About this house rental
Enjoy the beautiful views from our gorgeous, recently-renovated -- new floors, granite countertops, stainless appliances, and sectional sofa -- cabin home, 'in town' and just a short walk to either Grand Lake or Shadow Mountain Lake. Secluded enough to ensure plenty of peace and quiet, you won't find it unusual to see moose, elk, foxes, and other wildlife feeding on our wildflowers during the morning/evening.
Grand Lake is a quaint historic town that serves as the western 'less-crowded' entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park -- access to the park is a short 100-yard walk from our cabin! -- and provides an abundance of both summer & winter activities. Golfing, boating, swimming, fishing, water-skiing, jet-skiing, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, along with the many restaurants, ice cream shops, gifts shops, live theater, and social events in town make this an ideal summer vacation.
Our 2BR/2BA home can accommodate up to 6 adults, has been equipped with designer bedding & hand-selected furnishings to convey a 'contemporary rustic' feel. The master bedroom offers a queen bed w/ private bath, the 'kids' room offers a twin/full bunkbed with trundle, and the new sectional sofa in the family room. For those who want to stay connected we have our own free wi-fi connection for you to enjoy fast and secure browsing and streaming.

Very clean, close to things to do. Overall was very good

Family of five from Iowa. Cabin was extremely clean and the town of Grand Lake is beautiful, friendly and very quaint. Had a great time lounging at the cabin and walking thru the shops in town. Met some great people playing bingo in the town square on Saturday night as well. Awesome hiking trailheads were a stone's throw away so we didn't really need to go anywhere or prep for anything.
The only annoyance was that the road leading to the cabin was extremely narrow due to construction on a new home in the area. The crew parked their trucks on the side of the road and getting in and out of the cabin was an adventure.
Would definitely go back to this cabin and GL in the future!

This cabin is lovely! Great location! Close to town, but up on the mountain ensuring quiet and privacy. Very close to the park entrance. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfortable. The house was very clean and the owners communicated very well with great recommendations. The hummingbirds at the feeders are amazing and there pretty much all day! We also saw multiple mama and baby deer in the yard. We love Grand Lake and would definitely return to this property.

Beautiful views from back deck; hummingbirds frequented the feeder we put out. The hosts, Joe n Casey, were very nice, always offering any help with our stay.
As vrbos go, this place is a jewel. The bed was so comfortable and the bed sheets were so soft and of high quality as were the towels. The master bath shower was a little small for my husband, so he used the guest bath tub/shower.
The kitchen was well stocked with just about everything. The living room was perfect with a sofa that was comfortable and large enough to ly down on. Finally, we stayed at a vrbo that isn't furnished with old and worn second hand quality furniture. When you pay this kind of money for a vrbo, you expect great quality but do not always receive it. BUT this vrbo delivered in every way!!
This vrbo was worth the money, is a first class place! Thanks, Joe n Casey for a great stay!

We arrived on Christmas Eve with our family to frozen sewer. It was backing up in the showers and the stools upon you so we contacted the owner and we drove downtown to the library and use the public bathrooms that were open.
Christmas Day still couldn't get a plumber, so the same situation the very next day the owner worked with us and got us in the condo downtown which was somewhat suitable. The owner worked hard at trying to get us taken care of. It was a bad situation and he there was no win for him Again I want to reiterate did everything he could for us

This place was amazing and the views did not disappoint for our girls trip. Coffee on the deck early am was breathtaking and spotting two Moose was a great start for the first am there. The cabin was well furnished and very modern with its decor and appliances.
Looking for a place to relax and recharge you found it with this place in Grand lake.

The property is nice and we enjoyed our stay. A couple of things that I didn't like about our reservation. The first thing was after paying an initial deposit we were sent house rules which included how we were to put bedding and towels in the laundry and have clean before we leave! If i have to do laundry and pay a cleaning fee odds are I wont go back! The house was as clean when we left as when we arrived! The house cleaner wont have a thing to do other than make the bed! The biggest problem I have with the hole scenario is you are reliant on the last people who stayed there to make sure the bedding and towels are clean! I don't like that! Another thing I didnt care for was i had to haul trash into town to get rid of, not as big a deal but still a hassle that shouldn't have to happen. All of this and I still had a cleaning fee to pay!

