Perfect house and property for our group of 11. Lots of privacy, lots of room in the house. Cyndi is so friendly and welcoming.

Great place for family time. Nice beach to explore, plenty of toys for the children, puzzles to complete during rainy days, house with cozy areas for conversation and alone time, full kitchen to cook anything you can think of especially lobster, reasonable drive to Bar Harbor, and your own place to spend quality time with your family.

We had a fantastic stay. We were a family of 11, from a newborn to my 77 year old father and everyone was comfortable. We loved exploring the property and beach. We collected mussels for dinner at low tide. Cyndy provided us so many great local recommendations and we really appreciated her hospitality. Hope to return one day!

This property is in a beautiful setting on the water. The house was equipped with everything we needed. Well stocked kitchen, bathrooms, toys for the kids and relaxing chairs on the porch. We loved being a little bit "out of town" and having our own beach and water view. The owner goes above and beyond to share favorite places to eat at, to see and to explore. Communication was top notch and very easy. She responded almost immediately every time I reached out to her. We would highly recommend this house and will visit again if we return to the Acadia area.

This house was everything we could have hoped for: comfortable for three generational family, spotless, private beach, fun surprises in every corner.
Owner was extremely accessible and helpful.
Would return with out a doubt!

A great location for families- very quiet and everything available for all ages. We had day trips daily around Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor but returned to Lamoine each afternoon. Whale watching out of Bar Harbor as well hikes in Acadia made for a great vacation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the house and the beach even more lovely than expected! Very private and picturesque spot. House was clean, comfortable, and inviting. Cyndy was very helpful and a pleasure to work with - thanks for a great week!!

We loved staying at this house for our family vacation. The design and antiques in the home make it super charming. We loved the location being on the river and seeing the tides. The host was super helpful and communicated greatly.

We have rented many VRBO properties over the years, but we agreed this one had to be right up there near the top. There were 8 of us...4 adults, four kids (18 mo-10 years). There was plenty of space and I can't emphasize enough: location, location, location! Our grandkids played on the long beach every day, eager to find out what new types of creatures / shells the tides had brought in. For the adults, just looking out on the view (from inside the home or from an Adirondack chair on the back deck) of the Mt. Desert Narrows was relaxing and beautiful. The home was comfortable and seemed to be made for exactly the type of family vacation we enjoyed. We saw all sorts of wildlife, including chipmunks, deer, and foxes. The owner was more accommodating than any other VRBO owner we have encountered. Once she realized what ages our grandkids were, she helped us by finding and loaning rubber boots (for the beach), a baby stroller, stair gates, many toys, and so forth. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. I'll add that the whole place is just that--comfortable. The owner even set up a baby bed for the 18 month-old. She recommended good restaurants in Ellsworth, MDI, etc. The road into the property is unpaved and goes through woods, but that helps make sure things are peaceful and quiet (at least until the grandkids woke up) for your visit. It's an easy drive into Bar Harbor and/or Ellsworth from this location. Overall, I'd have to give it an A+++++!

Not only was the rental amazing (spacious, right on the water, authentic) but Cyndy went over and beyond what we could have expected. Let us check in two hours early and brought us pizza! We've never experienced service like that in these type of rentals. We definitely will be back as soon as we are able!
Thank you!

Home was perfect for a 4 generation vacation. Cynthia was such a great host making sure we had everything we needed for our stay. If we had questions about anything she was quick to respond. We loved all the family space and toys to entertain the little one. The firepit near the water was wonderful, beach views to wake up to... can't say enough about this home and Cynthia. Thank you and can't wait until next visit.

This welcoming home was private, spacious and impeccably clean. Our family of 10 enjoyed the private beach in front of the home, the beautiful views, beach combing , kayaking and much more. The immediate area offered plenty to do and supermarkets and restaurants were nearby. Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor were awesome and they were about a half hour away. The kids loved all the toys and the piano in the house. Our hostess was extremely helpful and well informed about the area. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed Cyndy's place! It worked very well for 10 of us - 6 adults and 4 kids (ages 6-11). The private beach was lovely and despite the cold ocean water our kids played, hunted for creatures and even went for (quick) dips. Great proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia and it took us about 20-30 min to reach those areas. Bar Harbor was BUSY (we were there in August) and after navigating the crowds and congestion it was so refreshing to return to this tranquil setting. The house is comfortable and family friendly (lots of kids toys and games). Cyndy is so helpful, communicative and always available to answer questions and provide suggestions for those not completely familiar with the area. Would definitely like to stay here again if we return to the Bar Harbor area.

We loved our stay here! Cindy made sure we had everything we needed. In fact, there was so much more available in the house than any other rental we’ve ever stayed in. We traveled with 6 young kids who never ran out of something to explore/do!

