About this farm stay rental
Beautifully restored country farmhouse, originally built in 1795. The house sits on 4.6 private acres within an expansive, 180-acre working farm in the historic and cozy town of Salem, NY. The house consists of five bedrooms, two full bathrooms, an impressive library, cozy living room with wood-burning stove and flat screen TV featuring Netflix, Hulu and Amazon and a wide selection of DVDs, cheery sun room with gorgeous views of the property, and a rec room with slate pool table, foosball table, table tennis, loads of board games, and a record player with collection of vintage records. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking and entertaining needs, and there is ample of space in the common areas to comfortably accommodate large groups.
Our beautiful backyard features an in-ground, heated, salt water swimming pool (open May to mid-October), deck with lounge seating and spa jacuzzi (jacuzzi is open year-round), dining table that seats 12, gas grill and a fire pit (also open year-round and we provide one bundle of complimentary wood). Whether you're hiking through the nearby hills, touring the barns to feed and play with our friendly animals, or walking to town to explore the local shops, your stay here will be one of a kind.
Our Farmstead is home to goats, chickens, horses, donkeys, a pony, pigs and barn cats, all who love attention. In the spring-fall, we also host cows who come to pasture and have their calves on the farm. We offer supervised tours of the barns so guests can feed and play with the animals. You can also collect fresh farm eggs in the chicken coop.
There are two ways to stay at BBFV - the Farmhouse (open year-round) and the Glampground (open Memorial Day Weekend through Columbus Day). Each can be rented by one group at a time and share the larger farmstead (fields, hiking trails, farm barns etc.). The Farmhouse, backyard with pool, jacuzzi, fire pit and the 5 acres of lawns it sits on are private to the group that rents the Farmhouse. The Glampground and pines that surround it are private to that group. The Farmhouse uses the upper driveway to enter/leave while the Glamground uses the lower driveway.
The Farmstead is conveniently located within a 35 minute drive to popular places such as Saratoga Springs and Lake George, NY and Bennington and Manchester, VT that boast lots of activities and things to do -- wineries, golf courses, spas, outlet shopping, horseback riding, lakes for boating, swimming and kayaking, laser tag, movies and more. We are less than an hour from Albany International Airport. In the winter, ski local New York mountains like Willard and West mountains that are under 20 minutes away, or drive 35 minutes into VT to beautiful Bromley. We are an hour from Stratton Mountain, the largest mountain in the area.

Our group was two families, 4 adults, 5 kids. Our kids had the best time at the farm. They loved waking up every day to run with the chickens and feed the animals. Sam and Vlad, who work the farm, were awesome and especially nice to the kids. The house was huge, and easily accommodated our group with extra room to spare. We were extremely happy
With our vacation and would recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing, peaceful family vacation.

The farmhouse was perfect for a family gathering! Indoors the house is warm and welcoming for adults and children alike. The pool, jacuzzi and surrounding deck were perfect for informal gatherings. The highlight, however, was being on a working farm! Our grandson loved the farm tour, and we send a special thanks to Sam for his understanding of children's curiosity. We hope to return!

Perfect for kids and adults. Kids loved the outdoor pool, the farm tour. The kids had fun riding their bikes on the farm and had fun on trampoline. The farm is close to Saratoga, Lake George, Manchester Vermont.

We had so much fun on our trip. The house had everything we needed and so much more. The farm was magical, the hot tub was restorative, the house was perfectly appointed, and the host was a dream to communicate with. We can't wait to stay again!

We had a three-generation family trip at the farm over Presidents' Day weekend. The house was warm, inviting, and well appointed. The kids loved the game room and everyone enjoyed the hot tub. We skied at Bromley which is about 40 minutes away. Hosts were super responsive and friendly. We'd definitely come back!

This farmhouse did not disappoint! Gorgeous views, comfortable beds, and lots of things to keep all ages happy. Sarah the host and Ian were very attentive and kind. We especially enjoyed the farm tour with Ian where the kids collected fresh eggs for breakfast and fed the animals. We will definitely be coming back!

If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway with a small group, do not miss out on your chance to stay here! Sarah and her family were amazing hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed from day 1! The kids loved our farm tour and roaming chicken, swam in the pool every day and made sure to play every board game in the huge closet! They especially loved the "hidden" room full of toys and books! Would 1000% stay here again! (Can't miss out on the fresh eggs to make a delicious breakfast every morning too.)

