About this cabin rental
Rustic living with modern amenities - your home away from home!
Welcome to Elk Haven Retreat of Estes Park, your little piece of paradise! Feel like you have just entered a Disney movie as you sit back on the deck and watch wildlife walk right on by. Take in the amazing views of Rocky Mountain National Park as you smell the scent of wildflowers, pine trees, and lilac floating in the breeze. When you decide you are ready to venture into the wilderness or do a little shopping, dining, or playing, we are a mere 2 miles from the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park and 1.5 miles from downtown Estes Park. Head down the road to the Big Thompson River for world class fly fishing or hike Mary’s Lake.
You will feel like you have arrived at your own home in the mountains. Provided are luxury mattresses and linens. An instant hot water system is provided. Never have to suffer through another cold shower while enjoying the large and spacious shower. There is a washer and dryer on site so that your precious vacation time isn’t spent at the laundromat. We have wireless internet with a strong router signal so that you can stream video on our 56" smart TV. We want you to spend your time enjoying your vacation and not running all over the place trying to find the "little luxuries" to make your time pleasurable. Therefor provided are basic spices, condiments, sugar, flour, paper towels, and cookware. So, all that you have to bring is the main ingredients.
Every room has a view! The cabin is nestled at the bases of Giant Track and Prospect Mountains, near the Beaver Meadows entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. You can choose to unwind on the comfortable living room furniture, or go outside and enjoy the fire pit and patio furniture located on your private deck. Or for total relaxation, sit in the 5-person Hot Tub and view the galaxy of stars above.
Cleanliness and safety are high priorities for us! We are also a vacationing family ourselves and know what we like to have in the properties we rent. This is a ground-level property, so it is easily accessible to people who find stairs or hills difficult. Sorry, but this is a strict no smoking, no pet property - we wish to respect our guests with allergy sensitivities.

Everything was perfect. The location was close to bear lake corridor, close to Estes park & 5 min from a grocery store. Clean, comfortable well stocked cabin. Loved the hot tub as well. We hope to stay there again!

The house was just right for our family of five to explore RMNP and Estes Park. Very much as described, hot tub was great post hikes, and plenty of space for five of us. Would stay here again should we return.

My wife, her mother, and her two sisters stayed in your cabin and they said that it was wonderful! Exactly what they needed!

Its very nice, and was quiet. You kinda feel like youre in someone's backyard, but Im used to having my space also. Its a good place to stay and conveniently located.

We took a little “thanksgiving/christmas/birthday” getaway to celebrate. The home was cozy and had the perfect space for our group of 4 adults and 4 kids under 8. The bunk room was fun for the kids to all stay together (we had to stuff extra pillows and such for some extra safety). The hot tub was an amazing accommodation for us adults!!!

We had a wonderful time making precious memories. We enjoyed every bit of it!! It was absolutely perfect and beautiful !

We were so pleased with our stay! The house was wonderful and you can’t beat the location being so close to town and RMNP! The only disappointment was no working laundry, otherwise everything was perfect! We hope to be back!

Location is amazing! House was clean and well supplied with basic needs. Kids loved playing air hockey. If you have a fire stick or Roku maybe think about bringing it for the tv in the bunk room, it has a dvd player but nothing else to connect to streaming apps. Hot tub was clean and worked well. We would definitely stay here again!

Inside of rental had everything we needed, outside was very overgrown and unkempt. Needs major work outside with yard and landscaping. Son has asthma and could not be upside due to all the overgrown grass and weeds.

We had a great time. Beautiful scenery. Saw elk in the front and backyard everyday! House was clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was the perfect ending after hiking and shopping!! We hope to return this summer!

The kitchen had so much. We did buy a soup pot and donated it. But they had everything else and more that we didn’t even think of. The host was extremely responsive and answered questions during our stay. The hot tub was amazing as well! We would come back!

The 3 of us stayed in this house and it was perfect for us! It had everything we needed to cook, relax and sleep! We had elk and mule deer in our backyard and enjoyed the hot tub every night! The air hockey table was fun but needs some TLC, and the pans tend to stick quite a bit after use, even after I let it season overnight lol! There is only 1 shower but 2 bathrooms. The gas fireplace made it feel very cozy and it kept us toasty! Overall though a very pleasant stay for us!

We had a wonderful weekend at this rental. The house was well stocked and had beautiful decorations making it feel like home. The hot tub with its built-in lights made for relaxing evenings when the kids were asleep. The home is situated in an open valley and had wonderful views of the surrounding hills, but it did make it extremely windy throughout the day. The air hockey table was broken, but that wasn't important to us. Our one complaint was that the floors weren't vacuumed when we came in, but we contacted the owners and they resolved our concern. Would definitely happily stay here again.

Our family opted for an experience over gifts for Christmas this year and Elk Haven Retreat fit the bill perfectly. There was plenty of room for the 8 of us, but it felt cozy at the same time. We woke each morning with a beautiful mountain view. We were close to town and to the RMNP entrance. The hosts were quick to respond when we had a question about lighting the pilot on the fireplace. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. We had a great time and made great memories. Definitely recommend!

