Very fun time staying here with my entire family (my two kids, husband, sister and parents) and everyone had space! Kitchen and living room were smaller but had everything we needed and more! We played games and ate meals all together in the dining room but best of all is the deck. The outdoor space at this house is amazing! My 2 year old got to say hello to the turtles, ducks and fish endless times through the day while my family and I enjoyed beverages on the comfortable patio furniture!

Me and my friends stayed here for an early June bachelorette trip and absolutely loved it!
The house was clean, comfortable and well-stocked and you can't beat the neighborhood and pond views and proximity to Salem.
The hosts were incredibly helpful on communicating the check in process and had info around the house for anything we could need.
5/5 recommend staying here!

The goal of this stay was to relax and clear our minds. This cozy little place was serene and tucked away in a place where we could do our morning walks to the beach or down town to grab a quick bite. I would stay here again just because the hosts were so accommodating and the location was very convenient. Thank you!

Enjoyed this pond side home as the perfect weekend getaway with friends and family! Henry was responsive and helpful in every way. Felt right at home! Thanks Henry!

The Pond House was unique and homey. Situated on the edge of a pond with a big deck it provided a singular experience. It was early November so we didn't spend long times on the deck, even so the pond is a presence, and can be enjoyed from inside as well. Lots of windows. It's situated in a lovely community, with the ocean only a short walk away. The house itself is 'Harry Potterish' (in a good way) luckily none of us had to sleep under the stairs, (however there is a closet there) nor, did any of the rooms change places. ;) 7 of us stayed comfortably. The appliances are in good shape, with a high end fridge and dishwasher a good BBQ and washer and dryer. We kept the little woodstove going and Henry was quick to respond when we needed kindling. It has baseboard heaters most of which worked most of the time. There were plenty of linens and towels. Henry was an unobtrusive (he lives next door) but responsive host. Pond House is due for a painting and some repairs to things like towel racks and toilet paper holders, perhaps a new set of curtains on the patio doors. However, those things in no way negatively impacted our stay, in fact it levelled out any stress one might experience staying at a pristine, highly decorated place. Pond House is comfy and homey and welcoming, like staying at a beloved family cottage, where many happy times take place. The surrounding area is full of history, interesting architecture and scenery. I would not hesitate to return in fact I hope to.

The stay was fun and close to drive to Salem. The house was way over priced.

Stayed here for our first of hopefully many moms trips. Great location just outside of salem. Beautiful neighborhood just be cautious of how close you are to everyone and read the instructions when you get there and settled in. Overall House was clean just smaller and it looked and in need of a little bit of maintenance repairs. Nothing that really affected our stay. Great host!

Stayed here with my family for my 30th birthday. Love that we were able to see both Salem and Marblehead. Henry was also a great host! Looking forward to coming back!

Very nice property on a pond with ducks. Close to the ocean. Each of us four had our own room. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking and serving.

We had a wonderful girls weekend at the Pond House - the perfect location for trips to Boston and Salem. The home itself was clean and cozy and nestled in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. Henry was a great host - he was responsive to anything we needed and we appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine!

My close friends and I had the perfect weekend together here! There is no central AC. Which is common for the area. The weather was hotter than the yearly average projected for early SEP, but once we opened up the windows and turned on the fans, the house cooled down immediately. We had breakfast every morning on the patio deck and it was beautifully peaceful. A couple of us went on a scenic 3 mile run to the beach which was safe! If you're planning a Salem visit I highly recommend staying in the Marblehead area! The entire area feels like your in a movie! We had the best time.

