We had a great family vacation as usual and plan on staying next year same time thank you.

This property is perfect for a large group. It was clean and ready and stocked with the essentials. Despite a recent hurricane, it was in great shape. Gorgeous for a historic property nestled in a small town community where people walk around and leave your stuff alone. And the front porch is amaxing great to hang out in the evenings and early mornings!!!

The house was beautiful and just one block from the seawall. The beds were the most comfortable we've had at a rental. The plumbing had hot wayer with great water pressure. The living areas were large and well set up. The extras, like baby equipment, chairs, etc. were very nice. We're listing this as our preferred house for future vacations. Everything met or exceeded our expectations.

We totally enjoyed our stay in your home in Galveston.

Stayed with friends for the beach blitz on East beach. Short drive to the beach. House had plenty of room and worked out great for our families. We all drive large vehicles so parking had to be plannned but not an issue.

We had a large family group and this home has tons of space. I really like this place for kids because there are not any breakable decor items and plenty of floor space for play. The front porch seems to almost always have a breeze. The all of furniture and beds were comfy and clean. The kitchen was nicely stocked. The refrigerator is a little small, but we used a cooler for overflow and it worked out fine. The location is within walking distance of stores, restaurants and the seawall.

This house worked great for our family vacation. The location was ideal and there were enough bedrooms to accommodate everyone.

Vintage century old house is very roomy, long steep stairs to second floor, nice big porch, great location only a couple of blocks from Murdock’s and trolley stop. Owners live nearby and provide prompt response to any needs. (Air conditioner downstairs went out and was restored less than an hour after we reported it.)

Great spacious house. Very clean. Fantastic location. Be aware: The upstairs bath is a deep step to get into. The upstairs bedrooms were a little warm, but the fans made them adequately comfortable.

This house was close to the beach & accommodated 14 of us!

The house was amazing and beautiful we loved the old charm of the house . So close to everything! We will stay there again ! Thank you for having us !

It is very obvious that the house is old but we enjoyed it!
The only problem we encountered is not being able to find the remote for the living room tv but we had music with our Bluetooth speakers.
The neighbors are a bit rowdy at night.

First, the location is amazing & all of the instructions provided were very detailed with great suggestions for local stores/restaurants. The house is spacious & yes, old, but our own house was built in 1930 so we appreciate the character of old houses. On arrival Wed evening we noted an exposed electric outlet in the sitting room. We have young kids so ok, put the dog kennel in front of it to block it, make a note to let the owner know & hurry to make dinner. The pots/silverware had dried food on them, no biggie we thought, we usually wash before use anyway but note a trend forming. We clean up head to bed & clean the wall due to the amount of accumulated dust above the headboard (purple room). In the morning we discover an army of ants all over the food on the counter. We're frustrated now but determined to focus on the positive. The rest of the day was great, we thought the kinks were all out after spraying the provided ant spray. Evening comes, we're sitting in the dinning room when my 65 y/o mother frantically rushes in from the back bath after watching a mouse scurry over the washer/dryer while going potty. That finally pushes us over the edge, we email the owner regarding these & some other issues that I can't even list here due to space. He quickly responds with several excuses & offers a refund that wouldn't even cover the cleaning+service fees. We're so upset we ask to sleep on it to respond outside the veil of anger. We explore the island the next day, get back the kids rush in to grab some chips, as we come in to help the youngest we see chips all over the floor, we remind them to be careful/not make a mess & see that chips are falling out of the bag the little one is currently eating from. They are eating out of the same bags the mouse has already been in. Another email & response stating this is a "normal" problem & another small refund offer as we basically just have a difference in opinion on what's an acceptable level of safety/cleanliness. Some other "opinions" we had, an arm chair & dinning room chairs with a broken leg, bed propped up with a book, ceiling fans with exposed wiring, smoke detectors that did not appear to be functioning(we tested after all of the electric concerns), a gaping hole at the bottom of the backdoor that could deter the "normal" occurrence of rodents if fixed. Most reasonable people expect at a minimum clean and safe accommodations which this house does not meet, I would caution

My family and I had a wonderful time. This was our first family trip and is more than what we expected. We didn’t want to leave.