Our extended family had the pleasure of staying in Lamoine for a week. We enjoyed the fire pit, collected mussels, and made many memories in this quaint farmhouse. Our host was very attentive and had many suggestions for us during our stay. The location of this house was great for all of our adventures, as we traveled into Bar Harbor and Acadia Park. Everyone, young and old, had a lovely time and we look forward to returning to the area again in the future!

The home was beautiful and well maintained. Anything to help your stay be comfortable was available for your use. Our host was available for anything that we needed. She gave us information on where to go and what to see. The setting, secluded on a beautiful cove, was so serene and beautiful. Every morning and evening we go down to the beach watch the seals and wildlife and found starfish, shells, clams, etc. So many memories we made.

The house had the most interesting antiques, many were things we used in the past. All 10 of us are over 75 and enjoyed the many comforts of the well-decorated rooms and the views of the water. It had everything needed for making meals and eating them on lovely plates . Lots of firewood available for our time around the fire pit. Comfortable and many outdoor seating places too. We all enjoyed our week in Lamoine.

We loved the back porch on this place that overlooks the beach though the woods. It was so relaxing to sit out there! The house was very spacious with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is equipped with most everything you need. Make sure you bring your own spices including salt and pepper along with condiments as there are none in the house. The hostess Cyndy was very helpful and quickly responsive. We would highly recommend this place if you want to stay remote but not too far from Acadia and Bar Harbor.

We have a group of three families, spread out across the country, that pick a place to meet up once per year. We have kids ranging in age from 3 to 12, and adults aged as you would expect for that range of kids ;) Appleshores has everything for everyone - the kids were not the only ones enchanted! We did leave the property to explore the richness of area, but we all agreed that we didn't really need to for comfort and entertainment. If you are looking for that amazing, cozy, northern magic - the kind where you feel like you're tucked in with your friends and family on your own private island, but can quickly and easily get to civilization and time-honored destinations - Cyndy built this place for you. You will not be disappointed!

This house was perfect for our extended family vacation. Cyndy is a great host! She answered all of our questions quickly and the home had everything that we could have possibly needed and more. The views are breathtaking. We loved walking along the shore looking for sea creatures. We even got to see a few seals while out playing on the kayaks that we rented. I highly recommend booking this property. You won't be disappointed!

Fantastic Family Fun!
We loved our stay here! Cyndy was so helpful in offering suggestions and promptly answered my questions. The house had everything we needed for our large family vacation. We all especially enjoyed kayaking right from the backyard, and had fun discovering all the different sea creatures on the beach. We were able to enjoy nightly dinners on the back patio and eat s’mores by the fire pit. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park was conveniently located 30 minutes away, so it was easy for us to do day trips to the local attractions. My family really enjoyed staying at Cyndy’s home, and we have great memories from our stay that we will be cherished forever.

Wonderful Hidden Gem
What a hidden gem this place was! A bit off the beaten path in the most perfect way! And only about 30 minutes away from Acadia and about 10 minutes from grocery and eating! The house was so fun with lots of room for people to spread out. This was PERFECT for our family to come together at! We had 12 people and fit perfectly! We had 7 kids from 4-18 and they absolutely loved the house! In fact they never wanted to leave it! Very kid friendly with all the amenities you would need for them there! We all loved the beach and seeing the high and low tides and finding lots of sea treasures. The owner was lovely and very helpful with information on the surrounding areas. Thank you for an awesome stay!

First Family trip to Maine - Fantastic!
Our trip was amazing and we are already looking to see when we can return. The house was super- like super clean and so well stocked. We all had plenty of room to spread out since there was 9 of us. The views and the beach area along with the nice covered porch make you want to sit all day. Cyndy was wonderful with all her helpful tips and recommendations- really helped us enjoy some local experiences and see the area.

Peaceful, Relaxing and spacious…what a find!
What a Find on VRBO! We (8 women around 60 years old / friends weekend from IOWA). Landed in Bangor Maine and drove to Lamoine, ME (50 min drive) to this wonderful getaway on the bay! The owner Cindy was very quick to respond to questions and also gave great recommendations on dining and extra activities. We had kayaks delivered / picked up to the house from Acadia1.com (Stuart) who also was very accommodating. Could kayak right in the backyard on the bay. The house was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. We even used the fire pit by the bay to build a fire, laugh, enjoy s’mores and watching the moon rise over the bay. Quick drive to Acadia National Park, Another day was Bass Harbor Lighthouse, and a evening cruise on Margaret-Todd Schooner out of Bay Harbor. The house had a wonderful back deck with plenty of comfortable chairs to enjoy the view, sit and have coffee in the morning and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. We walked the beach at low tide and was amazed at the amount of shells in the area. We took hikes in the Area from the house. Easy checking in/ out process. Would highly recommend to anyone …especially for a family holiday celebration…vey spacious and welcoming. The only thing we would have enjoyed more was an outdoor jacuzzi at the house to further enjoy the view but we knew that wasn’t there when we reserved it! Vey private location, extremely quite but short drive to Hancock or Ellsworth.