As everyone has noted, the neighborhood is charming, and location ideal. I grew up in M'head and go every July 4, and have stayed in a handful of rentals (including this one 11 years ago). Note, the pricing on rentals have gone up immensely, and this is the most I have ever paid for a weeks stay, I feel like expectations go up with the price.
Check in was smooth, Henry was helpful when I needed closet hangers the first day, and stern (as he should have been) yet understanding when my 21 year old son and his friend took the boat out on the pond at 11:30 at night on July 4, without my knowledge.
I knew the house lacked AC. And while you know that going into it, it does not change the discomfort you feel if the weather does not cooperate. Unfortunately, the weather was rainy and humid the first few days, so the house and everything in it was constantly damp and sticky. I was grateful for the washer/dryer and Tide provided because I had to do laundry every day for fear that our clothes would get moldy. An investment in a few of those floor air conditioners would benefit the inside of the house immensely (control rust, mold, etc) as it is vulnerable to moisture from the pond, ocean air, and the humid climate (especially this year). Air conditioners would also guarantee the renters a better experience, instead of leaving that to chance. Overall, the house is cute, the setting idyllic, the house itself could really use updates to ensure renters comfort.

3 generations were able to function and enjoy the space together! Very peaceful on the deck visiting and watching the wildlife. The walk to the cliff beach was a favorite daily activity. Neighbors were all very friendly. Henry is a very thoughtful host, providing many amenities and a gift at check in. The house was clean and comfortably furnished. The deck did have some mossy spots, need to watch your step when it is wet. I would imagine the humidity of the environment wreaks havoc on everything, so would be tricky to keep up with. We greatly enjoyed our stay, so much to do in the area, and the Pond House was a relaxing place to call home for the week!

Our group absolutely loved staying at The Pond House! Conveniently located close to downtown Marblehead and Salem, it allowed us awesome flexibility for what we wanted to do! The house was cute and cozy, with all the amenities we needed for a great weekend. No AC was not an issue for us, as the temperatures cooled down at night. The host was super accommodating and communicative - Definitely recommend!

Expectations were met; a lovely home we would recommend and/or stay again.

No fault of the owners at all that the road is a little tight that would be the only barely negative thing I could say because everything else about this stay was so great, the owners are phenomenal, they are accommodating and warm the house is perfect for escaping! Thank you for having us!

We loved staying at the pond house. Henry was very friendly and accommodating. We were in town for a wedding and the deck over the pond was a great spot to spend time with family.
Thank you Henry!

A group of four friends spent a four day weekend at the Marblehead property for a trip to Salem.
The location is serene and peaceful on the pond - very quiet, other than the bull frogs at night! The location was also very convenient to Salem; roughly a ten minute drive. We also enjoy the short walk to the ocean and short drive to the beach. The location couldn't have been more perfect.
The house itself is unique and was very clean. A couple of points to note on the listing. Parking is a short walk with stairs to the house; we had a person with cerebral palsy with us and it was difficult for her to get from the car to the house. The location is not handicapped accessible and would be highly difficult with a walker and impossible with a wheelchair. The pictures of the house seem to be older because the house is "worn." Surfaces, paint, flooring, etc. are tired with significant wear and tear.
Communication with the owners was easy and thorough.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Marblehead Pond House.

We took our four children and their significant others for a total of eight of us to the pond house. There was plenty of room and the pond and deck were absolutely stunning even in February. We hope to come back again in the warmer months to see the gorgeous trees all filled in. Henry was an awesome host. Very accommodating and understanding when we had some car issues. He really went above and beyond. Thanks Henry!

We enjoyed our stay. We were close to everything.

I came with my mom, aunt, “mother in law”, and coworker/friend and we all loved it! The house is in a tight knit community up off the main road. It’s close enough to Salem to be there in a matter of minutes but far enough away to be out of the hustle and bustle of busy Salem. The view of the pond and back porch was amazing! So peaceful! There was an issue of not enough wash clothes but when I messaged the property manager about it he responded right away. The house was very spacious and perfect for our girls get away. If you’re looking for the perfect place to stay for a spooktacular visit to Salem, book it!

