About this house rental
A lovingly restored classic Mid-century Modern Waterfront home. The nearly 270 degree westside view spans Mt. Rainier, downtown Seattle, the Olympics, Port Townsend, and the San Juan islands. Sitting on nearly an acre with privacy so difficult to find, this home features a circular driveway, full length deck, master suite with its own private deck, a chef's kitchen with high end appliances, and close proximity to all that Whidbey Island has to offer.
Our place feels like it's a world away, yet it's only a short 90 minute jaunt from Seattle. Located in the Olympic rain shadow, our winter days are warmer / dryer and summer days are cooler than Seattle.
The house has been a labor of love for our family as we have been carefully restoring / preserving it to its original 1960s mid-century modern vintage complete with modern finishes / creature comforts - all with a focus on reuse and sustainability.
Take in the views from the full size deck that extends the length of the house and is equipped with HAY Palissade deck chairs, a Solo Stove fire pit, a Sonos Move, alfresco dining setup, and a Pawleys Island cotton rope hammock - all capped by a spectacular PNW native Madrona tree.
The great room is replete with carefully curated mid century modern touches, a fully stocked chef's kitchen with high end appliances, a Nespresso machine, board games, a deep sectional couch, an Apple TV, a Sonos audio setup, amazon Alexas, and smart lighting controlled via the provided iPad.
The spa-like master bedroom ensuite has a medium firm foam mattress king size bed, Pendleton throws, a wall of closets, soft linen sheets, and opens to its own private deck. The Master Bedroom now has a brand new, METICULOUSLY REMODELED bathroom with a vanity, and DUAL SHOWERS. Be one of the first to experience it!
Be one of the first to experience the RECENTLY REMODELED second bathroom. Deep water tub, dual floating vanity, Hansgrohe fixtures all interspersed with subway and hex tile.
The second bathroom has a deep water tub, dual floating vanity, Hansgrohe fixtures all interspersed with subway and hex tile.
The green spaces on three sides of the property are perfect for bocce ball, frisbee, kicking a soccer ball around, badminton, or for using the outdoor ping pong table. Need a bigger playground - walk down the street to take steps to the beach.

We had a wonderful week with our family in this beautifully decorated home. The sunset views are spectacular, and different each day. The kitchen is well-equipped, the Sonos Move is great, and the beds are comfortable. There was a cute and thoughtful welcome gift when we arrived. The host was very kind and responsive. We can't wait to stay here again.

This house has a beautiful water view. It was one of the best equipped houses we have stayed in. We had a delightful time on Whitney. The cliff hike was memorable.

My husband and I really loved this place. It is perched at the top of a hill with an incredible view of the Sound. The neighborhood is quiet, and the beach, accessible at the end of the street, was perfect for daily walks.
The house itself is lovely, with a large deck and everything we needed. The kitchen had all the necessary supplies for our stay and the bathrooms - both newly renovated - were gorgeous. The bedrooms are comfortable as well.
We brought our dog with us, and he enjoyed chasing a ball in the yard and walks on the beach.
Thank you for a great stay!

House worked very well, but a little rough around the edges. Also, for the price it seem like we shouldn’t have to do any preparation upon leaving. The equipment didn’t work such as the Floor heater in the master bathroom.

Great location that is well designed and appointed. Thoughtful touches throughout to make the stay cozy and practical for a family.

This Whidbey Island home is an impeccable location for a family vacation. Amazing access to a private beach on the Admiralty Inlet with clear views of the Olympic mountains. The home is well equipped for eating in, enjoying a movie night, playing board games, and just soaking in the views. We appreciated the EV charging capability and the yard space for our dog while visiting. The location is well positioned to visit Langley, the Meerkerk gardens, wineries and Coupeville! We had great communication from the hosts and home was better than advertised. We will be returning soon!

We thought the house and hosts were great. A very bad storm prevented us from fully enjoying our stay. When the power went out we had to leave a day earlier than planned. A fair review is impossible given the unlucky circumstances.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. The views were magnificent, and the house met all of our expectations.

Fabulous view, and great location near Langley and South Whidbey Park (good birding). One large master room with walk-in shower; two small bedrooms that share a bath. Very well-stocked kitchen. No stairs.
Three of us in our late 70s stayed here. We had some trouble with the depth and softness of couches and the multiple remotes that control heat, light, and t.v. We wished the fireplace wasn't off bounds on our chilly, rainy stay.
The owners are very receptive, and quick to respond and accept suggestions.

The owner was very responsive to few questions we had and was helpful. The house is situated in a quiet neighbor hood with spectacular views of the Sound and the Olympics with a wonderful deck to sit and watch the ships go by and the lovely sunsets. The bathrooms and kitchen are updated with beautiful finishes. The master bedroom is large and the other bedrooms had plenty of room. The house is in a convenient location to beaches, to public gardens, grocery stores and Langley. It was easy to get on the highway and spend a day in Deception Pass. This is our first stay in this property but our third stay on Whidbey Island.

Excellent stay. Access to beach was easy. Spent most of our time on the deck enjoying the epic views, cruise ships cruising by and amazing sunsets. Great place for a mid year relaxation and re-charge. Would definitely book again.

A beautiful home on the water with a priceless view. The home was very comfortable and the neighborhood kid friendly. The nearby beach provided my 11& 9 year old grandsons with a marine science education! Hope to come back with more family members next time!

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely home... after a day of exploring and hiking on the island, we would look forward to relaxing on the deck, watching the sunsets and enjoying our dinner on the water. Beautiful, clean, modern home in quiet neighborhood. Central location to everything. Owners very responsive. Highly recommend! We will be back!

