About this house rental
Make your visit to wine country memorable with a stay at the 5 star reviewed Historic Dayton Wine House on the National Historic Registry. You’ll feel the grandness of this 1885 Victorian home right when you step inside and experience its 11 foot ceilings and oversized rooms. This is the prominent home on the Dayton town square featuring over 3400 finished square feet, comfortably sleeping 11 people in 5 bedrooms with 2 full bathrooms. Perfect for both large or small groups.
It is very important to us that sleeping be a luxurious experience the same as staying at a high end hotel: the mattresses are so comfortable and the linens and towels are all clean, white and high quality, that guests frequently ask where they can get them for their own homes.
The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing a gourmet meal, with room for several chefs to cook at once. The 10 foot farmhouse table is a great gathering place and comfortably seats 12 people. There is a propane Weber for grilling and a large deck for enjoying a glass of wine outside. The half acre yard is perfect for kids or adults playing lawn games or just relaxing in the hammocks. Directly across the street the town square is a park including a playground, dog park and basketball court.
After a day of exploring and wine tasting, settle in to watch a movie on the theater-sized 135” HD projection TV with Paradigm speakers, or relax and listen to music in one of the leather club chairs in the adjacent living room. Or just take a soothing salt soak in the clawfoot tub.
Oregon is a world-class wine destination and recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of the first planting of its pinot noir grapes. The wine house is perfectly positioned in the middle of the Willamette Valley for easy access to taste at one of its 400+ wineries and also close to the towns of Mcminnville, Newberg, Dundee and Carlton. Multi-million dollar tasting rooms with jaw-dropping views and world class wines are only minutes away. We are happy to share our favorite wineries or help with any suggestions for your trip.
For dining, walk a few blocks to The Joel Palmer house, one of the best fine dining restaurants in the Willamette Valley whose menu centers around mushrooms and truffles the owners forage. For breakfast, just walk directly across the street to The Blockhouse Cafe in an immaculately restored 1886 church.
Juanita’s Cafe has ice-cream in the front and excellent Mexican food in the back. Seufert winery and tasting room is also directly across the street from the wine house.

The property has plenty of pace indoors and on the back deck to host family and friends attending a wedding at a local winery.
We appreciate the communication with the host and the amenities on the property.

We had a great time at this historic property, sharing it with our two children and extended family. The home theater, deck and park across the street were a huge hit with everyone.

This property is fully stocked with many thoughtful touches. White noise machines, ibuprofen, fluffy towels, soft linens. Five friends from law school thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location, beautiful backyard. The host was super responsive. Would return again.

We found this place while looking for a place to stay with our siblings before our wedding, and this was perfect!! The house is so beautiful and full of character, and the hosts were amazing to work with. Overall, it was a great landing place for all of us between wedding shenanigans!

This historic house was not only beautifully restored but also well appointed. It had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves if we chose to stay in but was also centrally located to great wine & restaurant locations. We will definitely be back!

We had a lovely stay at this gorgeous home in Dayton. Huge yard, big, comfortable rooms with lots of rooms for our group of 3 families to spread out. It was one of the most beautiful & unique homes we’ve stayed in and would do it again in a heartbeat.

The house is located in a quiet little town in the mist of the vineyards. Across the street is the town square with a small park. And on the other side of the square is Juanita’s, a great family owned Mexican restaurant and ice cream shop. It was great to get to know Juanita and it was our go-to place for tacos. Classic street tacos with a good beer on tap (for a break from all the wine).
The house is very spacious, great kitchen and a great yard which found perfect for bocce! We like to cocktail in the evenings with bubbles and bocce and we had a lot of fun. (Of course it seems most vineyards these days have a sparkling which we believe is made for afternoon bocce.)
The house was very clean and well stocked with supplies. We found it an easy in and easy out operation. We look forward to coming back for our next Willamette visit.

This is a beautiful property! It is very comfortable, with everything one could ask for. Our group came from multiple states and hadn't seen each other recently. We wanted a house where we could all be together and reconnect. The cousins loved the bikes and took them out multiple times to ride around town. The backyard games were a hit while we grilled out. The inside closet is well stocked with games and the cousins really enjoyed the theater sized screen to watch movies. Blue tooth speakers at the house provided the sound --and the beds are amazing!
This really is a great home, such a comfortable feeling to it!

