A cozy and comfortable stay. Extremely clean and well stocked. Location is great….walking distance to downtown. Don’t miss out on the bakery directly across the street. Friendly neighborhood.
We would definitely stay here again….Highly recommend.

The house was nice. The location was extremely convenient. It was an older home so smelled kind of musty. The queen bed was not our style… it was very noisy and we didn’t find it comfortable. The property manager was very kind and responsive.

The house was great with great history. The whole neighborhood is great. We loved walking to eat and shop. I felt very safe and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable and the house has plenty of room. The only problem is if you plan on cooking you might need to bring cookies sheets lucky I do this when I travel because I bake. The house is very clean and I love the kitchen sink I would recommend this house.

Convenient walk to Bardstown square. Comfortable and nicely appointed. Only drawback, which was minor for us two couples, was having a single bathroom. Our second stay here and highly recommended.

Everything was clean. Bardstown was having a low water pressure issue during our stay. Margaret Sue stopped by with a gallon of water, which was very nice.

This was our second time staying in the Bourbon Cottage. We fell in love with it - and the charming town - even more the second time around! Margaret Sue is a great host!

House is very clean, had everything we needed for our stay, and is in a super location right in town. Weather was nice so we got to enjoy the side and front porches as well. Check in was as easy as it gets and check out was even easier. Had a great stay and would definitely stay here again!

We’ve stayed here twice in the past three years and it’s great. The exterior is charming as is the interior. The kitchen is great to cook in, the bathroom is spacious, and the bed is super comfy! There is some street noise to contend with but we don’t find it outrageous.
The location is just one block off the Main Street where the shops and restaurants are. The Scout & Scholar brewery is less than a block away and has a really lovely courtyard if the weather is nice.
If you like hiking it’s just a short drive to Bernheim Forest.
Margaret Sue is a very gracious and responsive host. There’s a large binder in the kitchen with plenty of info you might need. There is coffee and snacks waiting on the counter, and bottled waters in the fridge. We will gladly stay again!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Bourbon Cottage!
The location is perfect for exploring downtown via walking, the neighborhood is gorgeous, and the bakery next door is yummy.
The cottage was super clean with all the necessary amenities and lots of extra thoughtful touches. Sipping cocktails on the front and side porches was the perfect way to end each day.
We would definitely stay here again!

This house is beautiful. It has all the modern features of today but also reflects the historical nature of Bardstown and early Kentucky. The beds, couches, chairs were all super comfortable, and we definitely enjoyed sitting out on the covered porch. The location could not be better. It is right in the historical downtown area. There are shops and restaurants within a few hundred feet and a bakery right across the street. The food was excellent. Highly recommend the Scout and Scholar (closest to the house) and Mammys kitchen

The location is great. Easy walking all round the downtown area. Across the street from a good bakery. The house was clean and the hostess was very easy to deal with. We live in a very rural area that is extremely quiet so the positive of being in a very walkable area also means it is an area with more activity and noise. It was an issue for us at night but the other couple we traveled with who are used to a busier area it didn’t bother at all. The 2 single bed mattresses are comfortable but the bed frames were very creaky and that isn’t the reply from us being used to a more quiet area they are just noisy beds. At 6’1” the headboard and footboard makes the singles pretty hard to sleep on comfortably but if your a bit shorter that wouldn’t be a problem. I was told by the couple with us the queen mattress is a bit worn with a dip in the middle. The bathroom is very large and well equipped. The shower is nice and with on demand hot water we didn’t run into any issues with 4 people. The kitchen is large enough and in very good condition. The main living room, the one just off the kitchen could use 2 better chairs. There is a small sofa that is comfortable and 2 chairs that are not the best comfort wise. We didn’t spend anytime in the from sitting room but there is additional seating in that room. Overall a positive stay. Some travelers wouldn’t have any issues with the few things that bothered us.

The Bourbon cottage is absolute perfection! In fact, it was so comfy and cozy, we didn't want to leave the house. We parked our cars, walked everywhere. Wonderful food, shopping, and friendly folks at every turn made the cottage even more enjoyable. The down side? The weekend went too fast! Thank you Margaret Sue!

We loved the Bourbon cottage. The house itself was very quaint, extremely clean and comfortable. Location was wonderful. We walked to most places we wanted to go. I read a previous review commenting on the noise but I always sleep with white noise and it was totally enough to block out street traffic. But if ear plugs or an eye mask were needed, they were provided. Would highly recommend this rental!

Just a wonderful few days at this home. This property had everything we needed to enjoy the time there. It has a ton of period charm. Clean and well furnished. So close to everything we wanted to do after visiting distilleries. Cafe Primo for delicious pizza! Bardstown Burgers were fabulous. (Double Spicy for me) Volstead Bourbon Bar was a great time! The bakery next door is a must! But go early!!

Excellent communication with the host - Even let us know when we could check in early if needed. She took only a minute or two to answer each time we had a question. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was huge with a double sink, which was nice since I went with three other ladies. The rooms were large, with adequate seating for all of us. We were within walking distance of many wonderful shops and restaurants, with a donut shop just across the street. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here.

Charming property
This is a charming property! The house is well kept and thoughtfully decorated. It's conveniently located right next to a bakery and a short walk to downtown! We sat on the side porch and listed to the live music that was coming from the local brewery that is a few doors down. It was a little loud on Saturday night with traffic and people until the wee hours of the morning but luckily my teenagers aren't bothered by much. We thoroughly enjoyed freshly made pastries on Sunday morning from the bakery. The house was clean and beds were comfortable. I appreciated the little details like coffee and snacks that were left for us. We would definitely stay here again!

Adorable house in excellent location
We chose this house for its character and awesome location. My daughter and I went on nice walks around the town which is easy because it’s right by the Main Street. The neighbor was very friendly and offered ideas on places to go. Overall very comfortable. I’m too short for the bed but I used the footrest that goes with the chair next to the bed to step up. Can’t wait to come back sometime and see more of Bardstown.

Downtown Bardstown in a cute blue 19th century home.
Check in process was very smooth. Home was very clean, actively cared for. Comfortable beds. Plenty of room in the kitchen, check out that sink.... nice touch!
Oh, and the bakery across the street let us indulge our sweet tooth with delicious doughnuts and pastries.
Walk to restaurants and shops in downtown is just 1 block away!
