning to Maine after 25 years. Acadia had been a favorite vacation spot for me, my children and brother and his family. So this was a special vacation as we returned with my grown children and their young boys. The house was spacious for our group. The children enjoyed the pool table, games, etc. They loved roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. The house could have been cleaner though. Also we were seven people and there were only 7 forks which meant we had to wash forks throughout the day to have them available. Overall, the house was in a great, quiet location with plenty of space for all of us to spread out. We particularly appreciated that it was so close to Bar Harbor and its shops and restaurants.

Property was great. Accommodations were everything they said they be. Just far enough away from town to be very peaceful but close enough for those town adventurers.

We enjoyed our stay - three generations under one roof. The house was spacious enough to hold us all comfortably. Equipped with modern, up-to-date appliances, things like meals and laundry were a breeze. I am a cyclist, so the proximity to the park loop road and carriage roads was a big plus for me. The pool table and foosball table were fun for both children and adults. All in all a great family experience.

The house is in a perfect location for Acadia NP and Bar Harbor, just a short drive to everything. A great cabin with everything we needed for a family getaway. House was clean, furniture and appliances in good condition. Wonderful hikes, great stargazing at night and lots of nice shopping and eating spots in nearby Bar Harbor.

The location of this cabin was perfect! So close to Bar Harbor but still felt very private. We went in town regularly to eat, rent bikes, shop and site see. Also, it's so close to all the great hikes and sites in Acadia. The Cabin is very roomy and was perfect for our family of five (all adults and one 10 year old). Loved the foosball, pool table and fire pit. There are plenty of towels and we did use the washing machine, which was nice. Kitchen was fully stocked with cookware and dishes. Grocery store is very close, however with so many great places to eat in Bar Harbor we didn't really use the kitchen much. We did see some turkeys on the driveway! It felt very private and the deck is amazing! Very cozy cabin with a nice "open" feel to it.
Our host, Ken, was also wonderful. He is very quick to respond if you have any questions or issues. He definitely took care of us and also gave great recommendations. Thanks Ken for a wonderful stay in your cabin. We hope to be back in the future!

I have stayed in many vacation rentals over the years and this is the harshest review I’ve ever left. We arrived about dark on Saturday evening. Check in instructions were clear and easy to find the house. We were a party of 8 adults (all 50+). First thing everyone commented on after settling into the rooms was the cleanliness. Maybe it’s because it’s the end of the season, but this house needs a thorough cleaning. The floors have dirt jammed into all the corners and the bathrooms have mildew in the joints in the bathroom. Windows are dirty and many have cobwebs that have been there for awhile. The basement had a dehumidifier that was non-operational when we arrived and smelled of mildew. We got it working and opened windows which helped. We were lucky the weather was warm and dry until Friday and we could keep it aired out for the people using the downstairs bedrooms. On the positive side, the location is great and we loved our time on the island. The owner quickly responded to messages. There was sufficient kitchenware for us to prepare meals for 8 people and the laundry facilities worked well.

Beautiful home. Great location. Had a wonderful time in spite of the rain. Easy access to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We had a lot of fun playing foosball and pool. Made some wonderful meals In the well stocked kitchen. Our week flew by. The reason for only four stars on the description is the mention of a hot tub. My daughters are avid hikers and bikers and were disappointed to learn the “hot tub” is actually a bath tub off the master bedroom with jets. All in all a lovely home that we would happily visit again.

We had a wonderful week with our whole family. The 5 bedrooms were perfect for our family of 8. Husband and I stayed in master on top floor. Two adult children stayed in 2 bedrooms on main level.. Daughter and her husband and two grands stayed in basement bedrooms. Kitchen was well equipped. Plenty of dishes including a lobster pot that we used. First time cooking lobster. Living area was a nice gathering area and place for kids to play. Two tables on deck allowed us all to dine together. Firepit was perfect for s'mores and stargazing as well as morning reading and coffee. Deer and wild turkeys most mornings at top of driveway. Location was near enough to coastline for daughter to run to and along coastal trail. We also rode our bikes to picnic area down the road, parked and rock scrambled on coast. Wish this was closer to home. We would be back.

This was a return trip to Mt. Desert Island for our family after a 17 year hiatus (With 2 dogs in tow). The house was spacious, with lots of bedrooms, bathrooms, play areas and great living room. Everything that we needed to prepare and preserve meals was there along with a great fridge with a huge ice maker. The lot the house is located on provided tons of privacy with a nice back deck for sharing meals and conversations. Especially appreciated was a covered elevated walk way/deck from the driveway to the rear deck where we stored bikes, coolers, bike racks, umbrellas, etc. The house’s proximity to Bar Harbor was appreciated for those that wanted to steal a few hours of alone time. Great spot on a beautiful island.

