House was a great place to stay. We were there for a few nights. We did need a sound machine at night so the roof of the timber home didn’t startle us awake with the noises it makes when the outside temp changes. Not too big of a deal. Would have appreciated cups for the keurig considering the price per. Night is high.

Really enjoyed our short stay “in the mountains”! House was perfectly warm and welcoming. Well appointed and clean. We are thankful!

The house and location were just right! Enough room for everyone! Babies, toddlers and youngsters needs were met with the space and the ability to have their own space to have fun in. The adults also enjoyed the outside table, porch and hot tub! If you do have littles that can do stairs on their own this is a good spot, if littles need help with stairs, might think about taking a couple of stair gates to keep them in your sight! I am not a spick and span type of housekeeper, so wasn't appalled to see a sock, popcorn and dust under a table in the main area and under beds. Otherwise house was clean, and hopefully was well disinfected. The deck/porch was a great place to sit and relax. Fires were happening near by and Heidi communicated well for our safety and departure. This would definitely be a house and location we could stay at again and again and recommend it beyond 5 stars.

This property was perfect for our family. Myself, my husband, my son and his wife and their 5 children. We saw deer in the yard every day. Close to one entry for Rocky Mountain National Park.
I highly recommend.

Beautiful, clean, spacious home! We really enjoyed our stay. We were there for a family wedding at Wild Basin Lodge. Just the perfect location! Easy drive both to downtown Estes and the wedding venue. It was very comfortable and quiet with spectacular views. Thank you! We highly recommend.

Everything that we needed! Great location.

The house was exactly as described which was phenomenal. Great views and convenient location to Estes and RMNP.
There was a minor hiccup during our trip and the host was on top of it right away. Great confidence in her and would return for another trip.

We enjoyed staying it this home during our vacation in Estes. The house was very roomy and was perfect for our large group. The house was close to town but far enough to avoid traffic noise. There are great views from the large deck. I would definitely stay there again.

This was a great spot for a girls’ weekend!
Lots of room for comfy sleeping, common space for gathering, cooking, chatting.
The hot tub was a bonus, and the large front deck was so lovely!

We came in for a wedding, and had a great stay! Property is clean and quiet, and the hot tub makes for a relaxing stay.

Everything was great. The only small thing that should be addressed are, there are a couple receptacles in the front room that need to be replaced, they don’t keep a cord connected, it just falls out of the receptacle. There were a lot of dead flys and spiders that were all around the floors that I vacuumed up and the lower bathroom handle was broken, kinda had to flush it by opening the top of the commode. Overall, it was a beautiful and very accommodating residence. Thanks for the hospitality, the host was great and super friendly.

We enjoyed our stay. Quite neighborhood, steep driveway, well equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Owner was very efficient in taking care of a minor issue with the hot tub and we were able to use it for our stay.

The cabin was wonderful and well equipped. Although we knew there was no air conditioner, the fans worked ok but it was it was extremely hot outdoors so it didn't entirely work out. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay.

This is our 2nd time to stay in this cabin. Great location, views from every window and the best floor plan. Care and thought have obviously gone into interior. You get the real mountain cabin experience. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

The Mountain Home was a PERFECT home base for our biennial family trip to Estes Park! We felt very comfortable and "at home" from the moment we walked in.
Our group of 9 people (ranging in age from 5 months to 65 years) had plenty of room to spread out. Each family had their own space - including their own bathroom which was very nice. The great room was a perfect size for all of us to gather together each morning and evening. The kitchen was well stocked and we had plenty of room to eat our meals together. We appreciated the washer and dryer and we certainly gave them a workout throughout the week!
We enjoyed sitting on the deck, and our grandsons (ages 5 & 3) loved climbing on the rocks and exploring the property - and they also loved the hot tub! Having a garage available was an added bonus and made it easy to get things in and out of the house.
The home is in a fantastic location - very easy to get to everything that we wanted to do, but you felt like you were all alone in the mountains.
The owner had great communication with us and promptly answered our questions. We have stayed at many VRBO properties over the years and this was definitely at the top of the list! Thanks Heidi for sharing your great home with our family!!!