We stayed recently at the farm house and had an amazing time. There were 12 of us and we fit perfectly in the house. One of the best parts was being able to sit at the huge table and ALL of us eat our meal together! Our animal tour was awesome and the kids loved it. The hot tub and firepit were wonderful. We had such a great time and plan to go back in the summer!! Cant wait!

We are working on our own home project in the area and needed a place that could host a large family group that was chipping in over the weekend. This place was an amazing find with plenty of room, great activities and just allowed for some great memories after a hard days work.
Thanks to to awesome hosts!

We just adore this place. We are a big group (3 couples and 4 kids) and the space is perfect for us. So cozy and cute but also very family friendly and comfortable. The kids loved being on the farm, jumping on the trampoline, swimming in the very warm pool, and playing with all the toys in the house. The property is absolutely stunning and you’ll want to be outside a lot! The house itself is so charming too and it feels like a home away from home now.

This house and property are amazing! We were a group of two - best friends from different continents who hadn’t seen each other since 2019. And this place was PERFECT for our reunion! We were lucky to experience a day full of thunderstorms. It gave us a great excuse to explore everything the house has to offer. Playing board games in the sun room while watching the lightning and listening to rain was the best part. And for the gorgeous sunny days, our time was best spent in the salt water pool and hot tub. What a treat for mid September!
We had our pick of the bedrooms, and everything was so clean, comfortable, and relaxing. I’ve never slept so well away from home. We shopped at a local bakery and the grocery store before heading to the house, so, once we got there, we never left. It was that good. We had farm fresh eggs every morning for breakfast, and the well-stocked kitchen had everything we needed to make all of our meals.
Thank you to Sarah, Cindy, and Ian for making our stay so wonderful!

BBVF is a hidden gem. I am so very thankful that I found this property for our family's 3rd annual vacation. The house and property is very well maintained by the owners. The check in and check out is seamless with excellent communication with the owners. The listing, though very nice, does not measure up what you will find when you arrive. Beautiful area, beautiful farm and wonderful animals. I would suggest booking your stay as early as possible to avoid missing out on this hidden gem. Thank you to Sarah, Cindy, Haliegh and Ian. It was a wonderful week.

I can't say enough good things about BBVF. I booked this house for my sister's bachelorette party (13 girls). The property/house are even better in person than the pictures. We had planned to go out, explore Saratoga, but we ended up spending most of our time lounging by the gorgeous pool because we didn't want to leave! One of the barn cats spent every meal by our sides and the chickens came to visit too! We will definitely be returning!

Our annual college-pals gathering had been on hold due to COVID. This was the perfect place! The first floor master made it easy for our friends with mobility concerns. There was tons of room for everyone. We loved being visited by the cats and chickens! Pool, jacuzzi, pool table, fire pit, sweet country air, perfect, perfect, perfect! Can’t wait to go back.

The best of everything.
What a beautiful location and property. We were a group of 8 adults and 5 children between the ages of 2-7. There was more than enough room for all of us and plenty to do. The pool, hot tub and farm animals kept us all happy and entertained. Sarah, Ian, Cindy and everyone involved in our stay were responsive and so helpful. The LaBarre family thank you all:)

Family Reunion Getaway
We recently completed our family reunion stay at the farm and had a wonderful, relaxing time! We loved getting a tour of the farm and meeting the animals, swimming in the pool, and having lots of large gathering spaces for our family of 15. The beds were comfortable and the communication with the manager was great! We agreed we would love to return!

Country Roads Take Me Home
This property was an amazing short vacation for my family. My teenagers become like kids again enjoying the farm animals, the trampoline, and playing games in the pool. The photographer in me relished the beauty of the surroundings. Thank you for allowing us to rent this amazing space.

Unforgettable place and experience
I cannot say enough good things about BBVF farmstead. We had a magical three day stay here and are already try to book our stay for next year. The house is set up perfectly for families. We were a group of 3 couples with 4 young children (2 toddlers, 2 babies) and staying here was so easy. Tons of kids supplies and toys and the two kid play rooms/bedrooms were a hit. The bedrooms were beautiful and large and there are two comfortable seating areas. We spent most of our days just walking around the farm and enjoying the beautiful deck and house. Sarah and Cindy were excellent and responsive hosts who also gave great recommendations for activities to do around the area.

