We loved our 2-week stay in Madison, WI just a block away from the lake. Our host was instantly responsive with the few questions that we had. This guest house has everything we needed: a well-stocked kitchen, lovely living room with gas fireplace and dining area. We all slept comfortably on firm mattresses with lovely linens. Although our grandbaby wasn't with us, we were pleased to note that everything we would need is available for a toddler, including safety gate to block the stairs.

The Snellman property was the perfect place to stay for my rotation at UW Hospital. It was a great location, just 3mi from the hospital. It was very clean and welcoming. The Snellmans were extremely accommodating and made sure I had everything I needed. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!

Cute house in the perfect location!
We came to Madison to support my mom through her surgery. It was important we have a place to relax and unwind after a long day at the hospital. This home was clean, comfortable and the neighborhood was so peaceful. The kitchen was wonderful and the owners have been incredibly thoughtful making sure you have all of the essentials. It was a quick 13 minutes to the hospital and just a few minutes to restaurants, shopping and grocery stores. We were able to focus on mom and get some rest in between visits. The owners were so considerate and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed.

Taychopera Residence
2 blocks from the lake in a wooded residential neighborhood. Hosts were friendly and well organized. See what appears when the wall tapestry rolls up by remote .

RELAXING LOCATION
Loved the house and the owner was very accommodating. The only thing negative I can say is that, unless you have lots of kids or adults who do not like to sleep together, there could be more double beds instead of so many single beds.

Perfect accommodations
We have traveled quite a bit and stayed at many VRBO properties over the years, and this property stands out. The house is immaculate. You can tell that a great deal of thought was put into making everything as simple as possible for the guests through thoughtful planning and simple discrete notes placed in spots throughout the house. The children immediately figured out the XBOX in the downstairs play area (with the box hidden away for a very clean look) and the younger children enjoyed the various age appropriate toys around the house. The kitchen had everything you could need, from a top of the line Nespresso machine, a cast-iron skillet that had been perfectly seasoned, and (call me an appliance freak) the top of the line Breville toaster that I have been eyeing for my own house. The location is absolutely ideal for Madison, just far enough away from downtown to enjoy the tranquility of the area and only a short walk to the lake (and the Original Pancake House for breakfast). Our hosts knew we had young children and took the liberty to set out some hula-hoops on the first sunny day of our stay. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Madison.

It is an incredible cottage with lovely hosts!
I was so fortunate to find this incredible home. My wife and two kids also absolutely loved it! The hosts were so accommodating and our 10 day vacation was everything we wanted and more. My son and I would walk to lake every morning and we created great memories that will last a lifetime.

Ironman Wisconsin- 2nd Time Stay
This was our second time staying at the cottage for Ironman Wisconsin. We stayed comfortably with 4 adults and 1 child. We cooked almost all meals at the house. Great kitchen tools/appliances....crockpot, blender, lot of cutting boards etc. So close to a lot of great restaraunts, mini-golf, National Mustard Museum, and the Ironman course. Mile 9/22 turn around of the IM run course is an easy 5 minute drive to a parking lot to cheer your athlete on! Super easy to get to the festivities and all areas of the course. Nice, quiet neighborhood. Friendly proprietors who are available for any questions or help if needed...but give you plenty of space to have your own family time as well. Lots of "little extras" for kids, princess castle, Lincoln Logs, etc. for use in the basement. Vast supply of paper products, towels, hand soap etc. Homey environment with professional, laid back owners...thanks for another great stay!

Best vacation rental ever!
We rent vacation rental homes often, and this was a great experience. First, I always look for enough high-quality beds, and the needs of our group of six was well-met. Next, I check to make sure that there is air conditioning if traveling in the summer (check). A modern and well-equipped kitchen is nice. (check - one of the bast in recent times) Also, when picking a place I check to make sure that there is a nice bathroom or two (check), safety, privacy and quiet (check) and that the owners are not deferring any upkeep (check). It's always nice when there is a code door lock, because that way our group can split up (and it's even nicer when the code changes between guests).

Great little cabin
We rented this place for two weeks this summer and had a great time. I can't speak highly enough of the owners and how impressed I was with them responding immediately and thoroughly to a few early issues when we settled in. It was nothing that couldn't be rectified in a few minutes but their willingness to help was amazing. They truly want you to have a comfortable and relaxing stay in their home. We wen't huge fans of the third bedroom being down in the basement but with it just being two adults and our two young daughters, we just used the upstairs rooms. The house is quite small but it has everything you need to be comfy and cosy throughout your stay.

Centrally located. Great for a toddler. Beautiful house.
I came to Madison for less than fun reasons. My mom needed to be at a health facility for a special ventilator that her hometown didn't have. I was living in Thailand at the time. I packed up my 2 year old boy and we rented this house for a couple weeks to oversee my mom's care. My husband was traveling at the time for work and so it made for a busy life with a toddler, some work to do in my spare time :), visiting my mom regularly and so forth. This house was perfect for a number of reasons. It's well stocked with bedding, kitchen supplies, even spices, garbage bags, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dishwasher pellets for the dishwasher and for washing by hand. It has super easy to use appliances. It's all high quality. No hassles and nothing caused me more work. It's a one floor house and smaller than what I visualized from the pictures on line, but that was fine for us. I told the owners I was coming with a two year old boy. They had a height chair, a travel crib, and a gate to block the stairs to the basement set up (The basement is nice and finished with a tv and fireplace - great for not making noise after the toddler was asleep). I didn't have to bring that stuff from across the world on this trip. They even had toys in the basement that I used. They lent me a small kid pool for a few days when the weather was nice . They invited me over to where they live where they have chickens he could chase and talk too. The price was higher than what I usually pay for a house rental, but I wanted easy for a difficult time and I received that. Oh and the internet was great. It handled everything with my distance work and my Netflix addiction after the little guy went to sleep. The driveway is long and great for parking. And it was a 15 minute drive to the hospital and a 10 minute drive to where my niece goes to graduate school. All in all, I give this 5 star. Did I mention really nice owners? They were really nice and I felt safe during my time when I was alone in a new place learning as I went. Thank you!

Charming home in lakeside neighborhood
The house is cozy and charming, located in a quiet neighborhood near the lake and just a short drive from downtown. Rooms are clean and tastefully decorated, and well stocked with luxurious duvets, towels etc. Jussi and Rosey are outstanding hosts - responsive, hospitable and very attentive. They left us a welcoming bottle of wine as well eggs, fruit and yogurt for breakfast. Jussi did an outstanding job shoveling the driveway after snow storms, even scraping the snow off my rental car. It was a stressful time for my family who had traveled from overseas to support a sick family member in hospital. The house provided a wonderful sanctuary for us to return to after daily hospital visits.

Wonderful home.
We stayed at the house over the long Thanksgiving weekend while visiting our son. We typically stay at VRBO/AirB&B when we travel and feel this was by far one of the nicest. It was comfortable and homey. Would stay there again on our next visit.

Great home for 5 adults
This is a great home in a lovely neighborhood. The home is small, but everything is well done. The backyard is very nice.
The kitchen is very well equipped and laid out. I cooked dinner one night and had everything I needed. The house is a short walk to Lake Mendota.
Do not miss The Original Pancake House for breakfast. Excellent! Mid Town Pub was very good too.
