We really enjoyed the stay and everything was comfortable. Any minor inconvenience that happened upon us was quickly overshadowed by the amazing location and view from the back porch. All in all we would stay here again and enjoy it all the same!

The house is nice though some features are a bit dated. The views are great. You get a good view to the west as there is no only another house on that side. Great sunset view from the dining room. The windows and doors have low windows which the pups loved to look out. Cleaning crew had done a great job. There were minor maintenance issues which we told management about on checkout.

The location and beach was great. Both baths were great. However, the condition of the front and back decks was not safe. In fact, one of our party chair leg went through the back deck and through him out of the chair and on to the deck. The sofa bed had baseball size knots in the mattress. The kitchen had only one fry pan. Nothing to boil shrimp in. The floor had soft places in it. The staff I interacted with was very nice and came to the house the day of our complaint. They did repair the hole in the deck. But there should be work done before it is rented again.

This home was as described. Clean and in a good location. We had a nice stay. As some others have mentioned, the house definitely shakes. We are not large people, and it was a noticeable and significant shake/sway when one of us walked through the home which was a bit unnerving.

Was reasonable priced compared to other properties near by. It was very quiet day and night and the back deck was great for watching boats and stargazing at night. There were a few issues we didn’t bother contacting management with but overall we loved it and our stay and plan to return.

This is a nice house in a GREAT location. We had plenty of amenities for our 7 day stay. We enjoyed the private beach and lots of walks with our dog. We had good food at Captain Snappers, Island Restaurant and the carriage. We will book here again.

Have stayed in this house several years but won’t again. Every year more things are a bit worse. Sewer smell in master bathroom for second year. Dishwasher didn’t work. Reported both items and no one came all week. Bedding needs replacing and stove doesn’t work well. Now you have to check at 3, strip beds and start laundry for them and take out all trash. I don’t mind trash but not my job on vacation to wash sheets for next guest at the price you pay to stay there.

Sunset views, WOW!

Views of the bridge are great and the sunsets are stunning. We stayed here for two weeks last year and liked it so much that we booked it for four weeks this year and have already reserved it for four weeks next year. Lots of fresh, local, oysters at local restaurants and Skinners fish market is a great place to get locally caught fish to prepare at home. Location is great and you have views of both the bay and the Gulf.

Property was clean and in a good location on the bay side, close walk to the beach side. Check-in and out was seamless.
The house was everything we needed it to be to enjoy our stay, but could use a few upgrades.
* Heat stopped working during out trip. Went outside and found that a breaker had tripped in exterior electric panel. was able to reset without needing to contact management. Entire panel cover had clearly blown off some time ago and was weathered; new panel, breakers, and some exterior wiring likely needs replacing. I did text this concern to management upon checkout and it sounded like they were going to check it out.
*House shakes a bit when people use exterior stairs. Could benefit from some cross bracing like most other houses on the island.

We truly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cozy home at the end of the street. It has incredible views and a private beach area. Will definitely come again!

I have rented this house a couple times and have always enjoyed the location. This time around, there where some things that are making me rethink renting it again in the future.

We loved the bay view and experience but this rental is not traveler focused. Floors and bathrooms were surface clean but the overall home was grimey. Dirty furniture, floor trim, cabinets, doors and light fixtures made for a less than pleasant environment. There were exposed nails on deck and stairs, a dangerously malfunctioning grill, thin pillows, dirty blankets. It's obvious this is a for profit rental with little thought for comfort. Customer service was responsive but completely dismissive. If you search this company, you will find an overall 1.5 out of 5 star rating (over 500 reviews). We will return to Daughin Island but will seek another rental home/company.

Love the privacy this home offers. The beach access is amazing, sunsets from the deck are picture perfect, and being able to bring our two dogs…priceless.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay on our first trip to Dauphin Island. We loved our rental house on the West End. Our back porch was on the bay side and we had great sunset views and of the dolphins swimming from our back porch. From the small front porch we could see the Gulf side between the houses and could hear the waves. This house was in a great location and we would stay here again!

Nice little house in a great location. Being on the Mississippi Sound was peaceful, like a cottage on a lake. Although the house needed some updates, it was fine for us. But it would of been nice to have a vacuum cleaner and a better grill. We bought a vacuum while we were there, and just used the grill as it was.

The house was clean with a great floor plan. The location and views were awesome. The provided parking pass gives access to various parking lots on the Gulf side. Bought and cooked lots of fresh seafood from Skinners down the road. Liked it so much, we have already booked another two weeks for next year. A great place for a relaxing vacation!