Amazing, unique, secluded vacation
We had such a great time at the Blind Buck Farm house. Totally unique property, with both the serenity of a farm, and the comforts of a modern home. Our kids loved playing in the pool and visiting the farm animals. There is an amazing secret playroom in the house, which your little ones are sure to love. The adults loved the peace and quiet, hot tub, great outdoor dining area, and the pool room with bar and record player. Sarah and Cindy were wonderful, attentive hosts. We hope to stay there again one day soon!

Perfect Serene Getaway
Myself and 11 other girls stayed here for a bachelorette weekend. We truly had an amazing stay and the pictures of this house/property do not do it justice. The house had everything we could possibly need, was extremely clean and comfortably slept us all. The views were stunning and picturesque.
One of our highlights from the weekend was the farm and garden tour with Cindy (as well as her “helpers” Austin and Holden), we talked about it the rest of the trip! You can tell the animals and farm are taken care of extremely well and it was so interesting to hear Cindy talk so lovingly about all the animals and their stories, even down the the chickens.
The pool and hot tub kept us very busy and they were impeccably clean! We hired Michelle from On A Limb to cater dinner one night- she was great to work with and her food was delicious! Having tables inside and outside that fit us all was definitely a plus.
I would recommend this place to everyone! We had no complaints and as we were packing our cars to leave we were talking about how we can’t wait to come back!

Second stay, even better than the last!
We visited Blind Buck Valley Farm for the first time last year, when the world was still very shut down. This summer, not only was the property obviously as fabulous as the last time, but we took advantage of the location. We spent a day in Saratoga Springs, one afternoon tubing on the Battenkill River and another hiking in Vermont. When our adventures were done, we returned to a swim in the saltwater pool, hot tubbing, cooking together, playing pool and making s'mores by the fire. I can't say enough about the farm, everyone in our group loves it, from tweens to teens to adults!

Loved our stay!
We had the absolute best time at Blind Buck Valley Farmstead! The farm animals were such a fun addition to our vacation and the tour was amazing. The home was very comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. The outdoor patio and pool are were our favorites.
The only call out I have for families of young children is that the doors don’t close from the hallway and noise travels in the house quite a bit. This made for a few challenging naps for us.

Amazing property!
First of all, the owners and property managers are top notch! Cindy texted while we were on our way there to welcome us and let us know she was our contact for anything we needed. We have been renting properties for over 30 years and that's a first!
Those working in the farm area made our grandchildren feel so welcome and let them help feed the animals daily. The pool and patio are so welcoming and comfortable! As for the house, they thought of EVERYTHING, from anything you might need in the kitchen to everything children want, including a changing table for the little ones! There's even a play kitchen! The toys and games are all clean and there are tons! I can't say enough about this place. Perfect for families... there's something for everyone!

Amazing escape
The property is lovely, and the sisters are very communicative and helpful. I highly recommend the farm tour! It rained and was cold most of our Memorial Day visit; however, there was no better place to be. Our group of ten are all avid pool players and the table is well taken care of...but it’s not the only thing to occupy a large group if the weather keeps you from the pool and the hot tub! Puzzles, board games and hundreds of records will also distract you from the weather. Highly recommend.

Great Escape!
Just a fantastic escape for all of us! The house is extremely comfortable (well except for the king mattress but not a big issue) and so full of character, we loved it!! The amenities fit our group of 2 families so well - the teens were thrilled with the hot tub (esp at night under the lights) and excellent WiFi service; the tweens loved the farm animals, trampoline, ping pong and pool tables and hot tub and the parents were all very happy with the lovely sun porch, hot tub and farm animals. Not a tremendous amount to do in the area in March - we walked the sculpture garden, browsed a few antique shops, saw maple sugaring in process, ate lots of ice cream from Battenkill Creamery and spent a day in nearby Vermont (Dorset, Manchester and chocolate bar decorating at the Village Peddler in Arlington), but mostly we hung around the farmstead. I have to give special thanks to Cindy and Krista who were incredibly patient, cheerful and thoughtful with our tweens and their fascination with the animals (and even brought a playmate for our dog). They did not bother us if we did not want to be bothered, but boy did our littles bother them - and they kept on smiling through it all! Highly recommended .

Perfect Getaway Weekend
We rented the house for a weekend with close friends. It was perfect for relaxing by the wood stove, playing old records on the record player, and eating dinner at the big table. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. Manager was very responsive and worked quickly to resolve a slight issue with the heat. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, beautiful well maintained property!

