Very helpful staff, right in the gorgeous historic centre, great price and facilities, beautiful old building, there’s a laundry business right across the street, good wifi and hot water (if someone doesn’t use it up, namely me 🤦♂️). I planned to stay 3 days but ended up extending to five!
Rather close to a nightclub, not too bad but bring your earplugs just in case!

Excellent value hostel friendly staff lovely old building one block from the center of town.highly recommend this hostel for value and location
5.0
The staff is great, very helpful and positive. The beds are very comfortable with great mattress and enough of blankets. It's cleaned daily. The location couldn't be better. Attention: it's not a party hostel, there's no common area and you can't party inside it. it's mainly for relaxing.
There's a karaoke bar nearby and it can be a bit loud in the end of the week. But that's not managed by the hostel, you can't complain about.

Great location, beautiful older building with spacious dorm rooms.
Uncomfortable bed (mattresses very worn from where people sit), bedroom door does not shut or lock. No coffee, no dish soap, no utensils in kitchen. Bathrooms on 1st floor while rooms are on the 2nd floor.

Hostal Cielito de Maria has excellent staff and it's very clean! I love the building, the location, the real cotton sheets and the nice people I met there. Some of the beds are older and a bit worn in the spot where everyone likes to sit but they're still comfortable. After staying in some other places, it made me realize how special this place is. There is one major drawback, beyond the control of the hostel - the bar across the street is the loudest bar in the whole world but only on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the other days are fine. I thought I could hack it but I couldn't, not even with earplugs and a white noise machine because the decibel level is so extreme that it vibrates your body at a frenetic pace unsuitable for sleeping, even in your bed. The staff were so helpful, I had already paid and they let me change the dates to come back at the end of the weekend. The female dorm is more towards the back and has no windows but it made me sneeze so I opted for something closer to the front and the mixed dorm was more social anyways. One drawback of the dorms if you're a girl - there is only one toliet upstairs, it has no toliet seat and it gets dirty from the guys, making it worth the long staircase for the immaculate ladies room on the ground floor. The shower got decently hot but you have to crank it open and wait several minutes, at least that was my experience. For my last night, I moved from the dorm to a double on the ground floor with shared bathroom and it was way more relaxing and easy to sleep there, closer to the good bathrooms, too. I definitely recommend the downstairs double if it's in your budget. The restaurant next door is nice and affordable. My favorite place for my morning coffee was Cafe du Monde, they open early and have little terraces in the sunshine to warm you up. Zacatecas has been a highlight of my trip to México. Thank you Cielito de Maria!

Hostel, Location, Staff are all super amazing
Thursday to Saturday Night the music of the bar around the corner is so loud, it is impossible to sleep without earplugs.

This place is incredible! Great value and location. Cool old building. Jacob is a wealth of information. Super clean.
I was here on a Saturday night, and there was a celebration "across the street" that seemed to last all night. I'd recommend earplugs if you're in a front room.

Perfect location, spacious dorms and comfortable bed with lots of head room. Drinking water available too. Can't beat the price! Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
Kitchen was pretty basic and had limited utensils. There was only one light in the dorm - beds could use individual lamps so you can find you way in the dark without waking everybody up. Shared bathroom upstairs couldn't be locked.

5.0
The staff is excellent. The place is very clean, and it's cleaned every day.
The location is perfect.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and nice.
The WiFi is very good, if youŕe close to the front desk.
There is free water and free coffee in the kitchen.
The kitchen is very poorly equipped for cooking, even simple things.
If there is pouring rain, water comes inside in some rooms (it's a roof and patio problem...)

The hostal is close to tourist things. The building was beautiful. The rooms are big and nice. The balconies are beautiful. You get to see everything. The staff was amazing. Th place is clean. Everything you need is walking distance from the hostal.
No internet in the rooms.

Location- right in the center of the city
let me have my backpack in storage after checking out- Thank you staff.
There is coffee available
the lockers underneath the dorm beds don't work.
there was no drinking water available
no stove to cook, have to use microwave

Very good for the price, of course it could be more comfortable or more equipped, but thats a great deal for the price in dorm.
The location is perfect in the centro

Right in the town centre next to the cathedral, restaurants, museums and a ten minute walk to the mine. Because of covid there isn't much noise outside and the hostel is kept pretty clean. I like that they provide a key to lock your things and towels as some hostels don't do that. Great price, as well.
WiFi is bad and the dormitory door can't be closed from the outside so if someone walks out, the door remains wide open unless someone get's up and closes it from the inside, you then have to open the door for whoever comes back in.
