Superb building, great , friendly staff. Very well appointed. Great Spa and swimming pool.

Lovely spa. Really nice hotel and good room. Checkin was a problem as everyone came at 3 pm so there was a long queue. Staggering times would work much better. Cleanliness issue in rooftop disabled toilets. Chrome work in bad need of attention

We had an enjoyable stay at the Buxton Crescent Spa Hotel, but a few simple things took away slightly from the luxurious stay we
Service: The staff were excellent—attentive and professional throughout our visit. However, we emailed the hotel with some queries when we made the booking, but our message was overlooked and never replied to. When we mentioned it at check-in, the front desk had no recollection of our email, which was slightly frustrating and not what we expected from a high-end establishment.
Facilities: The spa facilities were impressive and contributed to a relaxing stay. That said, there’s room for improvement. Cleanliness could be better—there was a noticeable smell in some areas, reminiscent of body odour and feet, which detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, the availability of deck chairs and seating was limited, which made it difficult to find a spot during busy periods.
Room: We opted for an executive room, but it didn’t feel like much of an upgrade. The linens, towels, and bathrobes all had an odd smell, and the reusable slippers didn’t appear clean. Another significant drawback was the limited hot water supply—during peak times, the shower and bath were only lukewarm, which was disappointing for a hotel of this standard.
Despite these issues, the hotel’s charm and unique setting made our stay enjoyable. With better attention to detail and a focus on guest communication, this could be a truly

Another great stay at the Ensana in Buxton. Always get the best night sleep here as the beds are so comfortable. The Spa is a great touch for guests staying over night.
I’d highly recommend visiting the Greek Restaurant “Ithaca” that is a stones throw away from the hotel the food is amazing.

Amazing stay, friendly staff, loved swimming outside with snow on the hills. Spa beautifully set out . Room was excellent

The hotel is fabulous. The Spa was amazing as was the room. Breakfast was a bit of a shambles. The service was slow, which made the food cold, I would have complained, but we didn't have time to wait.

We had a restful and indulgent stay at the Ensana Buxton Crescent. The spa was lovely, the staff couldn't do enough to help, and the room was very grand. My only (slight) criticism was the poached eggs at breakfast had obviously been under lights as they were overdone and the yolks hard. It was a shame as everything else had been absolutely perfect.

Fabulous. Lovely hotel, beautiful building, excellent service, friendly and helpful staff. Good food and great accommodation. Loved the spa, but don’t go as soon as it opens in the morning, wait until the sauna/steam rooms heat up. Pool area is wonderful

An excellent repeat stay for us -- the pool facilities are superb, rooms have good air conditioning and breakfast is good (although patience may be required to have the order delivered correctly). Buxton itself is very nice, too. Convenient paid parking (4 hour) nearby.

This is a very comfortable hotel with excellent spa facilities. Staff were friendly and efficient. Within walking distance of station, shops and restaurants.

Nice hotel,Spa is nice hot minersl waters, however staff not so wonderful. They were polite but not really accommodating. £30 to extend checkout for an hour, then funny about use of the Spa considering we had spent £40 each to extend and they weren't busy. Overall nice but staff could be better.

Lovely hotel, we’ve stayed a few times. The spa is great & the breakfast is amazing.
This time there seemed to be less staff around so breakfast was super busy & a bit slower.

It was a great experience up until breakfast which was a complete disaster. I had been warned and it became true. Shame when you are paying £400 plus for accommodation and room. Beware.

Poor hotel - certainly not four star. No hot water if you happen to want to shower ‘when everyone else is getting ready’. Spa area is lovely but screeching women make it feel like a hen party. Staff uninterested. Food average. No feeling of anything special . Poor

Beautiful hotel in lovely setting. Tasty breakfast and really comfy bed with quality bedding. Somewhat surprised at the £30 per night valet parking. We had little choice but to pay as public parking was quite some distance away. The rooftop pool was fantastic, like getting into a super warm bath.

Cavendo tutus is the motto of the Cavendish family who built the crescent where the Ensana hotel is located
Careful progress indeed as the warm welcome upon arrival with well decorated rooms and excellent food topped off with a rooftop heated pool both indoors and outdoor swimming encouraged
Delighted to have stayed so close to the Opera House and in such a stylish hotel
Where else can you have kipper after having kipped so comfortably
Great base for exploring the treasures of Buxton and the Peak District
The positive impact of the Cavendish family can be seen all around and this hotel is a part of the Peak treasure house

Hotel was lovely and we had a very nice stay. A couple of things which could improve signage in the hotel a bit better in places. Breakfast staff need to clear used crockery away rather than have tables cluttered up. I think for a 5* there should have been someone controlling things in the restaurant. The food was very nice.

Information on use of facilities would be helpful. We heard the same questions being asked of Spa staff repeatedly. Finding the room was tricky with limited signage or guidance from reception staff on arrival. We were on the third floor. Lifts do not go to that floor so finding the equivalent number on floor two and going up the stairs as an instruction would have helped. Great hotel and we enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic hotel with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Beautifully renovated, clean and friendly staff.
Perfect location for the Opera House and Pavillion - avoiding the uphill hike required to reach other hotels!
The nearby on-street parking has restrictions, so i would recommend booking the hotel's Valet Parking service.

Beautiful hotel my only gripe is the parking. valet but the price is exorbitant when a few roads away there is plenty of free parking. Also no ramp to get your luggage into the hotel no wheelchair access on show . I was given a room halfway up a set of stairs not suitable for people with limited mobility.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely part of Buxton. Very central, with everything within easy reach, including shops, theatre, restaurants, railways station and park.

Only stayed one night but mazing Hotel and spar. Great location. Valet car parking is worth the £30 extra. Not a great deal to do in Buxton after you’ve had a walk around but there are a few nice restaurants and bars to the right hand side and rear of the hotel. Just also like to mention I came out of hospital the day before our stay from having a serious infection. I tried to move our date but was told by Hotels.com it would cost me an extra £320 on top of what I’d already paid. I didn’t want to cancel just to move the date for one night.

We booked a night on a bit of a whim and were a bit concerned by some of the points in reviews but didn’t find any of it accurate for us during our stay.
Beautiful historic property in walking distance of anything else you may want or need. Efficient friendly staff. Beautiful room. Comfy bed. Immaculately clean. Really lovely, relaxing spa.

Our second stay -- consistently excellent. The hot spring water pools are very nice and the rooms are nicely air conditioned. Breakfast is very good and there are various paid parking options nearby.

Beautiful old property well adapted. Not enough information on whereabouts of facilities given in the room. TV info about facilities inadequate. One had to ask a member of staff.

The Ensana Crescent hotel is a real cultural icon where you can stay , take the waters ( we’ll swim in the restored Victorian baths, have a lovely massage and dine well! Thoroughly recommend it!

The spa is really amazing, the pools are so warm & relaxing

I would definitely consider staying at The Crescent Hotel in future, since I only spent one night this time. I also highly recommend the spa treatment menu. I had a facial treatment during my stay and my skin was rejuvenated after a very long and dehydrating journey from Canada (probably around 20hrs total). I was also given a complimentary room upgrade, which I was very happy about, and breakfast/room service was wonderful.