This was our second stay at Kigins' Cabin, and it was every bit as wonderful as the first one. The lovely house was clean, comfortable, relaxing and well-stocked. Owners Casey and Joe have recently added new kitchen appliances and a new sectional in the living room. They are excellent hosts who genuinely care about their guests' experience. The house is in a quiet, hilltop (so accessed by steep road!) neighborhood literally three minutes from downtown Grand Lake, and Mountain Market grocery store is even closer. If you want a great home base on the "quiet side" of RMNP with quick access to the park, this is the place for you. Special note for hummingbird lovers: if you visit during hummer season, you'll love all their activity around the two feeders on the deck!
4.0
The cabin is a good size with a very well stocked kitchen, very convenient to town and RMNP. The only downside is it is not walking distance to town and the steep road would be a problem in winter.
5.0
The west entrance to RMNP is close by and is a much quieter and less traveled area of the park compared to the east side. This cabin is in a perfect location to hit some less populated trails and to go wildlife viewing in the meadows at dusk.
Joe is an excellent host and checked in with us several times to be sure everything was alright. He also provided suggestions on restaurants and nearby trails to hike.
I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone wanting the beauty and peace that it provides.

The host was willing to comunicate us, and the cabin was very nice.

We loved that we could take a 5 minute drive to the park or the town activities. The location also made it where we could just sit and enjoy the view or play cards with the family without any noise or distractions! Loved this place!! Highly recommend!!

We loved this place! We came in town for a family reunion and spent 3 nights here. We didn't get a chance to cook/use the stove or grill as we were visiting other families around town, but everything seemed well stocked.
The hummingbirds are incredible! The views are perfect. It cooled off enough at night to be comfortable.
I recommend staying here. We were lucky that two more of our family stayed nearby. Super convenient to everything.

We found this cabin a great place for us! It was clean, had brand new appliances and a sectional couch, great view of the lake and mountains from the deck, and very close to town but not in the hustle and bustle of foot traffic. The hummingbirds were fun to watch. Joe was awesome and quite responsive. We hope to rent again!

This is our second visit to Kigin Kabin. Important to us are the convenient location, beautiful views, well stocked kitchen, 2 bathrooms, nice big space for gathering. It is light and bright and immaculately clean. Appreciate the excellent communication and quick responses from owner. Love the new appliances and other recent upgrades. Note to owner: You really should improve those 3 steps to the front door. It's difficult to navigate for everyone--especially one with even the slightest handicap.

This was our first time to Grand Lake and we really loved this cabin! It was perfectly stocked, very conveniently located, incredibly clean and quiet! Quiet! It was such a pleasure to talk with the owner and they literally thought of everything that we could potentially need during our stay. If we are ever in the Grand Lake area again, we would not want to stay anywhere else! Thank you so much!

The Kigin’s cabin was perfect for our family. The cabin itself is wonderful with beautiful views from the deck and living room. We played games and watched movies on the comfy sectional in the living room most nights. The cabin is very close to RMNP, which was so convenient as we went there several times. Joe was a great host and checked in with us to make sure our stay was going well. We loved our stay and would love to go back! Thank you!

Took us a minute to find it, but then it was a great spot for a family stay in Grand Lake. Minutes from the town and the national park, fully walkable (if you don’t mind a steep hill), clean and well kept. Incredible views. Hummingbird feeders outside gave us an endless source of entertainment. Would love to return.

Perfect spot for our family of five! We came up to get some skiing in and it was only a short trip to Winter Park. The town of Grand Lake had everything we could need and was an idyllic winter town. The cabin was the perfect spot to take in the views while playing a family game and had everything that we could need. Would love to come back for the summer season!

This cabin is amazing! The views, cleanliness, location and all your needs are within this cabin. All u need is your food. The owner Joe is quick to respond and covers all check in and out process which makes this so easy for us. I have to agree with other reviews a curtain on the kitchen door would help with that afternoon heat from the sun. Joe thanks so much for sharing your cabin with us! See you next yr!

House is clean and in the perfect spot. Easy to get anywhere in town and a quick trip to RMNP. Thanks for an amazing experience!

