This was such an excellent experience. We were on Whidbey for my brother's wedding and we couldn't have found a better place! Great views, plenty of space upstairs and down, fully stocked, comfortable beds and furniture, and a really great host! My elderly parents, one who uses a walker, stayed on the main (top) floor, which was perfect and accommodating for their mobility needs. The downstairs had great toys for my 5 yr old nephew to play with and a comfy couch & big TV for movie watching. Also, the propane fire pit table on the top deck is a great touch. It's aesthetically pleasing and kept us cozy as the sun went down.
We will be back for sure! Thank you Darrell!

Our family and friends stayed in this beautiful home for our daughter’s wedding on Whidbey Island. The house itself is impeccably stocked and furnished, the location is easy to get to and the host could not have been more accommodating. We are already thinking about a longer stay for next summer! Thank you, Darrell, for the most perfect Whidbey experience!

We loved the location. The house set up was great for our family as far as bedrooms and bathrooms. We had plenty of li n ens and cook ware. We were short on foil, coffee, paper towels and zip lock bags. The amenities included a hot tub which was not working, a bbq which was not working and a fire table which was not working.

My husband, adult daughter and 18 month old grandson and I stayed in this house for one week. During our stay we had a series of local family from Olympia and Seattle visit. We appreciated the set up with two bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs and two bedrooms and one bathroom downstairs. It gave everyone space and privacy. Also well used were the baby gates, travel crib (there are two), toys and games (foosball and paddles & balls for pickleball). The refrigerator had salad dressings and condiments and the pantry was well stocked with staples like flour, sugar, and baking soda. It was nice to be able to do laundry after active days hiking, beach combing or kayaking.
The neighborhood was quiet and secluded yet close to grocery stores like Bailey’s for staples and delicious hot foods and The Goose for complete grocery shopping. We easily explored Possession Beach State Park, Double Bluffs beach, Langley, Coupeville and Deception Point State Park. We enjoyed seeing all the bunnies and deer in the neighborhood.
Lastly, the views from the main bedroom and upstairs living area were amazing!

This was probably the fourth time we have stayed at this home and love it! There is so much space for people to spread out and do whatever they want and then gather back at the dinner table for good food and conversation. The views are stunning and we’ll definitely be back.

This was our first time visiting Whidbey Island and I don't think we could have chosen a better place to stay. It was a beautiful home and location. It was very easy to get to from the ferry and the view was amazing! The home had everything we needed, the listing was spot on, and the small touches of Christmas made us feel right at home! We will definitely be staying here again.

This is one of the absolute best VRBO properties I've stayed in! It's a beautiful house in a wonderful location and the house is great for families with kids as there is a foosball table + tons of toys and games as well as a hot tub. And the host couldn't be nicer. Can't recommend enough!

Exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything we needed and some extras like toiletry items that may have been forgotten etc. Beds were super comfortable and nice linens which I always appreciate. This is a perfect set up for a family getaway - teens enjoyed staying on the first level and playing foosball and the adults enjoyed the upstairs balconies and well-stocked kitchen. Very convenient to the Clinton ferry and pretty beaches/Useless Bay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time.

Absolute perfection in all ways!
LOCATION: Stellar. I could have lived on the deck. Despite some rainy weather, we drank in the Olympic mountains as they poked their snowy peaks through the clouds, watched the local bald eagle, countless herons perching in the trees around us, even a deer meandering through the yards. (The host thoughtfully had two pairs of binoculars available.) And if you didn't like the light rain, you could see it all from the covered lower deck.
HOUSE: The perfect combination of luxurious and comfortable. Light and airy, with amazing beds and bedding. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need, including my introduction to an induction cooktop - wow!
ACTIVITIES: We were a three-generation group, including a 5- and 7-year-old. (We were VERY grateful for the hose in the front courtyard to spray them off after visiting the tide pools.) The Jacuzzi and sauna got a workout after hiking in the rain, as did the foosball table and mountains of games. We were having such a fun time, the huge TVs were never turned on (imagine that), and the kayaks - a big part of why we chose this property - were sadly never taken out. We never took advantage of the community beach, because we spent all of one day exploring tide pools from Deception Pass to Double Bluff beach with our recent grad and personal naturalist.
THE HOST: Darrell was delightful, easygoing, and couldn't have been more accommodating.
NEGATIVES: Just one. We couldn't stay longer. We'll be back!

Absolutely wonderful!
This house and location were amazing! Very clean and beautiful house in a quiet seaside location. We loved sitting on the upper balcony watching the wildlife, Olympic Mountain Views, and boats/ships passing by and enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. My son loved that there was a basketball court too. We enjoyed beachcombing at low tide. Truly a peaceful place. Highly recommended.

We had a great time at the house. Lovely views. Very comfortable beds and linens. Plenty of cookware and little condiments in the kitchen. great family home
The layout works well for all ages. The baby gate and small tent with toys in the playroom would give families with young children a relaxing stay. Teenagers enjoyed the hot tub, dart board and foosball. And except for the two stairs leading into the house, it was easily accessible for our family member with mobility issues. I would highly recommend this place.

Lovely House and Views
My family stayed at this house over Christmas and it was wonderful! The views were beautiful, my toddler especially loved the Christmas lights on the boats on the canal below. The house is very well stocked with fun activities for families and has beautiful views of the water and if the weather permits, the Olympic mountains. My daughter is already asking when can we go back to "The Christmas House".
(Just as an FYI, the bunk room is definitely designed for kids, unless you're a small adult who is fine with small spaces or is agile enough for a top bunk plan on that being a kid only room. My daughter LOVED IT!)

Rain and gale forced winds didn’t stop the fun
First time after two years to have three generations under one roof. Lots to do on the island and when the storms kept us inside, the house had plenty to keep us entertained. Loved the views and slept great. Grandkids didn’t want to leave!

The perfect venue in any type of weather
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. Loved watching the ever-changing inlet as tides came in and out. The house is thoughtfully set up with all the kitchen and other 'gear' one might need. We enjoyed relaxing in the indoor spa and sauna after a hike in the rain. And for sunnier days, there are outdoor amenities to appreciate as well. The host, Darrell, was so helpful and quick to respond to setting up the reservation as well as answering a few questions that we had. We thoroughly enjoyed our Whidbey Island get-away!

Beautiful and relaxing
My large family stayed here to have an alternate Halloween celebration. On our second night, my oldest daughter and my sister joined us. A total 8 people and we each had our own place to sleep.
Even in the autumn we had a wonderful time. A peaceful and tranquil ride on the kayaks, enjoying the fire. The views are amazing.
The owner was communicative and friendly and gives useful information for out of town visitors.
My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.

Exactly as listed if not better
My family just got home from a 3 night stay at this lovely home. The property was just as listed if not better. The views are beautiful and it was super fun and relaxing to have a hot tub and sauna in the house!! Access to the beach for shell collecting and a cute park for the kids. The property was sparkling clean and the small touches really made it special. Lots of toys and games for the kids, staples in the pantry, nice linens and good shampoo!! We will definitely be staying here again.

Wonderful retreat
We spent a lovely 5 nights at this beautiful home on Whidbey Island. It was in a quiet community on the south of the island. We enjoyed watching the tides in the sound and the sunset. Home was lovely, kitchen was very well equipped and we enjoyed eating on the deck. The host was very responsive to questions. Many lovely hikes nearby. Would definitely consider this home if we return to Whidbey Island!
