The house was great - on a quiet beautiful street with many flowers. The room was spacious and comfortable. The dinner was delicious. Patrick was wonderful; he took such care during my stay. Provided excellent recommendations and helped me navigate local transportation and provided an excellent taxi driver that I used to go back to Nairobi and around Naivasha. He provided regular check-ins, which were very nice as a solo traveler. It felt like I had a friend I could rely on for all my questions. Highly recommend when staying in Naivasha town.

Absolutely wonderful stay! My husband and I were treated like a king and queen! The owner, Patrick, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Chef Young cooked amazing meals, catered to us individually. We were treated like family, not just guests. The grounds are lovely. Had beautiful breakfasts outside. Truly a special stay! Thank you so much Patrick for making us feel so welcome. 😀

Patrick the owner looked after us very well. We had very comfortable rooms and the breakfast was delicious. He gave us good advice on what to see and where to eat. We enjoyed a boat trip on the lake and fabulous cycling in Hells Gate national park.
We liked everything

The arrival was really welcoming. The owner does hosting with pure passion. He even brought us in the morning to local bus station. When there was any question he helped us immediately. He introduced the local culture and food and gave amazing Tipps for activities. The food here was aswell incredible. The 24 years old cook is a real master chef. We just can warmly recommend to stay in this wonderful place.
PS: the house has a beautiful garden, two cute dogs and a cat and the rooms are clean and looking nice and the staff is really friendly

Great place to stay, we booked 2 nights, finally spent 3 nights here. We booked 2 small double rooms but were offered one big one with 2 beds and this room was very good, spacious, bright but not hot, with a big balcony, facing the garden. Beds fantastic, spacious bathroom with hot water.
Food delicious, thanks to the Chef Young, Robert, we had breakfast and dinner, tried vegetarian options and fish, everything great.
It's about 2 km from the center of Naivasha, but it was even easy to walk. For the trips around we used matatu, public mini vans, which is great if you want to taste the local life. With shortcut it was just a quick downhill walk to the main road to catch it, 50 ksh pp to Naivasha Sanctuary farm, 100 to the junction leading to Hell's Gate, 120 to Elsamere.
Big thanks to Patrick, the owner, who helps with enything you need, he also organized a taxi for us to Nairobi for a good price, for an early departure for a safari tour.
Thank you very much!

Patrick's hospitality was quite exceptional: I'm not sure we have encountered anything quite like it before. He made sure to talk to us every day, but just as much as a friend as a host. Indeed, he would like to think of his guests as personal guests rather than professional clients. We were also impressed with the big bedroom we were given and the really lovely garden with hammocks. Patrick's wife, staff (including the national TV star Chef Young) and two dogs were also lovely.
The internet was almost never quite 100% but this seems to be an issue Patrick is aware of and working on. Most of the time, it did work however; it was just on the slow side. Also, as we booked a five-night stay full-board, the meals started to get a little repetitive, even though Chef Young clearly takes his job very seriously and you are encouraged to be as open about your requirements as you would like.

The Merinja Guest House is an amazing place to relaxe due to the location. Very quiet place with beautiful garden with 2 sweet dogs here you can sit. De rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable! Because it was so quiet en good beds we good sleep to good. The chef kok from Merinja Guest House does his ver best to deliver the best meals! We really enjoyed the tasteful food. They have no problem with making vegan, gluten free food. They gave always a complete meal. Patrick and all the staff provided excellent service with a smile. Patrick's communication through WhatsApp is also a relief! We easily found the location end he helped us with everything. We stayed here 3 night's and would love to stay longer because of the great accomodation and location. It's really close to Naivacha lake, Hell's Gate and Nakuru NP. Thanks for the wonderful stay, Mathias & Nanet

We had a wonderful stay in the guesthouse of Patrick. The room was tiny, but clean and comfortable. The bed was really comfortable, we slept very well. The dinner was amazing and we could order anything we would like. Patrick even organized a bottle of wine for us as well as a hair dryer. There was also a shared living room and kitchen where we could use the fridge and got to know other guests for a nice chat. We can only recommend that place.
The shower was in the middle of the bathroom, but without any curtain or cabin.