The Kigins’ cabin is lovely, cozy and rustic. We enjoyed the beautiful view of Grand Lake from the porch. Couple small things: Afternoon sun coming into the living room was quite bright and heated up the room. (Good for winter but the weather was mild when we visited so the room got quite warm.) The curtains are very light in fabric and color so didn’t quite block the sun enough - and there is no curtain at all on the porch door, which made the sunlight coming in extremely bright and the room uncomfortable to be in. Also, having to build in the extra time to strip the bed and wash & dry the bedsheets and towels while on vacation was a bit of an inconvenience since we were on a schedule to make our early timed entry to RMNP. Being close to RMNP‘s west entrance and the quick access to the Adams Falls trail was super convenient. The cabin is also located very close to town so that was also a plus. Overall, it is a lovely cabin and we enjoyed our stay.

This was our second time at the cabin and it did not disappoint. We loved drinking coffee on the deck and watching the day begin over Grand Lake. Everything was in working order and the kitchen was well equipped.

Great view, well stocked kitchen but property was tired. Real hot in afternoon in house and on deck. We bought an umbrella for the table outside and that helped. Joe was helpful and responded to questions promptly. Property close to everything. We enjoyed our stay in Grand Lake.

Fantastic location and property
This cabin had everything we needed including a great view of the lake. It is ‘in town’ but up away from the hustle and bustle (ideal for us!). We loved watching the hummingbirds and enjoying the cool mountain breezes. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and the beds are comfortable. We will definitely be back in the future.

Wonderful Stay
My wife and I were there with our 2 kids (2 and 4) for four nights and absolutely loved our stay. The cabin kitchen was well stocked (seasonings, flour, sugar, and equipment, etc.) and we made several meals during our time in the cabin. It was a great "base camp" for adventures into town, RMNP, and Monarch Lake. It was close enough to feel in town but enough off the beaten path enough to give a feeling of privacy and coziness. All our communication with Joe was also great and very pleasant! Thanks so much for our stay!!

Clean, comfy cabin close to the park
This cabin was at the perfect location for us, close to Grand Lake but also just minutes away from Rocky Mountain National Park. Our child enjoyed the bunk beds, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you might need for cooking during your stay. Great views of Grand Lake and the mountains. Joe was always really responsive to questions before and after our stay. We had a great time and hope to return again!

Good trip
Me and 2 friends stayed in Grand Lake for 4 nights and had a awesome time . Cabin was nice and clean with a good view and a well stocked kitchen . We were able to see wildlife from the porch everyday . The dryer in the house is older and can take a while with the bed linens which was kind of frustrating since you have to wash and dry all the beds before you leave on the last day. The rail on the porch is also getting some age on it. Starting to lean out a little and moves some when you lean on it . Overall had a great time .

Fantastic view
From up on the mountain, we had a fantastic view of the lake and the town. The house was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed. The surrounding area is amazing, as is the town.

Enjoyable stay
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Kigins cabin. There was the right amount of space for our family of four. The view of the lake and town is spectacular. We enjoyed watching the snow fall while we played cards and games at the kitchen table. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was plenty of paper needs stocked in the hall closest. Would definitely recommend for a family. We would love to come back and explore the RMNP when the snow melts.

Lovely Cabin Getaway
We loved this cozy cabin! It’s super close to downtown grand lake and about 45 minutes to Winter Park. I had a friend coming into town from California and wanted her to experience my favorite part of Colorado, GRAND LAKE! It was a beautiful snowy getaway and we did some snowboarding and snowmobiling as well. It’s a little bit of a hike to Winter Park resort but worth it to me:) The cabin was clean, well stocked, and had wonderful views. Thanks so much! I would love to stay here in the summer.

Spring break skiing
2 adults, a teenager and 9 year old twins agree that this is a great place to stay. It accommodated us for a week and we had no problems. The owners communicate well and obviously care about their property. The house offers a beautiful view of the surrounding area. I would stay here again. Grand Lake is a nice little town with several good places to eat and Granby is a 20 minute drive to skiing and a few more dining choices. If this house fits your needs you should stay here.

Great mountain getaway!
We rented this house for a long weekend. The views were stunning and the house had everything we needed for the weekend. We would highly recommend this property for anyone staying in Grand Lake.

Exactly as advertised and exactly what we wanted
The house is beautiful for a small family. It has perfect views of Grand Lake and enough room to spread out a little bit. Also a great kitchen and comfortable beds. Definitely worth staying here. Just make sure you have four wheel drive or chains, as the house is situated about a half mile up a steep grade. That of course gives it the wonderful views of town and the lake.

Great cabin
We very much enjoyed our stay. It was very clean and just as described.
