Good location, average accomodation in terms of decor and cleanliness. Bit overpriced

Location was ideal. Staff were lovely, very helpful. Girl in the breakfast venue was really bright and helpful!
Room could have been a bit more up to date and warmer.

Easy access to Sleaford town centre. Service throughout stay was excellent including for evening meal. Plentiful parking.
Hotel is adjacent to rail station/level crossing so occasional noise from passing trains.

The Carre Arms is a truly unique great British hotel with bags of charm a wide and varied menu that's just the right mix of dishes for all tastes.
If we have to visit this part of the world again, I will definitely be booking the Carre Arms.
We stayed in a large, comfortable room well decorated and clean.
The bath was too small. I would have preferred a large walk-in shower or a normal sized bath

Room was spotless and the heating was spot on, not too hot or too cold. Bed was so comfortable and the bath, although on short side, was so welcome - four baths in three days shows just how welcome! Lots of hot water, soft towels … perf3ct.
Continental breakfast a little uninspired - tinned peaches not really hitting the spot! That said, it did the job!

The young man who served us with drinks on the 21 September provided us with excellent service. He provided us with a high standard of service and was able to recommend suitable vegetarian options and helped mr choose a lovely cauliflower and chickpea curry.
The bar had a nice relaxing atmosphere.
My room was immaculate and although a bit tired the cleanliness was of a high standard. The bedside lights on the wall proved to be a bit of a puzzle in terms of switching them on and bedside lamps would have been preferable. I had a small double to myself….the window overlooked a flat roof. I would have preferred to have blinds on this window as I felt a bit vulnerable not knowing if my room could be overlooked. My bed was very comfortable, and the bedding was very soft and pristine.
As detailed above

I didn't actually stay at the hotel as I was unavoidably held up en route and when I phoned ahead, I was told there were no staff on site to receive me after 11pm and no other place to securely leave the key for me to pick up. It is not made clear that this hotel is not open 24hrs and I request a refund please. I was left stranded late at night and eventually managed to book a travelodge away from my intended destination, which incurred another cost of £100. The hotel will verify this very unfortunate set of circumstances and have agreed that a refund should be paid. Many thanks and I await contact from booking.com to resolve this.
See above - room was not used and stay did not take place.
