About this cabin rental
Reg# 3352.
AWD essential during winter and early spring!
The Stanley cabin property (land) was originally owned by the famous F. O. Stanley (who built the Stanley Hotel with his twin brother) and sits above town on 0.6 acres, enjoying views of the twin owls, lumpy ridge and Lake Estes from the main open plan living area and some of the bedrooms. Enjoy the best of both worlds with the ability to take a leisurely 15 or so minute walk into town, while still feeling secluded at the cabin. The location is perfect! You are so close to town, yet you can also bypass the downtown crowds to get to the RMNP.
Stanley cabin has two master suites, that each have direct access to one of three expansive decks. Each master suite has it's on 32" flat screened TV (with direct TV) and sitting area. The downstairs master also has it's own small gas stove to enjoy.
You will love catching up with friends and family in the open plan kitchen, dining, living area. The kitchen faces large windows that has a great view of the twin owls. There is additional seating at the kitchen peninsular to catch-up while cooking or baking. There is also an 8-seater table with additional stools at the kitchen peninsula and direct access from the kitchen / dining onto the deck through a sliding glass door where you can sit at the large picnic table and enjoy the beautiful scenery, or look out for deer, elk, bobcats, coyotes, rabbits, chipmunks and squirrels who all have been known to frequent the cabin. If you prefer to relax in front of a fire and watch TV, a large 50" screen TV sits above the fireplace to do just that.
When traveling on vacation you often need to pack lightly! There is a full sized stackable washer / dryer available on the main level for guests to use as needed.
Please note that there are 4 bedrooms that include 2 king size and 2 queen size beds. Two high-end sleeper cots are available to provide flexibility in sleeping arrangements for 2 additional people taking the total to 10 which is what the cabin is licensed to sleep. Also, the property has heating, but not air conditioning, similar to the majority of properties in Estes Park. Every room has either a ceiling or pedestal fan and most of the windows are screened.
During winter, a 4WD is recommended in general for commuting around Estes Park. A 4WD is necessary for our drive way, however if you are willing to park on the street, there is a front entrance with easy access.
We value our guests and are available to answer any questions or provide any assistance for the duration of our guests stay at Stanley Cabin.

The house fitted our needs. However there are many maintenance issues. All the decks look old and unkempt. The outside furniture is old and not very nice, definitely not welcoming.
We ran out of toilet paper after the first night, very inconvenient.
Two of the living room chairs are bumpy and we could not sit on them and needs to be replaced.
The bedrooms were fine.
All in all from the outside the house look neglected and I think it is outside of the current price bracket.

Great spot for family retreat!!! I love that there were toys & books for our kiddos, games, some DVDs, a big table, large functional kitchen, and lots of space around the cabin for kids to explore. Just minutes from downtown. It was such a sweet time for our families to gather & enjoy time together. However, we just happened to be there on the hottest week of the summer, and there is NO A/C. It was 88 during the day & felt even hotter inside. We had a couple little ones who needed to nap during the day which was nearly impossible, and the condo stayed in the 80s until 11:00 most nights, pretty stuffy and warm and hard to sleep. We did all the things to keep the house cool, and they did provide 1 box fan for each bedroom, but if you go in July during a hot week (which is know there’s not many!) just beware! Other than that, this place was amazing!!!!

Very nice place. Lots of room. Very clean. The deck could use a little maintenance. Overall very satisfied

Family stayed here while I stayed elsewhere for my wedding. The place on the surface was clean and the location was okay but pretty soon my family could hear mice at night after a long drive. They also saw 2 mice. No mice poop though. The place otherwise was clean. Parking is a bit of a mess-can’t really park more than 2 cars comfortably.

The house is fully stocked! Plenty of room for a large family, 2 beautiful decks to relax on, picnic tables were a great place to eat, have your morning coffee and play games with the kids. Great house! Scott was easy to communicate with!

Property was good sized with comfortable living area and kitchen. But some of the locks were not working. I wish there was AC available as it was very hot.
It will be nice to have a smart TV so that guests can have Netflix or Amazon prime available.
Website listed a hot tub which is not there.

Convenient location with decent space for a family gathering. We had a few minor inconveniences, but overall enjoyed our stay.

