Excellent location and comfortable well equipped house.
Communication prior to our stay was difficult, we needed to change the number on our booking but couldn't get any response. Also mixed instructions about pets, details on booking.com says they are allowed but other pages say not and rules left in the house say not - needs clarifying.

Good location you have to admit.
Outside 15 degree and you open the door and freezing damp cold hit you like a shovel.
The owner only switched on the heating for the last night after we complained to booking.com as she ignored the communication up to that point.
Oh yeah and we had to block her after her passive aggressive texts calling us in effect a liar claiming she can see remotely that it's 21 degree.
We could have ignored the mold in the bathroom, broken blinds, gutter or you had 30 cm between the bed and wall etc, but enough is enough.

The location was good. The beds were comfy. It was clean.
The property was very cold when my 80+ mother arrived after a long journey, the heating was off, there were no clear instructions how to turn it on and there were no logs for the fire. The owner responded quickly and came to sort out the heating and provided logs.

comfortable and (particularly bedrooms) and we enjoyed the wood burner.
insufficient hot water
heating on at apparently random times. eg 2am in the morning. why?
odd things missing. eg no teapot, very few and random (3) wineglasses
poor communication. lots of quite useful information provided but no confirmation of our notes back and despite requests no wood provided. not good enough

Excellent location for exploring and hiking in this area of the Peak District.
Cosy comfortable cottage with enough space for 3 couples. Dining room table expands nicely with extra bench for 6 people to fit round it.
Although located near the main road through Hope which can get busy/noisy, it is peaceful at night time. But I would advise shutting windows at night because the church clock chiming can be loud during the night.
Good facilities nearby for food shopping, cafés, pubs and also in Castleton which is a 30 minute walk away along nice footpath through the fields.
Key collection and drop off easy.
Parking was easy on the street outside.
No complaints but
reported a couple of minor issues to the hosts e.g. leaking tap, which hopefully they will resolve.
5.0 / 10.0
The property was overpriced overall. It was extremely cold the afternoon / evening we arrived. It was warmer from then on but the heating seemed to be on mainly in the night and upstairs. The door to the street lets a lot of cold air in and has no provision for entering with muddy boots!
Also, there was very little in the way of helpful essentials, especially kitchen/cooking items such as kitchen roll, oil, salt & pepper etc. Most places have such things as it is extremely inconvenient.

Great location! Perfect for exploring the peaks, comfortable place to stay. Helen was very responsive with queries!
Terrace and garden furniture was very muddy - could’ve done with a clean and sweep. Kitchen would be better equipped. But otherwise very lovely place and would definitely return

Excellent location. Spacious cottage, bigger than it looks in the photos. Spotlessly clean.
Easy to collect keys.
TV channels tricky to access.
Lack of heating control.
Fridge full of ice, needs defrosting.

Very central location in Hope, lovely town with great cafes and walks on your doorstep. Spotlessly clean. Really comfy beds, great shower.
Kitchen quite sparsely stocked, poor response from host when sent messages, road noise quite loud.
No BBQ, no firewood for the fire.
A few things like coffee, tea, shower gel etc are a big help when staying just for a few days and can’t pack a lot of things

Great location, lovely cottage with good facilities. I would stay here again.
It would have been nice to have more than 4 dining chairs. We are a family of 6 so couldn't all sit around the table together and it was a big snug on the sofa. However, we had a great stay and these are suggestions that would make the cottage just perfect for larger families!

Very cosy cottage and much better than expected (in this lockdown period)
We stayed two weeks for works purpose at Breedon Cement Plant and have found everything we needed in the cottage and around.
Nothing

Spacious rooms, great place to stay with friends, wonderful location with nice view outside. Small garden area with sofas and a pub next door. Shop 1 minute walk and some restaurants nearby. Clean and good amenities.
The heating didn't work and the host stopped replying to me when I raised it, and they never have any help on how to fix it or sent anyone around so we were quite cold. I thought communication was a bit poor. Checking in I had to call the host for instructions to check-in as no details provided. The sound of bells as others have mentioned was slightly annoying, and in the bedrooms the door is glass panelled which means if the hallway or bathroom light is on then the bedrooms light up. Doors should be changed as between this light coming in and the church bells it was quite difficult to sleep.