Unbelievable Property
This is the most incredible property. We had such a wonderful visit. Travelling with a couple of CIA trained Chefs who had everything that they needed in this dream kitchen. We had mussels from this shore and enjoyed collecting shells and beautiful rocks. This home was a dream.

Stunning grounds
We loved our stay! The property is very large, peaceful, private, and stunningly beautiful. We enjoyed watching the sunrise over the water which can be seen from just about every room in the house. The back porch is spacious and inviting. The kitchen is well stocked and there are puzzles and toys to entertain the kids on rainy days. The host is very gracious, responsive and helpful. I highly recommend this house.

Magical Maine Memories
This home has a truly beautiful beach with abundant sea life. My favorite thing was to walk to the end of the rocky outcrop and look out to the islands and open ocean beyond. My kids adored looking for shells and starfish. My two year old dug away in the sand and loved the trucks and toys. My husband even took a dip in the cold water. We were here a week, but our three favorite days in Maine we spent relaxing on the beach at "home" in the mornings when the tide was out, followed by a nice lunch on the deck, then out for a hike in the afternoon with our two big kids while grandparents stayed and watched our little guy (our favorite hike was Black Mountain). My family was here with both sets of grandparents and the bedrooms worked out really well -- we were able to be together comfortably and also have our own spaces. My mom loves antiques and she found lots of inspiration from Cyndy's creative displays. Cyndy gave us some wonderful places to explore that we would not have discovered otherwise. Thank you, Cyndy, for providing a cozy, well-equipped, thoughtful, and comfortable home away from home. We would absolutely return!

A week of heaven
We absolutely love this house. It is located on a huge piece of riverfront property. From the bedrooms, kitchen, and living room, you always had a view of the river. And it was absolutely spectacular. You can hear the river… It was probably too big for us, but thats not really a problem, is it. As far as food, we cooked in the huge kitchen every night. The appliances were great, and we really did feast every night on halibut, clams, and lobster. In addition to the great kitchen, there is also a large pot for cooking lobster easy breezy. In the master bedroom, we had a panoramic view of the river, although the sun shined in so bring those night eye covers. I also used the jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom, which helped thise aching muscles after hiking. There are also fireplaces everywhere. You can just feel the great memories in this house. There are uplifting messages everywhere about family, and we totally bonded here. After a day of hiking, kayaking, biking, exploring, etc, we would enjoy wine and sit on the expansive deck and watch the sunset, or start a campfire at the firepit at the rivers edge. There are seats and fire wood right there as well. My wife really enjoyed reading on the deck in the morning with her coffee.
The owner Cindy was always a text or phone call away as well, always offering advice on restaurants, activities, or touristy areas to avoid during the “season”. We are actually considering coming back here one day. The place was really clean, and well maintained as well. 5 stars!!!

Great place
Very private setting. Sandy beach area was vast, a rare find on the coast of Maine. Met owner, very personable and offered suggestions for places to visit in the area. A great rental home!

Our family has been renting vacation homes in Maine for over 10 years. This house was sub-par compared to all prior experiences in several ways:1. Cleanliness - clean at the surface but not thoroughly or sufficiently clean. Filthy oven, thick dust under and on some furniture. For the amount of money we paid, a professional cleaning service is a baseline expectation.2. Condition - while the house was marketed as sleeping 12, which it did, other aspects did not allow for comfortable gatherings for 12. The table, for example, could only comfortably accommodate 6-8. Also, much of the furniture is well past its prime, needing repair or replacement. There were noticeable gaps between walls and moldings, allowing more bugs than any Mainer would expect. Vacationers generally enjoy catching up on sleep which was impossible in the master suite; while the view is spectacular, the sunrise at 4:30 am was unavoidable because there are no window shades.3. Clutter - this house seems more like a family home than a vacation rental. The challenge of accommodating our group was compounded by the vast array of collectibles on every surface, in every cabinet and closet. We had to improvise pantry space and relocate owners’ items to unpack our suitcases. Collectibles displayed on a spiral staircase are both a fire and tripping hazard.4. Communication - the owner was great to deal with during the booking and check-in processes but after having been initially receptive to some feedback, her demeanor changed. The location was ideal for our family. The outdoor space, access to beach, new grill, peace and tranquility for all outstanding. With a few improvements and attention to detail this could be a 5-star property well worth the cost.