Perfect Getaway
We loved staying at BBVF. It allowed us to safely take a vacation and enjoy the peacefulness of the land all at once. The hosts were amazing and provided a farm tour and fresh eggs. Sunsets from the hot tub were breathtaking and there was more than enough room for our party of 11 (including 4 couples). Can’t wait until we get to go back. Highly recommend!

Wonderful Stay
Just what our little family needed as a respite from Covid monotony. The farm tour was a huge highlight, as was feeding the chickens our daily compost. The kids were obsessed with the hot tub! Thank you for a wonderful chance for our family to reconnect!

A Truly Magical Winter Getaway
We could not have asked for a more beautiful and relaxing place to spend Christmas! Our family of four (parents and two teens) and our two dog friends loved every minute we got to spend at BBVF. The house is even more magnificent than the photos would suggest. It's gorgeous, and every detail is perfectly finished. Anything and everything we could have needed was there. The house was super spacious- our group really had room to spread out, and we look forward to coming back in non-COVID times with family and friends- there's definitely enough space for a crowd. And somehow, even with three feet of snow on the ground, it was super warm and cozy! The bathrooms were well appointed and stylish. The bedrooms were lovely and very comfortable. Everything was impeccably clean! We loved the kitchen and dining area- we cooked every day, and anything we could have needed was there. Our teenagers were kept well entertained with the pool table, hot tub, and super friendly cats. We had a blast exploring the game cabinet- so many cool and fun things we'd never seen before! We loved our (socially distanced and masked) farm tour, and our dogs loved walking in the hills around the farm. We parked our car when we checked in and didn't get back in for five days- other than a lovely walk into town we didn't leave the property- so very relaxing! We sat in the hot tub and built fires in the fire pit every day- the outdoor space is gorgeous. Really I can't say enough wonderful things. Sarah and her team were amazing- helpful, attentive, and really thought of every detail. The most relaxing vacation we've ever had- we can't wait to come back!

Bucolic paradise
We had a magical experience at saras farm. My 5 year old asks regularly when we can go back there. The house is beautiful and comfortable. The land is more beautiful than the pictures suggest. We visited during the pandemic and I was worried about getting bored but there is so much to do in the house and on the property with the animals and the surrounding area. We definitely plan to return.

My friends and I stayed at Blind Buck Valley as a couples getaway/birthday trip. Our experience was nothing but positive from beginning to end. Sarah sent us an extremely detailed email upfront and connected us to Michelle at On a Limb Catering, a truly delicious catering company. The pictures of the house are beautiful but we were still unprepared for just how beautiful the property is in person. The backyard is gorgeous with sprawling views, string lights, a hot tub, a fire pit, a pool and a large outdoor table to sit around. Every room in the house was charming and thoughtfully laid out. The bedrooms were really pretty and spacious. Most of all, the place was sparklingly clean. I can be pretty picky about that, and have a hard time getting comfortable if a house doesn’t seem cleanly, but this property was truly immaculate. It also has everything you could ever need. Much better supplied than many other Airbnb’s I’ve stayed at. Truly everything you need to settle in and feel at home for the weekend.I would also highly recommend using On a Limb Catering while you’re there. Michelle worked with us to create a perfect menu (even with some tricky dietary restrictions) and set it all up for us to have dinner under the stars on Saturday night without lifting a finger. The food was delicious and very generous. We all were able to bring home a bit of leftovers. We will definitely be back and highly recommend the farmstead to everyone.

Perfect getaway, 5 star hospitality
Spent a few days with my family at BBVF and wow - it was just perfection! The house is spacious and well equipped with fun things to do and modern amenities. The pool, hot tub, outdoor space were clean and amazing additions. The hospitality was five stars. Farm tour was excellent. Salem is quaint, not a lot of stores, so definitely plan ahead for groceries (ask the owners for recommendations you can pre order locally). Highly recommend driving up the sculpture hill at Salem Art Works. Will definitely be back to BBVF!!

Wonderful stay at BBVF,,will definitely be returning
We couldn't have asked for a better rental property. We had everything we needed and more. Krista, the farm manager was great and answered every question promptly. The house was beautifully updated and the outside was where we spent most of our time, was breathtaking. The children loved the animals especially the three kittens. We hope to return again!