Thank you Heidi

We really enjoyed the property and the location was very convenient for our family. It was great to have all the family in one unit with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The owner was so nice to work with a glitch on my part before traveling.
We were unable to use the tv in the living room area as it would not hold a connection. Also I would suggest that instructions be put in the guest notes on how to use the overhead light and fan in the living room. A toilet downstairs was wobbly to sit on and the handle came off but we were able to put it back on, The vent cover in the dining area was broken into several wooden pieces before we arrived and could not be put back together. All of these were minor items and definitely would not deter us from staying here again.

Our group included 10 adults, ages 20-55. This home was perfect for our weekend getaway. Plenty of room, plenty of bathrooms, stunning views, and everything was just as stayed. Worth the price!

The house is perfect! We were close to numerous hiking trails at Rocky Mountain National Park. There is a cute little town of Estes Park with a fun downtown shopping area. Spent a day at the Stanley Hotel for a Shining tour. At the end of each day we had this wonderful house with an amazing hot tub just a few steps from the porch. House was clean, well stocked with a very log cabin and forestry decor. Perfect for our little Colorado adventure!

We loved our weekend stay. The property's rustic cabin ambience was just what we were looking for. It is in a residential neighborhood less than 10 minutes from town, but you feel like you're all alone out in the woods. Host was responsive when we needed help with the hot tub.

Such a nice place. Everyone had a great time and everything was very nice! For snow purposes I definitely would recommend a 4 Wheel drive vehicle and maybe ask them to plow if it has snowed recently. Everyone enjoyed their stay and it was a beautiful place.

Our adult family (6 members) enjoyed a relaxing weekend at Heidi's home in Estes. We were able to do a walk to a trailhead from the house, which is located in a neighborhood just south of Estes. The main floor is a great hang-out spot with large table for meals and games. However, the home is a bit older and some of the fixtures required repair - for instance, the sink didn't drain and the toilet handle was disconnected in one downstairs bathroom. The house could also benefit from one sharp knife for meal preparations. Nonetheless, the mountain house is a great gathering space with wonderful views.

Loved the property, had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again. The reviews that say you need 4wd or AWD are correct if there’s going to be snow. We didn’t have any issues and they did plow the driveway twice while we were there. But definitely recommend taking a vehicle with 4x4 or AWD just in case. They had the house stocked with plenty of accommodations, we didn’t have any issues. It was close to town. We loved it. Thank you! We will be back next time we come to Estes!

The Mountain House exceeded our expectations! The check-in/out process was detailed and accurate. The rooms are spacious and the beds were comfortable. The property was well-stocked, including all the kitchen appliances and cookware you can think of. Heidi was very communicative as well. We would book this place again in a heartbeat!

We enjoyed our stay in Estes at the Mountain Retreat. We were located close to the town of Estes and near the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance. The family enjoyed the hot tub, and the bedrooms were nice. There were a few minor issues, but we worked around them and still enjoyed our stay.
3.0
Overall our stay was nice and fit the needs of most of our crew. One thing to be aware of that is NOT in the listing is that the driveway is incredibly steep, not fully plowed in spots, and requires a 4 wheel drive vehicle. There is also not a plowed parking space at the bottom should you get stuck. If you don't have a 4-wheel drive vehicle and are planning to visit in the winter, you will not make it up the driveway. We had to tow my son's front wheel drive wheel chair van up the driveway through 2 icy, unplowed patches--that we had to shovel and chip away at later. Also, the walk way was not shoveled so we had to shovel once we got there. Word to the wise: if you are going in the winter, come prepared with shovels, ice melt, and a 4x4 vehicle. You will thank me later!

We loved the log cabin, well stocked kitchen, plenty of towels and blankets, comfortable beds and furniture. Our favorite restaurants were Bird and Jim’s and Claire’s. We loved hiking Gem Lake, Bear Lake area and Alpine point!

4 girlfriends stayed here, celebrating my 60th birthday. We enjoyed the property and the views were beautiful!
After an initial mix-up with the cleaning people (everything was taken care of very quickly), the rest of our time here was so fun and enjoyable! I really liked the property and Estes Park is so beautiful!! Cannot wait to come back!!

Our family was there for my nephew’s wedding in Lyons. The accommodations were great! Plenty of room for all of us, living area and bedrooms. The view was amazing! We would definitely rent again if we come back to Estes Park.

Everything was great you get an awesome view and a perfect spot for the hot tub … you do have neighbors though not too far away but slso not as close as in a traditional neighborhood… also bring ice because there is no ice maker and make sure your car can handle the STEEP STEEP driveway