This property was so cute and clean and in the perfect location at the end of the cove so the only neighbor was on one side!! Great when you have dogs and kids that love room to play. The house was very well equipped. We had all we needed. The pillows could have been better and blankets could have been in better shape but we brought our own as usual. Even at that, they were clean!! The management Texted us upon arrival to check on us and make sure everything was ok and also when the temperatures dropped below freezing to ask us to please drip water in all facets and outside water hoses. We didn’t have any issues with frozen pipes. Although the weather decided to be the coldest Christmas on record in the area we still enjoyed our stay!! The master bedroom shower is amazing!!!! My only worry was how much the house swayed in the wind (we did have some high winds during our stay) and a few “soft spots” in the living room floor. With kids and dog’s running around I felt like the house moved too much, but not enough for me to call and make any kind of complaint. We loved this little house so much that we have booked it again for next Thanksgiving. I would recommend it for any small family looking for a quite getaway! The bay is your backyard and the gulf a very short walk across the street and the back deck is perfect!!!

Love this little home at the end of the cul-da-sac. Great for furry friends and kids to safely walk on the bayside or out front.

This was an amazing beach house on the bay side with close access to beach. I’m pregnant and went alone with my 2 dogs. The short walk from the back deck to the bay was perfect for me and the dogs. Home was clean and in great condition. Did have trouble with the internet, but called and got it handled right away. Would come back here again!

Quite an enjoyable stay. The house was tidy & comfortable. Great location for relaxing & enjoying the beaches without the crowds.

I worried after booking about being on the bay side however it actually was the best of both worlds. We LOVED our deck facing the beautiful water, loved our private beach steps away from deck . We still could see other side with ocean other out back doors and back deck. Honestly this was our favorite stay of ALL our travels. The peace that came with spending a week with the surrounding beautiful waters was pure heaven. Home two weeks and we think of the beach house every day. It was amazing and we most definitely recommend to anyone!
Hope to one day return…

Vacation
We went the April 3-6th. We loved that the island was quiet with very few other guests. We didn’t get to see a lot of the migratory birds due to high winds and it being a bit early, but we enjoyed our visit. I’ve booked this house again for next April.

Great family vacation
We loved that we could walk out the door and go fishing, which is a big plus with children! We were also able to watch dolphins swimming as we sat on the beach. So relaxing!

Views for days
This little house on the end of the street was the perfect little getaway spot for us. It was just the 2 of us and the house offered plenty of room and the amenities were perfect. We packed an ice chest with food and just basically hung out on the back deck listening to the ocean. We got out and went for walks every morning. Dauphin Island is a quaint little community and a great place to chill and relax if that is what you're looking for.
The house is clean, cute, and perfect for that Island trip you've been thinking about taking.

Nice Beach house
Great getaway at a adorable little beach property. Nice decorated home, with everything you need for the beach. Only negative, for our old chihuahua, the DVD player was missing, lol. Our dog could not watch her fav dad's. We did find pet collection on roku, so she got along with it.
Great home for a smaller family! The home was very clean, and had everything you need. A nice little beach as well.
We will visit again soon!!

Wonderful!
My family absolutely enjoyed the trip. The property is more updated than the pictures show. There is no charcoal grill as some images show but there was a gas grill we did not expect to have. What a lovely view to wake up to every morning. Roughest part was the weather and the waves and not knowing how to handle vehicle movement on the night before check out. We got it figured out but it was still a bit worrisome. Overall, a fantastic first trip to Dauphin Island!!

Nice quiet spot on the ocean
Great property! Beautiful location. Loved the deck, views from inside and the beach. House sways a little in the wind, but it was very windy. Master bed was a little hard and older. Big shower and double sinks were a plus.

Plan plan plan
Being from northern Michigan this was such a different environment. I loved our location it is perfect if you are traveling with dogs or kids. Not having a house so close on one side was a bonus. Even though you are on the bayside you can still the waves at night. Walking both shores is fantastic. On to the planning part. Having traveled using VRBO in past I brought some basic items with me I could have done better. Although they provide 3 days worth of soap products the kitchen is poorly equipped so bring your own everything. It is bare bones for sure, the knives struggled with butter. Most of the restaurants are carry out and very average. The nearest grocery store is about 35 minutes. The ship store on island has a few basics but are super expensive as you would expect. Skinner’s Seafood has fantastic shrimp and other selections that they will steam for you however I found them very unfriendly. Again plan ahead and it will be a great experience I look forward to coming back.

We absolutely LOVED Sunset Beach House! Perfect size for us. Perfect location. Perfect views of water, ships, birds, and the bridge. Perfect for our first snowbird adventure!