Great accommodations. We were in town for our sons wedding and had lots of family coming and going. Comfortable beds. Loved the 2 master suites and the kitchen had everything. We cooked and grilled a lot for several people. Plenty of plates, glasses, silverware for all. Scott was very quick to respond to all questions. We loved our stay and highly recommend.

We had never stayed in this area before. It turned out to be great location. It helped to miss traffic in town to go to RMNP. The location was also great for wildlife. One afternoon 4 babies and 6 females laid around and ate in the yard. It was wonderful to watch. Will recommend and will stay there again. There was seven of us and everyone got there own bedroom. We were also able to enjoy movies and meals together in the open area. Thank you for the wonderful memories we have here.

After a lengthy time in Denver a couple years ago due to trauma hospital stay (family member) , my family decided it was time to take a much needed rest , relaxation and much need time away from everything! First time ever making memories with my children and grandchildren! This cabin was the perfect setting, everything we could need was there , home away from home ! Hoping to do it again and now we know what to expect ! First but not last time doing anything like this!!

Very happy with this property! I brought many things i did not need because the property was very well stocked! My grandson loved all the toys! There was plenty of room for our group of 9. I only have 2 negative comments: 1. no AC was an issue. It was pretty warm inside for half the trip. 2. The bed in basement is very uncomfortable! Of course, this is the room my husband and I picked. It was cooler down there but sleep was not good! Everyone else said their beds were great! It was a great family vacation and the location of the property was perfect!

We celebrated our 40th anniversary with a three generation trip to Estes Park. Our group of ten included our children, their spouses and our 4 grandchildren ages 3-8. The Stanley cabin was just perfect. The large open kitchen, dining and living room allowed for comfortable meals and game time. The separate bedroom areas and front and back decks provided space to spread out. We were able to walk to the visitors center and catch the trolley or a bus route. We greatly enjoyed the wildlife in the neighborhood tops.

There is not one thing our family did not love about this property. The kitchen, bathrooms, linens were all very well stocked. Beds were all comfortable and we appreciated the extra blankets for our winter stay.
It truly was like being at home for us. The entire experience was flawless, simple, and with open communication. Our family was sable to enjoy time together as well as spread out in comfort. Absolutely recommend this property. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. There was plenty of room for all of us (6 adults, 4 kids). Having 3 bathrooms was a definite plus, we all had our private rooms to go to when needed. The family room/kitchen area was cozy and we spent hours there playing games, watching Christmas movies, football, sharing our meals and reconnecting. We've stayed at many places where different things were broke that they advertised as working in the ad; it was nice to stay at a home where everything worked - TVs, dishwashers, lights, fireplaces! Thanks!!

My 2 daughters, and their husbands joined me for a week in Estes Park. The cabin we stayed in was very special. Located near to town, with beautiful views from every window. We saw many Elk from the front deck, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin itself was very nicely furnished, completely equipped with everything we needed. Sitting in the living area, with the fireplace going, while my son-in-laws barbecued on the deck, was heaven on earth.

Excellent location in a quiet neighborhood very close to the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance. There was a grocery store five minutes away, which was perfect for our family. Elk come through the yard at dusk.
Although it is older, the house was spacious and clean. Everything we needed was provided and we enjoyed the DVD selection and board games with our kids. Our one complaint would be that several exterior doors have broken locks, which was a safety concern for us. Also, the WIFI ran out of data halfway through our stay and was throttling our devices.
Overall would definitely stay here again.

Our multi generational group loved the cabin. Plenty of room for the 10 of us with bedrooms spread on two floors and a large dining table. The furniture was comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. the grill and the outside porches added to our comfort. We hosted 10 additional family members for a dinner and the children had a great time running around outside. Communication with the host was excellent.

This cabin was a gem with beautiful views, and it was very clean. The hummingbirds and wildlife were exciting to see too. The cabin is in a quiet location yet still close to Estes Park, hiking trails, and much more. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

It ended up just being the two of us staying at the cabin but it's definitely a great place for families! It was the perfect location for exploring both Estes Park and RMNP. Spacious, clean and comfortable with lots of elk and hummingbirds making an appearance!