The house is so big, open, comfortable and cozy! The pictures are accurate but I really could not tell from the pics just how roomy everything is. The ceilings are at least 12 feet high if not higher. Yard was great for our dog. Nice kitchen with most everything you need to cook. The park across the street is great with an added bonus of a Christmas tree lighting and Santa visit Saturday after Thanksgiving. Very close to most wineries and restaurants. Thank you so much! Highly recommend!

I stayed here with a few friends as we swept away from the suburbs and children into wine country. The hosts were absolutely accommodating! They allowed for lots of flexibility on checking in and were extremely friendly and available for communication. We were left a gift of a bottle of wine and a 6 pack of beer along with some sparkling water. Very generous and the house was spotless! The living room was so comfortable and relaxing. The ladies and I enjoyed coffee in the mornings here and also wine in the evening. The media room was so cool! Very comfortable for us all to chill out to watch both of the bad mom movies. Luckily we were able to find several movies using the HBO max and Netflix that were offered on the tv from the host. Each room was tastefully decorated in the Victorian style with a touch of modern comforts. Each of the 4 beds were equally comfortable with memory foam mattresses, rooms were equipped with earplugs as well as sounds machines and a fan if the noise from traffic became annoying. I didn’t notice anything but did use both the fan and earplugs at night as that’s what I do at home. The ambiance of the house is charming and holds a deep historical presence. We had a great time and very much enjoyed the house.

The property was 5 star in all areas...
The cleaner did a fabulous job of welcoming us and helping us park the trailer. Nice to have the park across the street for the kids to run around... We should have stayed another night...Yes, would book it again.

Was blown away with how incredibly cool this property is! The photos online do not compare with the home (and that’s saying something!) We stayed here for a wedding in town. Loved the history book provided about the homes history and the families that lived there!
Air conditioning worked like a champ downstairs and not so great upstairs but still tolerable in 90+ degrees. The beds were so comfy! The theater room “bean bag” chairs were incredible. Theater room overall was amazing and can connect to your phone or on Netflix, Amazon, Disney provided by the hosts. Back deck is awesome for hanging out. Fabulous communication with Kathy. There was some litter around the property that probably was blown in from the road? No biggie. And the house is located on a main street into Dayton so be prepared for loud vehicles driving by. Earplugs and white noise sound machines are provided (; lovely touch. Would stay again!

Peaceful, pet friendly, and clear
We had a great time staying in this historic house with our dog (two people, one dog). It was very clean, has everything, and we had great communication flow with Kathryn and Greg. The house is very spacious, with a great garden and good location to explore Oregon, Portland, and wine country. I would highly recommend it!

Excellent Find in Wine Country!
The Historic Dayton Wine House was a perfect stay for our work group! Our group of 10 were very comfortable in the house as there was plenty of space for us to relax, have our own private areas to decompress, and amazing common areas for everyone to comfortably congregate. Our only regret was that we only stayed one short evening and would have loved to use the incredible gourmet kitchen! Our dinner at nearby Juanita's, however, was delicious and well-priced! Our hosts were incredible with communication and took great care to make us feel welcome with a clean home. excellent ambiance and a bottle of wine to share. Thank you so much! We'd love to return!

Excellent Stay!
Stayed here for a weekend wine tasting trip. We loved how the house was centrally located to all the wineries we selected. The neighborhood was quiet and beautiful. The house was amazing. Loved the vintage charm! All the beds were very comfortable. I appreciated the crisp white bedding and cozy pillows. The hosts were super responsive to a chirping smoke detector that started acting up on our second day. The living room and dining room furniture and layout was perfect for our large group - never get cramped or uncomfortable. Got some time in one of the hammocks in the backyard and loved it! The deck is awesome too - very comfy for a large group to sit.

An absolutely adorable home. Would love to come back with my kids next time!
We stayed here as a group of friends for a wine trip. It was a perfect location, even walking distance to one tasting room and a couple restaurants. The house was clean, perfectly decorated, and had everything we needed. Would absolutely stay here again.