The house is 2 blocks from Murdoch’s and the sea wall/beach. House is older but with updates to common areas. Upstairs rooms has 3 (comfortable!) queen beds and library and sunroom had twins. All upstairs rooms had a/c window units that kept the rooms comfortable and blocked all outside “noise”. Downstairs central a/c was a champ and LOTS of common space. Love it!

If you are a group of adults in need of a big place and like older historic houses a little rough around the edges close to the beach, pleasure pier and restaurants and entertainment than this a great location. The owner was attentive and easy to work with. For a lively bunch who enjoys fight night(the couple next door puts on a show), people watching and talking to unusual strangers on the front porch, this will fit the bill. Overall, we had a great time being together as a family and did our best to ignore the peculiar neighbors. Hopefully they won’t be there long as the owner mentioned they were working on evictions.

Overall, the house is a typical coastal property. We travel to the TX coast almost yearly. This particular property was definitely rough. The property manager was accommodating, There was 13 of us total and we all enjoyed the huge porch. The bathroom upstairs was very difficult to manuver as you have to step down about 4ft into the tub and then try to get back out. The overall cleanliness was not apparent at all. One of the comforters was flipped inside out with a huge stain or something on the flip side. We enjoyed being 1 block from beach and pier, that was accurate. The place has huge potential it just really needs to be renovated and have a deep clean. Just know the neighbors stay up late into the night fighting. They did this all 4 nights we were there. Again, used to this type of environment, just wish it had been conveyed to us. The manager did advise about an hour prior to check in maintenance issues that the "previous" tenant left. I do not agree that the issues we came across had just happened. I really hesitated in leaving this review as I truly do not like leaving negative feedback.

Location of the property in regards to amenities was great. Short walk to beach, pier, and restaurants. Location of home with apartments next door was horrible and made for very long and loud nights. My kids learned some new words and the meaning of a domestic dispute from the neighbors. Upon arrival we had to contact police to address a gentleman using drugs/passing out in the front yard of the home across the street. Street in front of home was very busy and made for nighttime entertainment watching cars drag race. The home is dated and could probably use a deep clean but was acceptable. Had ants and fruit flies upon arrival but we took care of them.
I did appreciate the home being well stocked with supplies and it was very comfortable for a larger group. Property agent/owner was easy to work with. Home was just not ideal for our family.

This was a great property. Had an issue getting check in code, but a quick message to the property owner, resulted in an immediate call back with the information. Full of historic charm and close to shopping, restaurants, and the beach! There were 9 of us with room for more comfortably. Our grandkids enjoyed it so much. Thanks for a great experience.

I am very happy with our stay at this property. It is really nice and spacious. All the reviews I read before making a decision on this property do not do any justice to how beautiful and cozy this home is. Mr. Rudy was always so prompt to respond to any questions I had. If you make a choice to rent this property you will not regret it!

Great Value for Families
We had a great stay, and would recommend this property. Rudy was very responsive to anything we needed. Its an older house, but we saw that as a positive where we got to experience the true look, feel and history of Galveston. We had pets and the location was great for being able to take them on walks through the neighborhood, and its close enough to the beach we walked them on the seawall.
The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, and we cooked something almost every night. Loved the natural gas appliances.
We used the propane grill one night for burgers, and it did the job and then some. I had room on the bottom level for all the patties and grilled peppers and hot dogs on the top.
The A/C worked very well, and we even had small self-standing A/c units in almost every room if the central A/C wasn't exactly dialed in for that room. We had only one room that started out a little warmer than others, but again it wasn't an issue with the additional A/c units provided. In hot summertime this was a key thing for us.
We did have a few flies get in, and a few insects here and there, but in the middle of Galveston in the hot summer thats to be expected in an older house.
Definitely keep the amount of cars to a minimum so you can park up to 3 behind the house. If you park on the street you take your chances of getting dings from bicycles or other cars. We had one car parked there get scraped by another vehicle of some kind.
The living room, dining room and large front porch were ideal for our large group with plenty of chairs and couches.
The WiFi was strong throughout the house and used by several of our group constantly, and it held up for the most part. There were a couple of blips on one day where internet went down for a short period, but i was able to do remote work for the office on at least one of the days without issue.
The neighbors kept to themselves other than a few waves here or there, and it was a nice quiet place to relax and enjoy time with family and friends.
