Escape to “Southern Wind,” a well-maintained Oceanside multi-story home and enjoy views from sunrise to sunset in beautiful Avon, NC.

On the ground level, you’ll find concrete parking under the carport, access to your private in-ground pool and patio area, a new hot tub, outdoor shower, and fish-cleaning station. Enjoy a picnic using either the charcoal or Weber gas grill. Within short walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, beaches, and the popular Avon Fishing Pier.

On your way upstairs, stop on the first level to play a round of foosball in the small, furnished game room. Continue up to the second level and you’ll find three spacious bedrooms. The master includes 1 queen, flat screen TV, and full private bath with tub/shower. Bedroom 2 includes 1 queen, flat screen TV, and close proximity to full hall bath. Bedroom 3 has a set of twin bunks plus 1 single bed. Conveniently located new full sized washer and dryer make laundry a breeze. This place was wonderful to stay at for a week long family vacation. We had plenty of room for 4 adults and 3 kids. The kitchen had everything you could ever need. Location was easy to find but it is on the main road. We would stay here again.

First off, since it was so early in the season we msged Matt asking that the pool be open, it was! It was just the 3 of us but we enjoy having the house all to ourselves. There are menus and points of interest on the frig if you want to do something other than enjoy the pool, hot tub or beach. We enjoyed everything the house had to offer and then some

Property was immaculate, spacious and bright. Short walk over a boardwalk to the beach. We enjoyed the deck with private pool and hot tub. Close to several good restaurants and a short walk to Avon Pier.Host was always available.

This house while adequate for a week stay, has a lot of issues that should be addressed. Ants, unfastened dish washer, inopperative ice maker, pool leaks, broken deck boards with rusty nails sticking up. This is a partial list. I can provide a complete list if interested.

Very nice place. Very clean. Loved having the pool and hot tub. Just a short walk around the corner to the ocean. Short walks to gift shops. We had a great time!

It was very nice being so close to the ocean side and sound side. Everything was in walking distance. A little hiccups through the week but Matt the owner was very quick to answer and help out right away. Overall we enjoy our stay, it went way too fast! We love the Outer Banks, first time being that far south. We’re usually more up north, I think we enjoyed it more being down in Avon. Definitely will be back!

Super easy reservation and check-in process. My family and I had a great time using the pool, hot tub and grill. The rooms were cozy and provided extra linens and towels for the stay. The house was very clean and welcoming! We loved the surrounding area. It was very quiet and close to many beach locations and sites to see. Hope to stay again!

Our first time in OBX and the house was perfect for us. Super location, literally on Rt 12. Beach is quick walking distance around the corner. You can walk to coffee spots, bakeries and shops. Major grocery store etc only a few mins away by car. House was lovely! The teens enjoyed hot tub, pool, darts and foosball table. Great space for cooking (fully equipped kitchen) and gathering. Adorably decorated. Owners are fantastic and responded within minutes to questions. Highly recommend!! Thank you, Matt!!!

Overall, our stay was great and it was a perfect little getaway for our family! Everything was very clean upon arrival and there was even a pack n' play provided if we needed (even though we brought our own). Just a few things to note that I didn't read in other people's reviews that I may have liked to know (we visited in the off season, so please keep that in mind): - We had to make all beds upon arrival - The pool was not open, but it was still filled so we had to be a little extra cautious with our little ones - You are on the main road and have to walk for a tiny bit on the main road to get to the side road that leads to the beach walkway (it is not a far walk though and it is a beautiful beach!) - Owner was very responsive with our 1 small issue, but their management that would have taken care of the issue was off the island. - Many restaurants are seasonal so many were not open while we were down there. However, the Food Lion grocery store is just down the road - You are very close to the Pier which has a cool playground for the littles! Pier was not open but playground was. Again, only listing these things since these may be "off season things to know." However, none of this would stop us from booking again! We had a great time!

We stayed during the off season; three homes in the neighborhood were being repaired/built. There was construction noise, but that isn’t something that could be controlled or changed. We didn’t let it affect our stay. The walk to the beach was short and not bad at all. We loved the set-up of the home and enjoyed our stay. We would consider renting this home again in the future! We loved the Avon area for our stay.

We enjoyed our stay, everything worked as it should and the home was clean. Easy check-out instructions, short 5 minute walk to the beautiful ocean and many stores close by for any needs. Missing Avon and I just left!

While we enjoyed our stay, because the area was convenient and the house over all was very clean, it definitely needs updating. The beds are small and not very comfortable, . The couch was peeling and the pool is stained and worn. The owner, Matt was quick to respond to questions, though, so if you are looking for something clean and passable, this house is not bad.

Overall the stay was very comfortable. A little disappointed when we had to make up our own beds upon arrival. Then upon departure having to deliver your linens to the laundry room and start the towels in the washing machine. That is why we went on vacation. To get away from chores.

The house was just as listed. Perfect spot near shops and lots of places to eat. Could sit on the porch and listen to the waves crash on the beach. Nice pool and hot tub. Host was great! Will look for this one for our next trip.

We first came down in 2019, and really enjoyed ourselves, and we finally managed to come back. It was the same great experience, with the beach just around the corner, a pool and hot tub right at your fingertips, and more great local spots worth checking out. I would recommend it and will be back for our 3x time sooner than later…

The house is a very nice place to stay with your family and friends. The kitchen is fully stocked, it has anything you can imagine. We loved the dining area with adjacent family room (very cozy). The bedrooms are great! While everything was very clean and functional, the bathrooms on the bedroom level could use a little update. Due to the warm weather, we never got to use a hot tub, but a swimming pool was a real treat: great size, privately positioned, well maintained. And finally and most importantly, the responsiveness of the property owner was outstanding, very quick and right to the point! Matt provided a great level of communication before and during our stay. He was also a great source of information about the surrounding area businesses and his advice was greatly appreciated!

Southern Wind in Avon, NC was a great choice for a stay with friends. The owner, Matt, was always quick to respond to any question I had & was very helpful. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you would want/need, the location is great; a short walk to the beach and a short drive to grocery stores & restaurants. The pool and hot tub are great ammenities and it was good to have laundry facilities. Check in was simple, as was check out. Having TV's in the bedrooms as well as the living room was a good idea, but it would also be nice to perhaps include a notebook of instructions for TV's & appliances. This property was very clean & the beds comfortable. Although we only used the two double bedrooms, the third was nicely furnished with a twin as well as bunk beds; this house would be good choice for families, too.