Loved!
This location was perfect for our adventures in Woodburn, McMinnville, and Carlton! The house had large bedrooms. The bathrooms had all the basic amenities. The kitchen was stocked with all the seasonings and supplies for cooking (which we didn't do as there were plenty of delicious restaurants between Dayton & McMinnville). We were warned of the traffic by other reviews, but we were still surprised at the amount of trucks that pass by. But the bedrooms had sound machines and ear plugs, not to mention the beds and pillows were quite comfy (I personally slept GREAT!). The media room was right next to the dining room - perfect to keep an eye on the little ones. We definitely enjoyed our stay at the Wine House! Thank you, Greg & Kathy!

Wonderful stay at the Wine House!
My partner and I along with some old friends and our dogs stayed at the Wine House for four nights. This place was amazing! Very lovely old house which has been fully updated on the inside. Every amenity is provided. Furniture and beds were extremely comfortable. The whole place was very clean and well stocked. Kathy the host was very welcoming and we felt right at home from the moment we got there. There is a wonderful back yard that was perfect the for the dogs to play and a great deck for visiting over a glass of wine. The best part is the easy access to the local wineries and shops. The house is perfectly situated to go in any direction to find the local flavor. And it was very nice to come back to afterwards!! I can highly recommend the Wine House of Dayton!

Nice House
Dayton is a nice central location for wine tasting, etc.
The house is located along a busy road, so there is a bit of traffic noise.
The size of the house is great and the kitchen has a good selection of cooking implements.
We were 2 couples, so the 2 bathrooms wasn't a problem. More than 2 couples might find it a little inconvenient.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay.

Fun historic stay
House is adorable, nice central location to zip around wine country. There's definitely a bit of traffic noise but ear plugs and noise machines are provided. Well stocked, dog friendly, check out instructions were pleasant and reasonable (not like some places that ask you to mow the lawn and vacuum lol). Would stay again.

Wonderful holiday weekend! Our family enjoyed the home, watching movies on the big screen and having breakfast at the large farm table. It’s central to everything and we look
Forward to returning next year as a family tradition.

This house is lovely! It’s WAY bigger than it looks in the pictures. We were 5 girls staying for a birthday wine weekend. The hosts’ recommendations are fantastic. We booked a private van for a 3-winery visit day on their suggestion. It’s very centrally located to visit any wineries. There’s a dive bar called the Bypass across the town square that was a fun last stop. There are only 5 or 6 Uber drivers in the valley, and only 1 is XL. Make sure to leave enough time to wait a bit.

I used this incredible historic house for a team building. It could have not been more perfect. Absolutely beautiful in every aspect of it. The house will blow your mind away given its age and charme, amenities and the fabulous beds. I will come back!

Can't wait to stay there again!
The house is gorgeous and has all the provisions that you could ask for. I don't have anything negative to say other than the traffic noise can be a bit much, but the owners have taken every step that they can to help control that. It's just lovely - and I can't wait to stay there again. :)

My family enjoyed our stay in this unique vintage home in a charming small town. While not without it's quirks, the owners clearly went to great lengths to make it homey and welcoming. The kitchen was well equipped (with the exception of salt and pepper shakers), the bedding and furnishings of good quality and comfort, and the massive TV a treat to enjoy watching sports. While there's a bit of early morning street noise, the rooms are thoughtfully equipped with both white noise generators and smart speakers. One of the best features is the lovely deck off the rear of the kitchen/dining area. The hammocks and yard are a welcome oasis too.Overall, the Winehouse was a real treat!

Wedding Vacation
We came to Oregon for our son’s wedding. Our stay in Oregon wine country was awesome. The house is beautiful and retains the historic look. The deck in the back is wonderful and the hammocks were a treat. Greg and Kathy are wonderful hosts who are quick to reply to questions and they communicated with us regularly as our trip approached. We will be happy to use this house again if the occasion presents itself.

Amazing Home-Would Definitely Recommended!!!
My friends and I rented this home for a girls weekend in wine country. It was so much better than the pictures and all the decor was incredible! We had plenty of essentials and the kitchen was well stocked. The backyard was perfect to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. We would definitely consider staying here again in the future!