This pond house was in the perfect location. It was the a wonderful mini-vacation for our spooky season. The owner was close by if we needed anything, they even provided fire wood. Drinking a cup of coffee overlooking the beautiful pond was timeless. Only thing I wish was a little different was there was a lot of paint chipping, the paint above the master bedroom looked like it was dripping onto the bed and there were multiple areas in the living area as well. The biggest advice id give is the couch position. The amount of times me or my family smashed our head off the shelf behind the couch was uncountable. Would recommend cutting the shelf smaller or pulling the couch out. These things did not take away from the wonderful time we spent there but would have just made it a better experience.

This property is a gem! Perfectly serene home minutes from the hustle and bustle of Salem! We stayed to experience Halloween in the Witch City and loved it! My only request would be for a complete set of measuring spoons and measuring cups! The owner is VERY responsive to questions. We would absolutely stay again!

This house was in such a wonderful location, and perfect for our girls trip to Salem. It’s in a lovely quiet neighborhood overlooking a beautiful pond, and I highly recommend spending time on the deck and visiting the local beach.

We enjoyed our stay on the pond. The house was very well stocked including coffee and a bottle of wine. Great proximity to walk along the ocean cliffs and 10 minutes to Salem. Highly recommend staying here.

The location of the Pond House was great, a few minutes walk to the ocean. Rocky area, not a beach, but really lovely place to start and end the day. Very nice, upscale and quiet neighborhood.
The house itself has a huge deck overlooking a pond teaming with life (lots of ducks, very friendly turtles, bull frogs and even a fox sighting one early morning). The pond is definitely the highlight of the house.
The house does not have A/C. I'm guessing most of the time this is not an issue, unfortunately the first half of our trip occurred during an unusual heat wave. Was pretty uncomfortable for 3 days especially on 2nd and 3rd floors. The house itself has a nice updated kitchen and a nice gathering area. The master bedroom could use a fresh paint job and a ceiling repair, there was a strange white powdery substance falling from it. But otherwise, house was great.
Henry was amazing. Answered all my questions promptly and always helpful and kind.

Amazing vacation
Beautiful, central location. Close to everything we wanted to do on our vacation. The peaceful back deck with the ducks, adorable turtles, and sound of the frogs was amazing. The Rocky beach was so beautiful at sunset. Communication with owner was great. My mug and wine was such a nice touch. Would definitely stay there again!

Outstanding getaway!
3 generations of my family stayed at the Pond House while in town for my daughter's graduation from Boston University. We chose a spot outside of Boston so we could make the celebrations even more special, which they were. Henry is an amazing host, super responsive, answered random questions about the area, and thinks of every detail.
The house slept the 7 of us very comfortably, and we even hosted a pre-commencement dinner with extended family and friends. It was simply perfect. Thank you again, Henry!

The home had everything we needed and then some. Loved sitting on the deck overlooking the pond - such a great, peaceful spot. Took full advantage of the fireplace - so cozy. Henry was a great host - he was very accommodating and provides great, clear, helpful instructions for everything you might need. We would definitely stay here again!

The home was renovated and well appointed. But NO A/C was a concern one evening. The master bedroom seemed to have something painted over on the bedroom ceiling. I cant say if it was mold or another growth but I wasn't happy to see that . The location was spectacular cute koi pond with turtles and ducks. Bunnies were a pleasant surprise. A short walk to the ocean was fantastic. There is a right of way where you can go down the steps to hangout on the rocks on the ocean.. That was beautiful.
Enjoyed our stay. Not sure the higher price for this home and value match up but no regrets and would recommend for large family or 3-4 couples would make sense. For our smaller group of 5.. a bit pricey.

This property was great for our weekend in Marblehead. The owner was extremely helpful and quick to respond to any questions. The property is great. It's location makes it easy to explore the great parks and beaches of the area. You are close to grocery stores and restaurants so food is not a problem. We have to worry about vegan and gluten free diets in our family and had no problem finding good food. We would absolutley consider staying here again if we come back to the area.
