Perhaps the most gracious, hospitable host ever. So welcoming and pet friendly. Quick to respond. Cottage clean, very well equipped, didn't need to buy anything but groceries. Would definitely return.

Very simple process to check in and out. Dog Friendly with acres of open space for our border collie to run and play. Beautiful setting with unbelievable amounts of fish jumping at dusk and early morning. AC had the place at a steady 68 degrees the entire time with heat indexes above 100 degrees. We thrive on privacy, solitude, and dog friendliness. This rental hit every mark. Thank you Sam! Had a great time….

Nice property. We were looking for a calm place to hang out on the water, and this place was perfect. Lots of space to walk the dog, and the little pond with a fountain and cabana area was a bonus. Communication with the host was not great, but apparently he was having cell phone problems. I would definitely recommend this rental. Bring strong mosquito repellant!

Great property. We really enjoyed our stay. Glad we arrived the first time in daylight hours but loved being a little off the beaten track. We hope to return soon.

Excellent appliances in kitchen, laundry. Hot water setting is not safe for children or comfortable for adults. Excellent mosquito maintenance which is important near water. Waterfront property doesn’t allow for swimming or boat access, but offers nice views at sunset. Cottage furniture is adequate. Property could use some maintenance. All said, the property met our needs at a reasonable price.

If you are looking for a quiet and slightly remote location to relax and enjoy nature, this is the place for you.

We really enjoyed our stay! It was the perfect get-a-way we were looking for. Quiet, picturesque, many things to do/explore/eat close by. We would love to come back again!

Cozy, comfortable cottage on the water. Very relaxing, and quiet. Close to Willaimsburg/Yorktown/Glouchester with all the historic attractions. House has a gas log fireplace and one rainy evening enjoyed sitting by the fire and watching tv and reading.

Great location for visiting the area, close to beach, hosts were friendly and welcoming

We loved staying at the cottage and couldn't have been happier with the owners and their respect for our privacy. We had 3 dogs with us and this home was fantastic to allow the dogs to go on walks and us to fish, canoe, and enjoy the outdoors.

Nice stay. Could use new carpet in bedrooms and paint in all rooms. Other than it was nice

It was a beautiful bucolic hideaway from hustle and bustle of the big city. Would come back in future.

We had a great 3 night stay at this cottage. Check in was smooth, and everything was as expected. The owners are sweet and helpful. My family hopes to return in a few months. We really enjoyed not only the cottage but the grounds as well. Beautiful property.

We had our daughter's wedding by the pond on the property. I was the perfect spot! Sam and Mark were wonderful, extremely helpful and accommodating. This was our best family vacation ever. Thank you so much Sam & Mark!

The check-in process was super easy and the house was very comfortable. The host was extremely responsive when we had questions. Great place for a getaway!!

The site was clean and well maintained. We met the owners who are on site and they are quite congenial. Unfortunately, my bride caught a terrible cold and we only stayed for a couple of days over New Year's weekend.
We would go back and give it a longer stay.

We have stayed at this property a couple of times. Its very quiet and comfortable. Both times it has been during cooler weather but they have a very nice outdoor area and screened porch. We look forward to coming down and enjoying it again. Sam and Mark are great hosts and very responsive to any questions.

Love, love the fire pit and cozy feel of the cottage. Comfortable, clean, simple, and would not hesitate to return. Owners are amazing and had great fire side chat with them one night.

A perfect vacation getaway, in a beautiful scenic environment with a host and hostess in ensure that all your needs are met.
The location is perfect; out of the thicket of activity yet with close enough access if you so choose. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our weekend retreat at Jameslin. It was perfect for our visit with our daughter who is going to school at VIMS. It is amazing how secluded it is, yet within minutes to grocery stores, gas stations, and restaurants. The gas fireplace made it especially cozy during the rain.

The cottage is located on a large piece of property which includes a delightful tiki party venue complete with a lake, island and fountain. The cottage itself is a delight with all the comforts of home and then some. The owners, whose home is on site, are delightful and the view of Mobjack Bay beyond the main house is stunning! Bring your dogs, because they will enjoy the wide open spaces!

What a weekend! Due to weather, we had to pivot our plans numerous times but the owners were absolutely fabulous to us. We appreciated their hospitality! Thank you!!!!!

The host went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. They were amazing!

Sam and Mark were fantastic hosts. We were treated like family and Sam brought us a huge steaming pot for half bushel of clams and a few dozen crabs. The cottage is set back one mile on a quiet private road with a State Park nearby with a handicapped kayak and canoe launch. The beds are very comfortable and the sunrise and sunset views were amazing. We really enjoyed relaxing at the Tiki Bar and spending time together as a family with two adult children and a future son-in-law. Thanks to the Jameslin’s for making us feel so welcome.

We chose this property based on the listing and the location as we needed a base to explore the tidewater area. Our choice was perfect. Setting was very serene and quite, screen porch was wonderful for reading and meals. Home is well stocked and clean. Will definitely stay again.

Sam and Mark are great hosts. Loved the cottage and the seclusion of the property. Great location on the river. Will definitely return and recommend to friends and family

My family (myself, husband, 2 teenagers and 2 dogs) stayed here for 3 nights while exploring Virginia’s historic triangle. The property was beautiful and provided a peaceful place to rest after a day of adventuring and the dogs loved playing in the yard. The location was perfect (about 15-20 minutes from Yorktown and 30 minutes to Williamsburg) and had local restaurants and stores nearby. The house was clean and comfortable and had everything one would expect and then some. The owners were kind and communicative and overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

This is our 3rd time staying at the cottage and it’s always been a great vacation spot. The house is clean and on amazing land. We’ll definitely be back!!!
4.8
We had a very nice, quiet stay at Jameslin drive. A great little property with a cabin amongst it. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. A 30 minute drive to Busch Gardens and Water country. Close to all Williamsburg’s tourist/history attractions and some family that are local. Settling in back at the cabin in the quiet was amazing. The screened in porch is perfect out there.
4.8
Beautiful property on the river with gorgeous
sunrises and sunsets. Cottage was very comfortable for four adults and one dog. We loved the screened-in porch, washing machine and dryer and the king sized bed. Owner Sam was very friendly and answered all our questions promptly. Would love to stay there again in the future.
4.8
We were looking at a place to stay for our quick trip to Busch Gardens. Its about a 30 min drive. The owners had great communication and the cabin was fully stocked with amenities.
4.8
A beautiful secluded spot but just 15 minutes to all the amenities you need. Our host, Sam, could not have been more gracious. We highly recommend it!
4.8
This is an excellent piece of property if your looking for peace and quiet at the end of a busy touring/entertainment day. It was a little further from destinations than I previously thought but worth the drive. There are mosquitos.
4.8
Nice place that is both quiet and convenient to everything!
4.8
Beautiful property, gracious hosts! Sam and Mark were amazing! We and Floyd and Dutchess (our dogs) enjoyed everything! We will return!
4.8
Our stay was rainy for a couple days but it was very relaxing being able to sit in the screened in porch with our dogs. It was great being able to fish off of the dock. Sam and Mark were very accommodating!
