I brought my two daughters (ages 7 and 10) for a weekend trip over spring break. My 10yr old is not an outdoorsy kinda girl, so I wasn’t sure how she would like it. She didn’t want to go exploring with my younger daughter and I - but luckily we were able to have some adventures right outside our door! We walked around quite a bit of the property, explored the creek, said “hi” to the goats - and we were always within sight of our rental (Whitetail). The highlight of our trip was probably the owners black lab, Paris! She visited us many times and even stayed the night one night. For my non-outdoorsy daughter, she was able to connect to wifi to play her games, watched movies, and had a blast playing with her Barbies inside the cabin. She appreciated the experience in a different way.
My younger daughter and I will absolutely be back and will probably stay at a different cabin next time.
The outdoor shower was a cool experience! The water was definitely warm enough - but plan for a quick shower as it didn’t last more than a few minutes before starting to get cold.
Keep in mind that you’re staying in the woods and might see the occasional ant, fly, etc. inside the cabin. This didn’t bother us, but we made sure to clean up crumbs and not leave food out, etc.
Overall, I have zero complaints about our stay!!

The property is beautiful and felt remote enough for what we were looking for. Wi-Fi and cell service worked but not good enough to get sucked into social media. Unplugging without fear is totally possible. We’d book again!

Each time we come here, we always have a fabulous time. It is always one of the memories that we cherish most, and we are excited to be able to continue to come and stay at these cabins and tree houses. Bob is an excellent host and has so much character not only in the treehouses and cabins themselves that you stay in, but also the property. If you were looking at a space to unplug, recharge and just get away from the world, this is your place! Highly recommend!

We found the property relaxing and inviting. The cabin we rented was Whitetail and it was more than what we expected it was cozy and we felt at home away from home. The dogs were a lovely welcome and the goats were good sports too. Absolutely want to go back in the fall and see the color change.

Loved it here! Great if you are looking for a unique place to stay off of the beaten path. Plus, the Mississippi is very close, and neat to check out.

Lovely little getaway in an idyllic wooded environment
The treehouse was a perfect little place to get away for a few days and spend some time in nature. Paris, the black lab, was an absolute angel and would come by to check in with us regularly. She's a very good girl.

The Great Outdoors
It was great spending time in Bob's 10 Acre Treehouses. The experience was one that we have not had before. One of the main selling points for us was that it must be pet friendly. When you have many fur babies, choices can be very scarce. So one may be stuck with the difficult decision of boarding your animals or taking them with and being limited. Choosing 10 Acres was an easy because we wanted to make memories with our animals and it was clear that the owner has similar sentiments. At the start we were warmly greeted by Bob and his dog, Paris, and his 4 goats. It was sweet how Paris roams freely and often checks in on the the guests. One thing that we thoroughly enjoyed about this property was that it provided some solitude all the while still being within close proximity of the surrounding towns. Each treehouse/cabin within this property has its own unique charm. We had a stay at the White Tail tree house, but we will definitely be planning a return as we want to experience the Captains Quarters and the Ashburn. We may live 4 hours away, but this gem is well worth the drive.

Wonderful rustic wooded cabin
We stayed here on a very cold weekend in January. The cabin itself is quirky and quaint, apparently hand constructed with some skill. There are many delightful touches throughout the cabin and surrounding area. It is primitive, but all of the basics are here, and we ate surprisingly well with just a microwave and a grill. The host was very friendly and responsive. We brought two dogs, and they had a ball running the property, charging across wooden bridges, and meeting the goats. I imagine we will be back.

So cozy and relaxing
Really enjoyed staying at the White tail cabin on Bob’s property. Was nestled nicely in the trees with a great view off the balcony for reading and relaxing. Spent a lot of time with Paris (the lovely lab) at the cabin-also she wandered the trails with us which was a plus for us dog lovers. Overall, we felt really relaxed and refreshed after spending two nights at Ten acres. Thank you Bob! We think we will be back!

Beautiful retreat
We had such a wonderful time during our stay! Just a suggestion to potential renters, if you are over 6ft tall it might be difficult to get up and down the loft due to the steep pitch of the roof near the ladder.

This is an awesome setting.
We really enjoyed our stay, and wished we had booked two nights instead of one. The wooded setting is perfect, with all the rustic touches of the cabin and treehouses. The owner is really nice, too. We enjoyed his dog stopping by on occasion to visit. We would definitely go back.

Weekend retreat
Spending the weekend at Ten Acres Treehouses was just the relaxing time we needed. Listening to the barred owls as we fell asleep was wonderful, as was drinking coffee on the deck each morning. We would definitely recommend this treehouse to anyone looking for an escape.

Awesome experience!
My family and I enjoyed our stay here very much. We wanted one last vacation before the school year started. This was a location that took us a little off the grid, in a good way, and unplugged us from the busyness of every day life. The sounds of the rain, frogs, and birds was beautiful. Even though we had not had any experiences with outside showers or composting toilets, haha, we enjoyed it & take with us new knowledge! Bob was great, took good care of us. I can’t wait to see how this beautiful area continues to grow over the years. It is a gorgeous venue that has limitless possibilities.

Things needed to improve our stay
Smooth out pathway to get to the treehouse. The ruts were so bad the wagon you provided, tipped over on the way up. Cut up some wood for the fire pits. Smooth out the area around the fire pit. Put a table outside so we could put food or drinks on if we were roasting hotdogs or marshmallows over the fire.