My family stayed in Ken’s place for a week. The location was great - walking distance to parts of acadia like thunder hike and the gorham mountain trailhead, while only a 10 minute drive to town. The kids enjoyed the pool table and foosball. And the adults lived star gazing around the fire pit. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and the gas grill was hard lined so we didn’t have to worry about a propane tank. We had some minor items when we first checked in and Ken responded within minutes of our contact. Overall a really pleasant place to stay if you’re looking to avoid the crowds in town and have a little more space to yourself.

The cabin is as described. Absolutely perfect for our Bar Harbor, ME family vacation. The property is beautiful inside and out and provided exactly what we were looking for and everything we needed for our time spent in Bar Harbor and Acadia Nat’l Park. The cabin far exceeded our expectations for convenience to both park access and proximity to town. The location was also perfect for us since it was nestled away in a quiet area with plenty of space around the cabin. It felt very private- just you and the very cool wild turkeys.
The cabin is very spacious and unique in having 5 bedrooms all with queen beds allowing for large groups/multiple families or couples. Plenty of games, pool, foosball and outdoor fire pit- our kids didn’t want to leave. We were a party of 8, four adults and 4 kids.
We had one question at the very beginning of the stay and both the owner and his management team were very responsive and helpful to the point of far exceeding our expectations. We would definitely love to stay again when visiting Bar Harbor.

This house was private and beautiful. It comfortably fit 6 of us and was close to everything. Acadia is amazing with many great hikes for all levels of experience and downtown Bar Harbor has a wealth of options for eating and drinking as well as fun shops to explore. I definitely recommend this house and the surrounding area.

You would love staying at Ken's place. It has all the amenities of home and with a location very close to Acadia National Park. You could even walk/hike to the park from Ken's place. We saw a moose on the second morning of our stay so you could even stay at the house and let nature come to you. It is also close to Bar Harbor for shopping and dining, once you get your fill of nature tripping.

Had a wonderful stay. House was as described except fireplace inside was not functional. Well stocked kitchen but could use more space for food supplies brought in. Perfect location near park and towns.. Loved the outside fire pit and used often. Enjoyed the game area as well.

This house was perfect! I had no idea when I booked it that it was so close to Acadia and what that meant. So glad we didn't stay in Bar Harbor since it was so busy in town. BR's we all queen beds so our adult children and partners were happy. I didn't find the baby gates until the baby left but we just watched her carefully on the stairs. Loved the deer and wild turkeys. So many great hikes for all levels in the park. Kitchen well stocked. Fire pit outside wonderful. Hope we can come again someday. Grocery and seafood market near by.

This house was perfect for our family of five adults. My mom was able to relax in the cabin while me, my sons, and my sister did a lot of hiking. The house is in a perfect location! It was very easy to get into downtown Bar Harbor and to all of Acadia trails. The house was well stocked and we each had our own bedroom. The boys stayed in the rooms downstairs and had a good time using the pool table. We couldn’t figure out how to lock the side French doors on the first night. Ken called us the next day to let us know that you have to hold the handle up and then turn the lock. Other than that, we had a perfect stay!

The rustic house sits on a lovely woodsy property with plenty of inside space and plenty of outdoor seating. We loved the location which gave us easy access to town and to Acadia. Some of the soft furnishings like area rugs and bedding could be updated. The kitchen was well supplied . We loved our stay.

The house was in a great location with easy check in and check out. The bedrooms and linens were clean. The property care taker was very responsive when the dryer stopped working and came over within 2 hours and had repair people out the next day. Some items in the house that are well used could be updated. It is a good house for a larger family. The pool table was a big hit for our kids.

The property is located minutes from Acadia National Park and less than 10 minute drive to the Village of Bar Harbor. The house was a perfect size for a family gathering of three generations. We enjoyed the cool evenings sitting around the firepit making s’mores

Beautiful and spacious cabin in woods
We were very happy with our stay in this Air B&B. We were a few miles from Bar Harbor to the North and one mile from the ocean to the South. The house is very pleasant and spacious. It is very open and airy. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware. We cooked dinners in the house every night and had some great sing-alongs in the evening by the fire in the fire pit.

Perfect Getaway in the Woods House
This house was just what we were looking for! Perfect location right in the middle of Acadia and it also provided what we needed to enjoy a night in - from the Kitchen supplies, to the deck with a grill, to the smart tv and board games, to the pool table in the basement. Would definitely book again!

Great location and fire pit
We really enjoyed our stay. A wonderful location, close enough to town and the trails we hiked, but far enough from any hustle and bustle to feel like you could enjoy the quiet wilderness.