The house was a great place to hang out with the family. The living room and was just right for 6 ppl. The location is only a short drive into town, but right next to an entrance to RMNP. The hot tub has been updated to include a wooden fence, which really helped with the insane wind we experienced on and off.

Great experience. Clean cabin and great location!

The cabin and property was as advertised. It was a few minutes away from the heart of town but perfect for getting into RMNP gate bright and early as it is kind of a back way to get there. Julie accommodated us checking in a little earlier and everything was perfectly clean and ready for us. It was EXTREMELY windy our second day there so we used the hot tub but only for a short bit because it was almost too cold to stay outside! Plenty of room with 3 bedrooms and the kitchen had all the basics so we didn’t have to buy more than What we cooked. We would stay here again in the future.

This was a great place to stay for our family experiencing the Rocky Mountain National Park! The hot tub was welcoming, the air hockey was wild entertainment for the evenings, and the space was room enough to unwind!
4.9
The property was spacious and comfortable. We used the hot tub almost every night. The property wasn't quite as secluded as we thought it would be (more traffic noise than we expected) and we never saw any wildlife around the property. We would stay here again.

This place is the perfect location with an amazing view of the mountains. Literally 2 minutes from town (Estes Park) and 5-7 from the entrance to RMNP! The place is excellently stocked for cooking in or enjoy some of the great restaurants nearby. The hot tub and the air hockey table were extra blessings. Thanks to our hosts! Book it today! You will not be disappointed!

This is one great palace in an even better location! The house is very well furnished and decorated and it's located very close to the Beaver Meadows entrance to the RMNP and the Bear Lake trail. We had a family of Elk right by the windows today! A great place that we would be thrilled to come back to!

Family Vacation
We enjoyed our stay in Colorado. The house was just the right size for our family and had the staples we needed to cook a few meals there. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings.

Cozy Cabin
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was really nice to have the essentials in the home. I wished it to be a little cleaner on arrival. Kitchen was fairly dirty and the coffee pot, spent sometime cleaning. Ceiling fans need some attention, few lights are burned out, and hot tub jets only work in one seat. The space of the cabin was perfect size for family of 4. Loved all the Elk that surrounded the cabin, the view was spectacular, and it was fun watching the neighbors horses.

We arrived at 3:50pm, the cleaner and a hot tub maintenance person were still at the house. Check in wasn’t until 4pm so we drove over to the lake nearby to waste some time. We got back about 10 minutes past 4, and they were still there cleaning. We needed to use the facilities so we went in quickly, and opted to hang out outside until the cleaner was finished. The gentleman managing the hot tub indicated he would require a bit more time, but would only need access outside. We unpacked the car and found that despite the cleaner having just left there were piles of crumbs on the floor in several places. The house smelled so heavily of cleaning products it triggered a coughing fit. We opened windows to air out the cleaning product smell, and despite being a 60 degree sunshiny day we couldn’t get the house cooled down. All of the thermostats were set to 69 deg F and locked out. I messaged the owner after trying to follow the notes left about the thermostats and SEVERAL hours later she replied indicating that she would have to adjust them for us, and what temperature did we want!! For the nightly rate we paid, I would expect to have autonomy over the temperature of the room thermostats. Especially since we were keen to have them set quite a bit lower than where the owner had them set and locked. We typically select properties that have hot tubs as a nice treat. We prepared to go out and indulge ourselves under the cool night sky only to find out that the hot tub was at a measly 77 deg F. I messaged the owner inquiring about the frigid temp. Apparently the guests before us had trashed the hot tub requiring it to be drained, cleaned, and refilled. The owner indicated that it should only require a few hours to get up to temp. At this point it had been filled and on for 4 hours and was only 77. The owner suggested that it would likely be ready around 10pm (I finally heard the heater kick off around midnight). Frustrated about the lack of access to the amenity we went to bed. I should mention the mildew smell around the hot tub. The king sized bed was one of the worst sleeping experiences I have ever endured. The mattress was hard, and yet we sunk in. Every time we turned over the noise woke the other person. The wind and hot tub noise kept us up. We found the kitchen to be very poorly stocked (no pot large enough to cook pasta in). Finally, the instructions left for the fireplace were terrible. Overall we were relieved to head home.

Spring Break family getaway
We area family of 3 (max kiddo is 8) and we spent 4 days in Estes with our close friends (also a family of 3) . The air hockey table was an absolute winner with everyone! We played games, enjoyed the hot tub, and appreciated the quiet neighborhood. The location is perfect, only a few from the market and town. We will be back for sure!!

Our stay was great, a short drive to a couple of great restaurants. 10 mins to the entrance to the park and 10 mins to downtown Estes park. Hot tub was great. Shower only, no bathtub.. just in case that helps anyone. One full bathroom and one half bathroom. Property was easily accessible with AWD in winter months. Even with a heavy snowstorm that we received while there. Overall, highly recommend this property. Stargazing was amazing!!