This home is so well appointed, comfortable, convenient and just plain gorgeous. We were so bummed that we were only able to stay there for two days this time. But we enjoyed every second that we spent sitting on the deck watching the water and the eagles who visited the backyard. The owners were so lovely and were easy to reach with any questions. The bed was comfortable and the newly-remodeled master shower is awesome! If I had to make any suggestion at all, it would be to please install screens on the master bedroom window and slider so that we could leave those open and enjoy the beautiful ocean air. Thank you so much for a great getaway - we can't wait to come back to Whidbey & Chill!

We needed an accessible, pet friendly place for our friend group to gather for some much-needed r&r. This was the perfect place, and the hosts clearly enjoy welcoming people to their beautiful property. Worth every penny!

Stayed here with two friends and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this property. Lovely home, great hosts, and the view is unbelievable. We spent a lot of time on the deck, sipping coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening. Highly recommend this property for a getaway!

The home has amazing views of the water, the mountains and receives daily visits from a group of bald eagles. It is in a good location to take advantage of the many hikes and beach walks the island offers. Overall a very positive and enjoyable stay. No issues or concerns to report and the hosts were available and responsive to our questions.

This home is situated in a nice and quiet neighborhood. Whidbey Island is small enough that everything (i.e. tourist destinations, grocery stores, coffee shops, and good restaurants) was a quick drive from the house. The house was very clean; the views from the kitchen windows, living room, and deck were out of this world. The solo stove on the deck allowed us to hang out there even when it was a little chilly. Hosts were kind and very responsive to text messages. We really appreciate their thoughtful renovations to this gem of a house. The only thing that didn't hit a "10" was that the bed was extra firm (in our opinion) but that would not stop us from coming back here. Truly beautiful.

A gem of a spot. Gorgeous view, modern yet cozy house, quiet, clean and just perfect for our long weekend getaway. Had a few quick questions and hosts were quick to respond and helpful. Small gift on arrival and the morning lattes with the N'espresso machine were the added cherries on top. Hope to be back!

Came for a wedding in Freeland and had the best time. Really quiet neighborhood and beautiful views. House is very user friendly for a VRBO guest. Communication with host was excellent.

My family and I loved this house! It had such a cute mid-century modern, beachy decor and was very clean and welcoming. We utilized the very convenient beach access down the road. All the neighbors that we stopped and talked with were very friendly. The house had all the amenities you could ask for. The only thing that you should be aware is that the master bedroom has an attached bathroom this is fairly open to the sleeping area, which would be ok for a couple but me and my mom shared that room so we had to coordinate showers and bathroom time. Our absolute favorite part about the house was watching the cruise ships and barges go by. We honestly didn’t want to leave!! We would definitely stay here again :)

Great property in a great location. Property was well maintained and had everything necessary (except maybe a regular coffee machine). Kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty to do there with nice A/V equipment and puzzles and games provided. The water view was excellent - worth the drive to get out of downtown Seattle for a couple of days. Very relaxing and will come back if vacationing in the area again.

Incomparable View
We are return guests and hope to be forever. In addition to the excellent location and stunning views, the place is stylish, unique, clean, and comfortable. And the knives are actually sharp (uncommon in most vacation rentals)—just another feature to love!

We enjoyed our stay at this house in a super quiet neighborhood and with gorgeous views.

Beautiful and peaceful getaway
The views are stunning, house is well appointed with everything you need to cook. The house has nice real furniture (not just cheap stuff since it’s a rental), beach access in neighborhood (in summer months, in winter you can see the ocean but not get to water), and was very well laid out and comfortable. There were deers and rabbits in the neighborhood. We brought our dog and while it’s not fully fenced yard they have a very long leash you can use if needed. We saw eagles from the deck!!! We loved our time here!
Check in instructions were clear, great house manual to learn how to find/use something in the house. They thought of everything, felt very taken care of and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Amazing views and well appointed home
The home is exactly as pictured. The hosts have done a great job stocking the kitchen with everything you may need and the view can’t be beat. The place is easy to find and convenient to services and the off leash dog parks. Great TV options, easy smart lock and comfortable beds. We only wish the fireplace wasn’t decommissioned as that would have helped us warm up the great room faster and made the place cozier.

Winter on Whidbey
We enjoyed our stay during a winter blast of cold air and snow. This provided us lots of fun walks in the snow at Ebeys Landing, Greenbank Farm and Deception State Park. The house was comfortable, well equipped and the views of snow capped Olympic Mountains were stunning.

Lovely visit
We had a wonderful time - the property is just as described, and even better, the hosts are VERY helpful and responsive. Loved the attention to mid-century style in the renovations. And the water view is just perfection.

Stunning View and Stylish Decor
The views from this house are unrivaled—and we could even enjoy them while washing the dishes! We loved the smart features and the mid-century styling. The home was thoughtfully, tastefully, and thoroughly appointed with all that we needed, and the owners are responsive and warm. We hope to come back soon!

Wonderful place, great location, spectacular view!
My wife, sons, and dog spent four nights at this fabulous home. Well stocked (spices, Nespresso machine with capsules, etc), three comfortable bedrooms, big comfy living area open to dining and kitchen. The deck is huge and has panoramic views across Mutiny Bay to the Olympic mountains. In the mornings we saw bald eagles, ospreys, and great blue herons at eye level as they flew close by. Deer wandered onto the property a couple of times. Sunsets were spectacular. The beach is a short, few minutes down the road and down stairs, and we had it virtually to ourselves.
The house has some things to entertain like a bocce ball set, cornhole, and a ping pong table. And Apple TV!
The hosts were super responsive to questions and provided good recommendations for places to eat and things to do. They were awesome.
The house is 8 minutes from Freeland and 18 minutes from Langley. Ebey Landing was 24 minutes north. So plenty to do within an easy drive.
Highly recommend- we will be back!!
